Sat Apr 9 201100:25Dom McGuire plays well in loss to Heat
Dominic McGuire came off the bench for Stephen Jackson on Friday and had 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 24 minutes.
He arguably outplayed starter Dante Cunningham and could be a sneaky deep-league add down the stretch, as Charlotte has nothing left to play for, other than getting a look at their scrubs.

Mon Mar 7 201122:48McGuire starts for injured Jackson on Mon
Dominic McGuire started for injured Stephen Jackson (hamstring) on Monday, and finished with two points on 1-of-4 shooting, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 28 minutes.
If you're desperate for defensive stats and rebounding give him look, but he has no guarantee to start going forward and once Jackson returns his limited value will be crushed.

Mon Mar 7 201111:53McGuire to start in place of injured Jackson
Dominic McGuire will get the start Monday night in place of the injured Stephen Jackson (hamstring).
McGuire will have his hands full covering Blake Griffin. Don't expect to see a big line out of him tonight.

Sun Mar 6 201101:04McGuire starts for Bobcats (quietly)
Dominic McGuire started in place of injured Stephen Jackson (hamstring) on Saturday and had just four points, six rebounds and two assists in the loss.
He was a -16 tonight and has no fantasy value, especially once Jackson is back from his injury.

Sat Mar 5 201101:32McGuire could benefit from Jackson injury
Dominic McGuire played 23 minutes off the bench on Friday, scoring six points on 3-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists, and a block.
The Bobcats' TV crew talked about him being the replacement for Stephen Jackson (hamstring) tonight, but there really isn't a beneficiary that we can see if S-Jax misses time, until one is announced. McGuire would theoretically fit the role, but that surround D.J. Augustin with four inept offensive offensive players, or three if Boris Diaw decides it's time to play.

Thu Mar 3 201115:12Bobcats bring back McGuire
Bobcats re-signed F Dominic McGuire.
McGuire appeared in 34 games earlier this year for the Bobcats and averaged just 13.2 minutes per game. The defensive-minded forward will provide wing depth.

Wed Mar 2 201115:09Bobcats could bring back McGuire
The Bobcats are considering re-signing Dominic McGuire to fill the open spot on their roster.
The team cut McGuire as part of its pre-deadline trading, but it sounds like he could be back with the team before long. McGuire is averaging 3.1 points and 3.7 rebounds this season.

Mon Dec 27 201018:11Dom McGuire dactivated for Bobcats
Dominic McGuire is on the inactive list for Monday's game against the Pistons.
This is not a big deal in fantasy, but it is interesting since Larry Brown had been starting McGuire in place of injured Gerald Wallace. Gerald Henderson will start tonight, but isn't like to be worth owning in most leagues, at least for now.

Tue Dec 21 201003:17McGuire follows big game with stinker
Dominic McGuire, coming off an eight-point, 17 rebound game on Friday, started again for injured Gerald Wallace (ankle) and did not score on two shot attempts and had six rebounds, one assist, and a block in 21 minutes on Monday.
He'll likely get another start on Tuesday with Wallace doubtful to play, but after that his days of fantasy relevance are over.
Fri Dec 17 201023:50McGuire racking up boards for Cats
Dominic McGuire started again for Gerald Wallace Friday and had eight points and 17 rebounds, but hit just 3-of-12 shots.
The 17 boards were nice and he had seven of them in his previous game. His run will be short-lived though, as he'll return to obscurity once Wallace is back from his ankle injury.
Thu Dec 16 201000:41McGuire starts for G Wallace in blowout loss
Dominic McGuire started for the Bobcats on Wednesday and had eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks in a blowout loss to the Grizzlies.
Gerald Wallace was out with an ankle injury and could miss more time, so keep an eye on McGuire in deeper leagues.
Thu Dec 2 201001:43McGuire starts, scores two points in loss
Dominic McGuire started for Charlotte on Wednesday in the absence of Stephen Jackson, who was sitting out a one-game suspension.
McGuire had just two points and eight rebounds on 1-of-8 shooting, meaning you can forget about him in fantasy unless Jackson goes down with a long-term injury.
Wed Dec 1 201009:19McGuire to start in place of Captain Jack?
Beat writer Rick Bonnell guesses that Dominic McGuire will start in place of Stephen Jackson (suspension) Wednesday.
Coach Larry Brown hasn't announced a decision yet, but McGuire is the logical choice. He gives the Bobcats a defensive presence and is coming off a performance that Brown called "phenomenal." Regardless, McGuire won't be worth an add with Captain Jack only suspended one game.

Sun Nov 28 201000:16McGuire double-doubles with 13 pts, 15 rebs
Dominic McGuire double-doubled off the bench with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting with 15 rebounds and two blocks in 31 minutes.
There were a few more minutes all the way around with Stephen Jackson getting ejected after five minutes to start the game, but the big story is Gerald Wallace's apparently serious elbow injury. Larry Brown's man-love for McGuire is well-chronicled, and regardless of whether he starts or not, if Wallace misses time then McGuire could be a good source of blocks, steals, and rebounds.
Sat Nov 20 201022:48McGuire (shin splints) returns on Saturday
Dominic McGuire (shin splints) returned to action on Saturday, scoring no points on five shot attempts with three rebounds, three assists, and a block in 18 minutes.
He has no real fantasy value on his own, but the Larry Brown favorite could possibly cut into the minutes of Tyrus Thomas and Boris Diaw, albeit only slightly. Don't downgrade the projections for either of them, however, until we see it happen.
Wed Nov 17 201013:26McGuire practices for first time since camp
Dominic McGuire (stress fracture in shin) practiced for the first time since training camp on Wednesday.
No official word on when McGuire might be back in action, but previous reports had him sidelined for six weeks from mid-October (in other words, early December). McGuire will likely be fighting for minutes off the bench upon his return.

Sat Oct 16 201022:21McGuire injury could keep him out six weeks
Dominic McGuire, who had what was thought to be a minor bruised shin, actually has a stress fracture that will keep him out for six weeks.
Larry Brown said he felt guilty for encouraging him to play through it now knowing the severity of the injury. This is good news for Tyrus Thomas who should see a few more minutes as a result.

Tue Oct 12 201004:22McGuire sits out with sore left shin
Dominic McGuire missed Monday's practice due to a bruised shin.
Larry Brown is real high on McGuire's potential, but it remains to be seen if that can be translated into good minutes. He could have value in deeper Roto leagues due to his all-around game and defensive stats, but he's unlikely to get the minutes to make that a reality.
Tue Sep 28 201010:17LB likes McGuire already
Bobcats coach Larry Brown raved Monday about defensive-minded forward Dominic McGuire.
"Dominic McGuire is going to surprise a lot of people," Brown said. "I know nobody knows about him, he hasn't played, but he's going to be a big part of our team." McGuire is the exact kind of player Brown loves, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. He'll get decent burn off the bench as a glue guy and defensive stopper.
