Sun Dec 5 2010 | 12:43 | Report: Figaro negotiating with Orix Buffalo |
Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker reports that the Orix Buffaloes are negotiating with Alfredo Figaro. |
Figaro, 26, was 10-6 with a 4.14 ERA in 23 starts for Triple-A Toledo in 2010. He hasn't been as impressive in the big leagues, posting a 6.54 career ERA in 13 appearances with the Tigers over the last two years. Orix also has interest in Mike Hessman, who elected to become a free agent after spending this past season in the Mets' organization. The 32-year-old mashed again at the Triple-A level, but batted just .127 with one home run and 23 strikeouts in 55 at-bats with the big club. Both Figaro and Hessman look like Quad-A players, so Japan could be an interesting alternative option for them. |
