After taking Tim Lincecum's spot in the rotation and looking good in his first two starts, Petit took a step back after Tuesday's sub-par outing. He now has 3.89 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 101:18 K:BB ratio in 90.1 innings pitched this year(including eight starts). We'll see if the Giants stick with Petit, as he may make next Tuesday's start at home against the Diamondbacks, but it's undecided at this moment.

It's not clear at this time if Petit's appointment to the rotation will be permanent, but if he continues to pitch close to as well as he already has to this point, it will be tough to justify moving him back to the bullpen.
