C Joakim Noah was rumored to have asked to play with the second unit. "Did he specifically say 'I want to come off the bench'?' No," Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said. "Nobody wants to come off the bench, but it's the decision we came up with."

Noah (knee) will remain out of the Bulls' lineup for Monday's preseason tilt with the Pelicans, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Though the Bulls are labeling Noah's injury as left knee swelling, for all intents and purposes, his absence is precautionary. He's expected to make his return to preseason action Wednesday against the Pistons, displacing Nikola Mirotic from the starting lineup.

Noah (knee) did not play Saturday against the Timberwolves.
The Bulls continue to proceed with caution with Noah this preseason after he struggled with injuries for much of last year. While he is still expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, there is a possibility that his minutes will be limited for at least the rest of the preseason if not into the start of the regular season.

Noah (knee) was held out of of Thursday's game after playing just 14:35 due to swelling in his left knee, but he indicated after the game that he would have played if allowed to, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Noah said he "absolutely" would have returned to the game if given the opportunity, but the Bulls decided to rest him due to the nature of the game. It's worth watching as it's always possible the injury could arise again in the regular season, but this removal appears precautionary.

Noah intimated that his role with the Bulls may change next season under new head coach Fred Hoiberg, ESPN reports. "...Fred will do what he wants to do," Noah said. "Those aren't things I can control. I just want to go in camp and be as ready as possible and go from there."
There have been rumors bubbling for most of the summer, and it appears Noah may get moved to a bench role in favor of giving 24-year-old sophomore forward Nikola Mirotic one of the team's starting roles in the frontcourt. Noah struggled through injuries last season, gutting out 31 minutes per game through 67 contests. He's been working at Peak Performance Project (P3) this offseason, having trainers help him correct some of the biomechanical flaws in the way he moves, and Noah believes he's healthy now. If he can stay healthy and have a good camp, Noah could remain a significant part of the rotation even if he moves to the bench.

Noah feels incredibly healthy and doesn't believe he'll be under a minute restriction this season, Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago reports.
Noah has played at least 70 games only three times in his career, and two of those instances arose in his first two years in the league. Noah was incredibly limited last season due to knee issues, and there were reports of former coach Tom Thibedou ignoring management's imposed minute limit on Noah. Even if he's fully healthy, Noah must compete with a fully stocked frontcourt under a new coach, and his pinnacle fantasy relevance occurred when Derrick Rose was sidelined.

Noah played in 67 games for the Bulls this season and averaged 7.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
Noah struggled with knee issues all season after having surgery last summer and looked lost offensively at times, especially in the playoffs. It was unlikely that he was going to match last year's production of 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game, but he really took a step backwards this season. He is still one of the best passing centers in the league, but his fantasy value really takes a hit if he can't score and shoots 44.5 percent from the field like he did this season. The summer off might be just what the doctor ordered for his knee, but he will be a big question mark heading into the 2015-16 campaign.

Noah grabbed 11 rebounds Thursday in a Game 6 loss to the Cavaliers, but was limited to just four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and one block in 35 minutes.
While Noah's scoring totals fell off toward the end of the year anyway, his quiet production in the playoffs came as somewhat of a surprise. He had three games in the series against the Cavs with just four points, and shot 33.3 percent from the floor, including an 0-for-4 night in Game 1.

Noah scored eight points (4-12 FG) to go along with 15 rebounds, two steals and one block in 37 minutes in Game 4 Sunday against the Cavaliers.
One of the best passing centers in the league, Noah didn't dish out a single assist Sunday in what was an offensive struggle for both teams. He saw an increased role with Pau Gasol (hamstring) out of action Sunday and would see increased minutes again in Game 5 Tuesday should Gasol sit again.

Noah struggled from the field in Game 3 against the Cavaliers, going just 1-for-8 for four points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks in 22 minutes of action.
Noah will need to come up big over the next few games if Pau Gasol misses time, as the Bulls need a consistent force down low. It's encouraging to know that Noah will rack up boards and defensive stats even if he's not scoring, but the Bulls could certainly use more assists from the center, who averaged 4.7 during the regular season, but didn't notch a single dime in Game 3.

Noah (illness) struggled in Game 1 Monday against the Cavaliers as he was held scoreless (0-4 FG, 0-2 FT) in 29 minutes. He was able to contribute nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Noah looked bad Monday as he was often forced to guard a smaller player on the perimeter. He missed a wide open layup on one possession and looked bad on his free-throws as well. He is never going to be counted on to score a ton, but he could be in for a rough series if he continues to deal with these unusual defensive assignments.

Noah took part in most of Saturday's practice, despite feeling "a little sick," ESPN Chicago reports.
The Bulls don't open the Eastern Conference semifinals at Cleveland until Monday, leaving Noah an additional day to recover. In the six-game series win against the Bucks, he managed to average 6.5 points (on 48 percent shooting), 11.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 block in 33 minutes.

Noah had his best game of the series Thursday in a Game 6 victory, scoring 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 FT) and grabbing 10 boards in 25 minutes.
Noah was quiet offensively for much of this first-round series, only scoring a combined 18 points through the first four games. However, in the six games against the Bucks, he averaged 11.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Noah scored 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 FT) with 13 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a steal in 32 minutes during Monday's Game 5 loss to the Bucks.
Although he's pulled down double digit boards in four of five games so far in the series, this was Noah's first game scoring in double digits as well. He'll continue to focus on cleaning the glass Thursday in Game 6.

Noah scored six points (3-9 FG) to go along with 19 rebounds, five assists and one block in 32 minutes Monday in Game 2 against the Bucks.
Noah was great on the glass and defensively in a big win Monday. He looked to be playing with a lot of energy and is no longer on any minutes restrictions.

Noah scored six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 FT) with 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in 35 minutes Saturday.
Noah, who missed the last two regular season games, appeared unrestricted in his 35 minutes Saturday, and was his usual active self on offense and defense. Noah suffered a dramatic drop off across the board this season with the arrival of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic, but his energy and defensive acumen will be key factors in the Bulls' playoff push.

Noah (hamstring) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's playoff opener against Milwaukee.
Noah was held out of Wednesday's regular season finale due to a hamstring injury, but he is in the starting lineup Saturday. Taj Gibson will return to the bench after starting in Noah's place in the finale.
Fri Apr 17 201513:49Noah (hamstring) will play Saturday against Bucks
Noah (hamstring) will play Saturday against the Bucks, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports.
Noah, as expected, will not miss any playoff games after sitting out the Bulls' last two games. He's been battling hamstring and knee issues, but neither injury looks to be serious. Coach Tom Thibodeau said Noah will see his usual complement of minutes to begin the series.
Fri Apr 17 201509:03Joakim Noah: (Hamstring) Expected To Play Saturday
Noah (hamstring) is expected to play in Saturday's opener against the Bucks, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Noah sat out the final two games of the regular season to rest his sore hamstring but there's not much concern moving forward since the rest was just precautionary. The 30-year-old will be playing without a minutes restriction for the first time in a while against the Bucks, although his cap was set around 30-32 minutes per game at the end of the season which is certainly still a hefty workload. He'll look to anchor the Bulls on defense throughout their playoff campaign and should be a serviceable option across all postseason formats.
