Mon Apr 15 2013 | 18:57 | Andre Caldwell unhappy wasn't invited to Duke |
Broncos WR Andre Caldwell "took it personal" that he wasn't invited to catch passes from Peyton Manning at Duke University last week. |
"No invite to Duke to run routes and catch passes," Caldwell tweeted. "I took it personal." Manning invited his top three receivers -- Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, and Eric Decker -- and said there wasn't enough space to invite everyone. Caldwell, 28, caught one pass in eight games for Denver last season. |

Sun Sep 9 2012 | 19:41 | Andre Caldwell scratched for Week 1 |
Broncos WR Andre Caldwell was deactivated for Week 1. |
Caldwell suffered "badly battered" ribs in Denver's second preseason game and has done little since. Meanwhile, Brandon Stokley has run away with the Broncos' slot receiver job. When Caldwell returns, he may only play special teams. |

Sun Aug 19 2012 | 08:38 | X-rays negative on Broncos WR Caldwell |
X-rays showed no broken ribs for Broncos WR Andre Caldwell after he left Saturday's game versus the Seahawks in the third quarter. |
Caldwell ripped off his helmet in pain after taking a shot to the kidney from Seahawks safety Chris Maragos. Caldwell was expected to push for the third receiver job, but he's clearly behind Brandon Stokley, who led the first-team offense with 41 yards on three catches. Caldwell does, however, seem to have taken over as the primary kickoff returner with Matthew Willis on punts. |

Thu Jul 26 2012 | 20:34 | Broncos WR Caldwell pushing for playing time |
The Denver Post expects Andre Caldwell to "push hard for prime playing time" at wide receiver this season. |
Caldwell showed a "quick rapport" with Peyton Manning and the coaching staff is believed to be fond of his speed. Caldwell isn't likely to push starters Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker for playing time, but he should be the favorite for the No.3 role. |

Wed Mar 21 2012 | 20:22 | Broncos sign WR Andre Caldwell |
Broncos signed WR Andre Caldwell, formerly of the Bengals. |
It's a two-year deal, per Profootballtalk.com. Caldwell ran a 4.37 at 6-foot-1, 209 at the 2008 Combine, but he doesn't play nearly that fast. His career yards-per-catch average is 9.5. In Denver, Caldwell figures to compete for third receiver duties and play on special teams. He is a willing blocker, and can play both the Z (flanker) and slot positions on offense. With Peyton Manning at the helm, it's certainly not out of the question that Caldwell will come into some 2012 fantasy value. |

Mon Jan 16 2012 | 13:10 | Andre Caldwell not expected back in Cincy |
In addition to Jerome Simpson, Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer does not envision free agent Andre Caldwell back with the Bengals in 2012. |
Reedy was just answering a Twitter question, but he's as plugged into the Bengals' thinking as any beat writer in the NFL. Caldwell ran 4.37 at 6'0/209 coming out of Florida in 2008, but he's been strictly a possession threat at the NFL level. With ex-Bengals OC Bob Bratkowski now coordinating the offense in Jacksonville, the Jags may give Caldwell a look as a third receiver. |

Tue Dec 27 2011 | 14:56 | Bengals place WR Caldwell on I.R. |
Bengals placed WR Andre Caldwell (groin) on injured reserve, ending his season. |
The 2008 third-rounder may have played his last down with the Bengals, as he's set to enter free agency in the offseason. Caldwell will finish the season with 317 yards and three TDs on 37 receptions. He's yet to top 450 yards in a season. |

Sat Dec 24 2011 | 11:59 | Andre Caldwell inactive for Bengals |
Bengals declared Andre Caldwell (groin) inactive for Saturday's Week 16 game against the Cardinals. |
Caldwell's groin/abdominal injury is serious enough that he went to see a specialist this week. He may be done for the year. The rest of the Bengals' inactives: RB Brian Leonard, TE Colin Cochart, G Otis Hudson, DT Nick Hayden, LB Dontay Moch and S Robert Sands. |

Thu Dec 22 2011 | 11:08 | Andre Caldwell goes to see a specialist |
Andre Caldwell visited a specialist Wednesday regarding his groin/abdominal injury. |
Caldwell isn't expected to play in Week 16 and is in danger of getting shut down. It sounds like it could be a sports hernia. Andrew Hawkins will pick up snaps in the slot. |

Tue Dec 20 2011 | 13:06 | Andre Caldwell may miss final two games |
Bengals WR Andre Caldwell is in danger of missing the final two regular season games with an abdominal/groin injury. |
Caldwell, who is in a contract year, revealed that he originally suffered the injury in training camp and it's just now catching up to him. It kept him out of Week 15. Undrafted rookie Andrew Hawkins is Caldwell's backup in the slot. |

Mon Dec 19 2011 | 11:03 | Lewis hints at nagging injuries for Caldwell |
Coach Marvin Lewis suggested that nagging injuries led to Andre Caldwell's Week 15 deactivation. |
Caldwell, who was inactive for the first time since Week 1 of the 2010 season, was not listed on the injury report. "He never complains but he has been battling through some stuff," said Lewis. "I can see that something ain't right." Rookie Ryan Whalen had one catch for seven yards in Caldwell's place. |

Sun Dec 18 2011 | 11:36 | Andre Caldwell leads Bengals inactives |
Bengals WR Andre Caldwell is inactive for Week 15 against the Rams. |
Caldwell is not injured, and the Bengals are calling his deactivation a "coach's decision." Sixth-round rookie Ryan Whalen is active in his place, while Andrew Hawkins is expected to man the slot. Also inactive for the Bengals are RT Andre Smith, S Robert Sands, FB Chris Pressley, RB Brian Leonard, LB Dontay Moch and G Otis Hudson. |

Sun Nov 27 2011 | 17:08 | Andre Caldwell gets three catches |
Andre Caldwell caught three passes for 24 yards in Sunday's win over the Browns. |
With A.J. Green (knee) healthy, Caldwell went back to his slot role. He saw just three targets all day and is back off the fantasy radar. |

Sun Nov 20 2011 | 17:20 | Caldwell reels in third touchdown in loss |
Andre Caldwell caught three passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. |
Caldwell never broke stride in hauling in a 49-yard scoring strike fron Andy Dalton early in the fourth quarter. His third touchdown of the season was his second in three weeks. Averaging 3.2 catches for 28.3 yards, Caldwell still isn't more than a desperation fantasy option at receiver. |

Fri Nov 18 2011 | 10:14 | Caldwell in line for spot start in Week 11? |
Andre Caldwell will start opposite Jerome Simpson in Week 11 if A.J. Green (knee) can't go. |
The Bengals' passing game could go south in a tough matchup against the Ravens, as Caldwell has just a fraction of Green's play-making ability. Averaging just 25 yards per game over the past three years, Caldwell isn't a viable WR3/4 option. |

Sun Nov 6 2011 | 20:31 | Caldwell scores a touchdown in Week 9 win |
Andre Caldwell caught five balls for 22 yards with a touchdown in Week 9 against the Titans. |
He was targeted nine times and had one drop, but did well to sit in a goal line zone for his touchdown catch. On pace for 52 receptions and just under 400 yards, he needs to produce much more before he's worth a look in PPR leagues. He has just two touchdowns on the year. |

Sun Oct 30 2011 | 20:06 | Andre Caldwell gets four grabs in win |
Andre Caldwell caught four passes for 31 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. |
Even though Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) was inactive, Caldwell saw only six targets underneath. He's averaging just 3.0 catches for 24.7 yards through seven games this season. |

Sun Oct 16 2011 | 16:45 | Caldwell catches four balls in win |
Andre Caldwell caught four passes for 32 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts. |
Caldwell worked the slot nicely, catching all four of his targets and sitting down in zones nicely. But he's the No. 4 option in a passing game that doesn't have much upside with Andy Dalton managing the game. Avoid. |

Sun Sep 25 2011 | 12:45 | Andre Caldwell starting, but Simpson inactive |
Andre Caldwell is expected to start in Sunday's game against the 49ers, but Jerome Simpson is active. |
Per the Cincinnati Enquirer, "how much playing time Simpson sees today remains to be seen." As a meager talent without a guarantee of a full load of snaps, Caldwell is a weak fantasy play. The Bengals are operating under the mantra of "innocent until proven guilty" for now with Simpson. |

Wed Sep 21 2011 | 13:54 | Andre Caldwell now Bengals slot receiver |
Andre Caldwell will replace Jordan Shipley as the Bengals' full-time slot receiver for the rest of the season. |
Shipley is on I.R. with a torn ACL. The slot receiver position has been weeded out of new coordinator Jay Gruden's offense a bit because the Bengals now use so many two-wide sets. Shipley was playing roughly 50 percent of the snaps. |
