Wed Apr 3 201316:21Worley to pitch for Twins on Saturday
Vance Worley will make his next start Saturday against the Orioles.
Worley was originally expected to pitch Sunday, but the Twins will move him up in the rotation in order to give Cole DeVries (forearm) an extra day to get ready. It's not a big deal, as Worley will be on regular rest. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed three runs over six innings Monday in his Opening Day start against the Tigers.

Vance Worley allowed four runs -- three earned -- in two innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Marlins.
Worley gave up six hits, walked one and struck out one. He's not going to have the same caliber of defense in Minnesota that he'd gotten used to in Philadelphia, and those outings in which it seems like everything is falling in will likely be more plentiful this year.

Vance Worley allowed two hits over two scoreless innings Monday in the Twins' 5-4 win over the Pirates.

Wed Aug 29 201211:14Worley says elbow not to blame for struggles
Vance Worley said that the health of his right elbow isn't to blame for his recent struggles.
Worley has been pitching with loose bodies in his right elbow since May and will require offseason surgery, but he doesn't want to use it as an excuse. "It hasn't affected me," said Worley, who has a 5.80 ERA in 11 starts since the start of July. "I'm just not getting pitches where I need to get them. It's all about pitch location. That's why I got beat tonight and pulled from the game. I don't feel anything at all. I'm just having a tough stretch." It doesn't sound like the Phillies will shut Worley down, but he can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Mon Aug 13 201221:37Phils haven't discussing shutdown for Worley
The Phillies haven't discussed shutting down Vance Worley.
Worley is currently pitching through a bone chip in his elbow which will require surgery. With the Phillies out of the race, some have speculated that he could have the surgery now to begin the rehab process sooner, but the Phillies have no current plans to go that route. "My understanding is the issue isn't going to take a whole offseason to recover from," said Phillies assistant general manager Scott Proefrock. "As long as he can still pitch and there's not a risk of him hurting himself ... and from everything I understand, there's no issue there." Worley has a 3.97 ERA and 97/42 K/BB ratio over 118 innings this season.
