Wed Aug 12 201518:26Hector Olivera: (Hamstring) Set For Rehab Assignment
Olivera (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Braves on Thursday, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
The 30-year-old has been deemed ready for live at-bats after missing more than seven weeks with a hamstring strain. Olivera is expected to play just two or three games in the GCL before moving up to a more advanced affiliate, with a health evaluation planned after a total of 5-to-7 games. The key return for Atlanta in the Alex Wood deal, Olivera could join the Braves in an everyday role before the end of August.

Olivera (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab stint in short order, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Olivera has been battling a nagging hamstring injury, but he's considered close to returning to action, and he's expected back in the major league lineup before the end of the month. Olivera, a Cuban defector, hit .348 with seven RBI in 69 at-bats across three levels of the Dodgers' farm system earlier this season, prior to being dealt to Atlanta at the deadline.

Olivera (hamstring) could be activated in about two weeks, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
President of Baseball Operations John Hart suggested Olivera, the Braves' big acquisition in a three-team deal with the Marlins and Dodgers, is only a couple weeks away from contributing to the major league club. The 30-year-old should take on an everyday role with Atlanta once deemed completely healthy, after batting .348/.392/.493 with two homers in 19 games in the Dodgers' minor league system.

Olivera (hamstring) could be ready to play in games within the next week to 10 days, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
The Braves gave up quite a bit to land Olivera, but in the 30-year-old they get what's expected to an impact bat at an average of $6.5 million per year over the next five seasons. Olivera batted .348/.392/.493 in the Dodgers' minor league system before hitting the shelf with the hamstring injury. He may only need a handful of rehab games before taking on an everyday role in the Atlanta lineup.
Thu Jul 30 201514:57Hector Olivera: (Hamstring) Traded To Braves
Olivera (hamstring) was traded to the Braves on Thursday as part of a three-team, 13-player deal, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Olivera will be the biggest non-major league player moved in the trade, as he will now head to Atlanta. The Braves reportedly wanted Olivera when he defected from Cuba, but will now receive his contract at a cheaper rate with the Dodgers paying his bonus. He's injured currently, but it wouldn't be surprising if he surfaces in the majors at some point yet this season.

Olivera was reportedly offered in a three-team deal with the Marlins and Braves, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
The three-team deal would send Olivera to the Braves and Mat Latos and Michael Morse from the Marlins to the Dodgers. The deal has not been confirmed and includes many moving parts between the teams. Olivera has been battling a hamstring injury after the Dodgers signed him to a $62.5 million deal.
Mon Jul 27 201520:46Olivera (hamstring) has resumed running and hitting off tee
Olivera (hamstring) has resumed running and hitting off a tee, but still remains on the 7-day DL at Triple-A Oklahoma City, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.
The Dodgers have issued no timetable for Olivera's return, but it does sound like his condition is progressing in the right direction. Untimely injuries along with the Dodgers' considerable depth in the infield have delayed Olivera's arrival to the big leagues, and even as the Cuban import's health takes a turn for the better, it's still difficult to see a spot where the big club might be able to find him consistent at-bats.
Fri Jul 24 201510:07Olivera currently on 7-day DL at Triple-A Oklahoma City
Olivera, who has been slowed by a hamstring injury in recent weeks, is currently on the 7-day DL at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
He was playing in games with the Dodgers' Arizona rookie league affiliate earlier this month, but Olivera hasn't appeared in a game since July 13. Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi said that the team will be conservative with Olivera's workload, as the injury has the potential to linger if he's rushed back too quickly. If Olivera is healthy enough to get back on the field at Triple-A before the end of the minor league season, it's reasonable to think a late-season taste of Los Angeles is still a possibility.
