Fri Sep 22 202314:59Donovan Mitchell Not Expected To Sign An Extension Next Summer
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was traded away from Utah just one year ago as he joined the young, up-and-coming duo of Darius Garland and Evan Mobley. The Cavaliers had some great showings with Mitchell leading the way last season, but they ultimately fell flat in the playoffs after losing in the first round to the New York Knicks. Mitchell currently has three years left on his current contract with the third year being a player's option. That means he's eligible for an extension next offseason. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, he's not expected to sign an extension any time soon as he still feels out if the Cavaliers are in his long-term plans. The team's success will be something to monitor as Mitchell may want to leave earlier than expected.

Sat Jul 29 202310:01Cavaliers Remain Committed To Donovan Mitchell
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell remains the centerpiece for the team and the franchise is ready to make everything possible to please the 26-year-old superstar. "They're doing their best to reconfigure things around him and just keep rolling out the red carpet, making sure he knows he is taking care of, all of that," a source told Heavy Sports. "No one is hitting the eject button on this. There is a lot of cost that's been sunk into him and they're going to push forward." The Mitchell era in Cleveland got off to a disappointing start, as the Cavaliers suffered a first-round playoff exit in just five games as a higher seed against the New York Knicks this spring. However, the former Jazz man did enjoy personal success in 2022-23, averaging a career-high 28.3 points with 4.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals, while making it into the All-NBA Second Team.

Sun Apr 16 202309:16Donovan Mitchell Sets Cavaliers Record With 38-Point Effort
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell couldn't save the team from Saturday's Game 1 loss against the Knicks, but it was a special outing for him personally, as Mitchell set the Cavaliers playoff debut scoring record with a game-high 38 points on 14-for-30 shooting. Over half of his attempts came from downtown and Mitchell finished 6-for-16 with his triples. His line also included five rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block. This series looks set to be a very competitive one and there are likely more big scoring performances coming up from Mitchell, who owns the seventh-highest all-time scoring average in the NBA playoffs (28.6).

Sat Apr 8 202322:31Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell Out On Sunday
Cleveland Cavaliers guards Darius Garland (leg) and Donovan Mitchell (hand) aren't available for Sunday's meeting with Charlotte. Cleveland is in postseason mode, so Caris LeVert (knee) is also unavailable for this one. As a result, Ricky Rubio, Raul Neto, and Sam Merrill should receive plenty of minutes to warrant DFS consideration. However, it's anyone's guess who will be the most productive.

Thu Apr 6 202312:09Donovan Mitchell Getting A Rest Day On Thursday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (finger), along with the other top five players on the depth chart, are getting a rest day on Thursday and seemingly could just stay on the sidelines for the team's remaining games. They've officially locked up the fourth seed in the East, so there's not much to play for in the last couple of games. While Mitchell is out, Lamar Stevens, Raul Neto, and Ricky Rubio could be solid streaming options since they'll see plenty of minutes.

Mon Apr 3 202308:26Donovan Mitchell Extends 40-Point Streak
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell led the squad with 40 points on 14-for-25 shooting in Sunday's 115-105 win over Indiana. He was 3-for-9 with the three-ball and also had six rebounds in the game with one assist, three steals and five turnovers. Mitchell coughed up the ball a bit too often, but he made up for it with his third consecutive 40-point outing. It's the first such scoring run of his career. The 26-year-old star has had a great debut campaign in Cleveland and will look to cap it off with a deep run in the playoffs.

Sat Apr 1 202311:29Donovan Mitchell Goes For 40-Plus Points Again
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell posted his second consecutive game with 40-plus points on Friday, leading his squad with 42 in a 130-116 loss to the Knicks. He got there with outstanding 16-for-23 shooting, nailing six of his nine attempts from deep. Mitchell's night also included four rebounds, five assists and one block. The four-time All-Star has nicely heated up lately and can look for further momentum ahead of the playoffs during a very favorable set of games against struggling teams. Cleveland will face Indiana on Sunday before having back-to-back meetings with Orlando and hosting Charlotte in the regular-season finale.

Wed Mar 29 202310:37Donovan Mitchell Pours In 44 Points In Loss
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was not shy when it came to pulling the trigger on Tuesday, but that didn't turn into a win as they dropped the game against Atlanta by two points. The Louisville product finished the game with 44 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals while converting on 15 of his 33 shots and five of his 12 threes. 33 shots to get 44 points isn't exactly the greatest efficiency, but he still produced enough for a lot of fantasy managers to hang in their playoff matchups. Mitchell is now ranked 17th in nine-category leagues.

Wed Mar 22 202311:09Donovan Mitchell Scores At Will Against Brooklyn
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell led all scorers on Tuesday during their 115-109 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The superstar combo guard ended the game with 31 points, five rebounds, and three assists while shooting 10-for-22 from the floor and 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. He hasn't had the best week compared to his season averages, but this game could kickstart him back to his norm. Right now, Mitchell is ranked in the top 10 in total stats in nine-category leagues and is around the same for points leagues. As they shoot to get a higher seed in the playoffs, he'll likely play more often than not down the stretch.

Tue Mar 14 202315:57Donovan Mitchell Will Be Sidelined On Tuesday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (finger) has been ruled out due to injury management on a finger sprain on his left hand. Normally, these injury management statuses are a one-game type of absence, so that could be the case since the Cavaliers have an even more important game on the second half of their back-to-back against the 76ers. The playoff and tiebreaker implications are on the line against Philadelphia, so Cleveland likely wants him well-rested for that. While he's out, Ricky Rubio and Caris LeVert could be solid streaming options against a weaker Hornets team.

Sat Mar 11 202307:02Donovan Mitchell Racks Up 42 Points Against Miami
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell put up a game-high 42 points in Friday's 119-115 defeat to Miami. With Darius Garland (quadriceps) sitting out the action, Mitchell had all the keys to the offense and put up 25 points in the first half alone. It was the third time this season Mitchell managed to score at least 25 first-half points. He made half of his 30 attempts from the field and shot 8-for-15 from outside while completing his job with three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 43 minutes. Mitchell has now gone for 40-plus points in three of his last five appearances, which is awful news for the Hornets and their leaky defense. Cleveland has back-to-back games against Charlotte coming up next.

Tue Mar 7 202308:51Donovan Mitchell Shakes Off Injury To Put Up 40 Points
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell produced a game-high 40 points as the team managed to beat Boston 118-114 in overtime Monday. The 26-year-old star played through a sprained finger, adding 11 rebounds to his tally with four assists and one block in 47 minutes. Mitchell reached 40 points for the second time already in March, but he did it with inefficient shooting this time, finishing 14-for-34 from the field with a 4-for-11 record from deep. Mitchell might remain on the injury report for Wednesday's clash with the Heat, but it looks like the injury isn't serious enough to keep him sidelined and he should be able to play through it again.

Mon Mar 6 202318:43Donovan Mitchell Cleared On Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (hand) has been cleared to play during Monday's game against the Boston Celtics. He left Saturday's game due to a left hand issue, but didn't have any problems during his pregame routine on Monday. That being said, Mitchell will play and should play his normal amount of minutes. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups to make sure Mitchell is in there. Caris LeVert will remain on the bench, so he won't have increased value.

Sun Mar 5 202318:00Donovan Mitchell Questionable Monday With Finger Sprain
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (finger) is questionable to play Monday versus the Boston Celtics. Mitchell left Saturday's game with the injury after playing just 24 minutes and finishing with 20 points, four assists and two steals. If Mitchell is unable to go, Caris LeVert will likely move into the starting lineup. LeVert is averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game as a starter this season.

Thu Mar 2 202314:38Donovan Mitchell Battling A Groin Problem Again
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell hurt his groin again in Wednesday's 117-113 loss to Boston. Mitchell was injured in the third quarter but was able to finish the game, putting up an impressive 44 points in 44 minutes. However, it's now unclear if he will be able to stay in the lineup for the upcoming games. Darius Garland would get a nice usage boost if Mitchell lands on the shelf, while Caris LeVert will have a chance to enter the starting unit. He has averaged 14.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists as a starter this season.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months....
