Fri Aug 10 201222:44Ruggiano homers again in loss to Dodgers
Justin Ruggiano homered for the second straight game, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Dodgers on Friday.
Ruggiano finished the night 1-for-4 with the first inning solo blast off Clayton Kershaw. He's been afforded the opportunity to play on a nightly basis and has responded in a big way thus far, hitting .350 with 10 homers, 25 RBI and 10 steals in just 160 at-bats. While this level of production obviously isn't sustainable, his power/speed package should remain an asset for the remainder of the season and he should be started in all fantasy formats.

Justin Ruggiano went 2-for-4 and homered for the Marlins' only run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.
Ruggiano's average was on the decline before the series, but he went 6-for-12 in the three games against the Mets. It'll take quite a slump to knock him out of the Marlins' lineup.

Fri Jun 29 201222:14Ruggiano has big night as Fish top Phillies
Justin Ruggiano had a nice night at the dish on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the Marlins 6-2 win over the Phillies.
He also scored a run and swiped his second base of the season. While the sample size is obviously very small, Ruggiano has done a tremendous job in his brief time with the Marlins. He's now hitting .388 (19-for-49) with two homers and eight RBI, and has seemingly played his way into more playing time in the Marlins outfield.

Sun Jun 3 201212:38Justin Ruggiano to see more playing time
Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen plans to give Justin Ruggiano more playing time.
"I like that kid Ruggiano," Guillen said. "I like his approach at the plate." Ruggiano belted a pinch-hit homer Friday, which earned him a start in left field Saturday, and he responded with an RBI double. The 30-year-old was on the bench again Sunday, though, with Greg Dobbs drawing the start in left. It's possible Ruggiano could produce some NL-only value with regular at-bats.

Mon Jul 4 201116:46Justin Ruggiano goes 0-for-4 in loss
Justin Ruggiano went 0-for-4 in a second straight game Monday against the Twins.
Ruggiano didn't play much at all during the last week of June, but he went 2-for-3 with a homer Saturday and then started each of the last two games. Now that the Rays are back in AL parks and Johnny Damon can DH regularly, the opportunity is there for Ruggiano to get most of the playing time in left field. He'll need to produce, though, and he's just 4-for-28 since June 15.

Tue Jun 7 201100:46Ruggiano hits second homer in win
Justin Ruggiano went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tampa Bay's 5-1 win over the Angels on Monday.
Both the home run and three-RBI night were Ruggiano's second in four games. He's still just three for his first 16 this season, but considering two of those hits are home runs, he's worth monitoring in deeper AL-only leagues. That won't be the case if Desmond Jennings soon gets the call, however.
