Tue May 26 201515:26Jorge De La Rosa: (Hand) Scratched From Tuesday's Start
De La Rosa has been scratched from Tuesday's scheduled start against the Reds because of a cut on his left hand, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
De La Rosa will be replaced by Chris Rusin, who is having a disastrous season (6.29 ERA, 5.81 FIP) for Triple-A Colorado Springs. Yohan Flande will be demoted for the corresponding roster move, indicating that De La Rosa may avoid the disabled list.
Tue May 26 201515:16Jorge De La Rosa: No Longer Listed As Tuesday Starter
De La Rosa is no longer listed as the starter for Tuesday's game against the Reds, with Chad Rusin instead listed in his place, Brian Giesenschlag of FOXSports Ohio reports.
De La Rosa dealt with a groin injury two weekends ago, but it didn't stop him from making his last start, Thursday against the Phillies. The Rockies haven't provided an update, but Chad Rusin is now listed as Tuesday's starter, and we should have more information soon. It's worth noting that the game is in danger of being postponed due to rain.

De La Rosa couldn't finish five innings Thursday against Philadelphia, as he got just one out in the fifth and left with a line of five runs, five hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
The Rockies went on to win, but De La Rosa didn't factor into the decision, having failed to finish the minimum number of innings to qualify. He's been missing bats -- 31 strikeouts in 27.2 innings -- but De La Rosa's control has regressed badly and he has to pitch half his games in Coors Field, so it's highly risky even using him as a streaming option right now.

De La Rosa (groin) has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for Thursday's game at home against the Phillies.
De La Rosa was considered questionable for Thursday's start after injuring his groin in his last outing, but the setback will not prevent him from taking the mound Thursday afternoon. De La Rosa has struggled mightily at Coors Field this season, giving up 14 earned runs in 11 innings over three starts.

De La Rosa tweaked his left groin during Saturday's start against the Dodgers and is considered questionable to make his next turn in the rotation Thursday versus the Phillies, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
The injury didn't prevent De La Rosa from turning in his best performance of the season, as he tossed 7.1 scoreless innings and allowed only two hits en route to outdueling the Dodgers' Zack Greinke. He did some jogging Sunday to test out his groin and didn't appear to be in too much discomfort, but it's too early to say whether or not he'll be fit to pitch again by mid-week.

De La Rosa had his best game of the season Saturday, going 7.1 scoreless innings while allowing only two hits in a 7-1 win over the Dodgers.
The seven shutout innings lowered his ERA to 6.56 amazingly, and to a WHIP of 1.59. After a dreadful start to the season, De La Rosa has appeared to find his stride. He'll look to continue his good form in a good matchup against the Phillies next Thursday.

De La Rosa's rough start to the season continued on Sunday, as he gave up five runs on five hits and six walks over four innings-pitched against the Dodgers.
The lefty's ERA now sits at a bloated 9.56, and he will be hard-pressed to stick in the rotation if he continues to put up stinkers like this one. De La Rosa is next scheduled to take on this same Dodgers team on Saturday.

De La Rosa's start will be pushed back to Sunday after Saturday's game was rained out.
Nothing changes for De La Rosa, who will still face off against Clayton Kershaw this weekend, assuming the weather clears up Sunday. Just make sure he is not being used in any daily lineups Saturday.

De La Rosa gave up three runs over five innings Saturday to take the loss to the Padres. He struck out nine batters and walked three in the outing, both of which were season highs.
The Rockies' nominal staff ace has failed to cover more than five innings in any of his three turns since returning from the disabled list April 20. In spite of that, there's hope that De La Rosa may soon be due to turn the corner, as his unlucky .486 BABIP in the face of an excellent 14.2 K/9 rate over 12 innings suggests improved surface numbers should be in store.

De La Rosa struck out seven batters and gave up two runs over five innings Saturday against the Giants, but took a no-decision in the 5-4 loss.
De La Rosa missed out on a quality start following his removal after 90 pitches, but the Rockies still have to be pleased with his performance after he was dreadful in his season debut Monday. Though his ERA sits at a bloated 11.57 for the season, De La Rosa's 10:3 K:BB ratio over his seven innings thus far suggests that he's due for a steep improvement in his surface numbers once his .500 BABIP normalizes.

De La Rosa (groin) struck out three and walked one while getting tagged for nine runs -- seven earned -- on nine hits over two innings in a loss to San Diego on Monday night.
The right-handed heavy San Diego lineup hammered De La Rosa from the get-go Monday night, hanging five runs on the lefty in the top of the first inning. He'll look to turn things around after a disastrous debut in a home start Saturday against the Giants.

De La Rosa (groin) was officially activated from the disabled list Monday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
De La Rosa has been on the disabled list since the beginning of the season with a groin strain, but will finally make his debut Monday. It's unclear who will be bumped from the rotation at this point, but the club optioned Scott Oberg to Triple-A to make room on the 25-man roster.

De La Rosa (groin) will make his 2015 Rockies debut Monday agains the Padres, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
De La Rosa has already made two rehab starts for Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven over nine frames. He's now set to follow Eddie Butler's Sunday start against the Dodgers, and should remain in the rotation moving forward as long as his health holds up. Look for an announcement to confirm De La Rosa's activation early next week.

De La Rosa (groin) made his second rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, tossing five innings and allowing three runs (two earned) while striking out five batters.
Though he was initially due to return to the Rockies' rotation Tuesday, De La Rosa was instead given another rehab start as a precaution, and looked sharp. He found the strike zone on 50 of his 76 pitches, while not conceding a walk over his five innings. De La Rosa looks on track to reclaim his rotation spot with the big club Monday at Coors Field against the Padres, which will likely bump Christian Bergman to long relief.
Sat Apr 11 201518:16Jorge De La Rosa: (Groin) To Miss Another Turn In Rockies' Rotation
De La Rosa (groin) will miss another turn in the Rockies' rotation and will instead start for Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, the Denver Post's Nick Groke reports.
The Rockies' southpaw cited his lack of action this spring as a reason for his delayed return to the big league rotation. Christian Bergman will make the start Tuesday instead, but considering he is coming from the bullpen, it is unlikely that Bergman will be allowed to pitch deep into Tuesday's game. We will revisit De La Rosa's situation in advance of the Apr. 20 game against the Padres, which would be his next opportunity to join the Rockies' rotation.

De La Rosa (groin) will throw a bullpen session Saturday at Coors Field, the Associated Press reports.
After a successful rehab outing with Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday (one run allowed over four innings and 57 pitches), De La Rosa will advance to the next phase of his rehab process. While the left-hander acknowledged the groin soreness is something he'd likely have to nurse all season, it doesn't sound like he experienced any setbacks as a result of Thursday's outing. He could be on track to return to the mound for the Rockies during next Tuesday's game against the Giants.

De La Rosa (groin) is scheduled to make a rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
The Rockies placed De La Rosa on the disabled list to open the season, but there doesn't seem to be serious concern that he'll miss much more than one turn through the rotation. After a successful 45-pitch bullpen session Sunday, De La Rosa will throw around 65-to-75 pitches during Thursday's rehab outing. If all goes well in that outing, the Rockies will have De La Rosa lined up to slot back in for the April 14 game in San Francisco.
Sun Apr 5 201519:12De La Rosa (groin) officially placed on disabled list Sunday
De La Rosa (groin) was officially placed on the disabled list Sunday.
De La Rosa's return was pushed back further recently, so it comes as no surprise he will begin the season on the disabled list. The Rockies were initially hoping he would return April 14th when they first needed a pitcher, but it looks as though late April is a more plausible outcome, with that start falling to someone else.
Sun Apr 5 201504:58De La Rosa (groin) going to be out longer than expected
De La Rosa (groin) is going to be out longer than expected, which was already a pushed-back estimate, the Denver Post reports. He'll throw a bullpen session Sunday.
The Rockies had hoped that De La Rosa could pitch when the Rockies first needed a fifth starter on April 14 at San Francisco, but that's no longer looking likely. Christian Bergman is the likely candidate to replace De La Rosa on the 14th.
