Mon Jan 3 201113:49Sonny Weems out Tuesday, doubtful Wed.
Raptors swingman Sonny Weems (back) will not travel with the team to Chicago for Tuesday's game.
This makes eight straight DNPs for Weems, and it also seems very doubtful that he'll join the team in Cleveland on Wednesday. Ignore him until we see signs of his returning to health.
Sun Jan 2 201111:15Sonny Weems not likely for Sunday again
Sonny Weems' back injury doesn't appear to be getting better and he's not expected to play on Sunday against the Celtics.
Information has been terribly thin regarding his injury, but until we get some good news, it appears Weems will remained shelved. And if you own Linas Kleiza, this is a good thing.

Fri Dec 31 201011:40Sonny Weems (back) out Friday
Raptors swingman Sonny Weems won't play on Friday as he recovers from a back injury.
Weems has been scoring the ball well this season, but he doesn't hit 3s or get many steals or assists -- and his fantasy stock keeps sinking with every game Linas Kleiza thrives in his absence.

Tue Dec 28 201020:22Weems (back) out for Tuesday's game
Sonny Weems (back) did not play in Tuesday's game against the Mavs.
Linas Kleiza is taking advantage of his chance and Weems isn't guaranteed of anything when he returns, particularly with Jay Triano's history of letting players lose their jobs to injury. Weems' back injury is a mystery, as well, with Triano commenting last week that they weren't sure what it was.

Tue Dec 28 201014:58Weems questionable w/ back spasms
Sonny Weems remains questionable for Tuesday's game as he recovers from back spasms.
Weems appears to be a game-time decision, which opens the door for another big game from Linas Kleiza. It remains to be seen whether he'll move back into the starting lineup, but typically players don't lose their starting jobs due to injury.

Mon Dec 27 201009:32Sonny Weems still out w/ back spasms
Sonny Weems (back spasms) remains day-to-day as the Raptors head into Monday's matchup with the Grizzlies.
When asked how his back felt, Weems responded with "an expletive." Linas Kleiza has emerged as a solid fantasy option in his absence, but the two seem bound to dent one another's production.

Wed Dec 22 201018:48Sonny Weems out again on Wednesday
Back spasms will keep Sonny Weems out of the lineup for the Raptors again on Wednesday.
That means Linas Kleiza gets another start, and will be joined by Jose Calderon, DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson and Andrea Bargnani.

Wed Dec 22 201012:49Weems doubtful for Wednesday
Sonny Weems (back) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
This will mark the third straight game Weems has missed, allowing Linas Kleiza to gain some fantasy relevance. There is no word on when Weems will return.

Linas Kleiza started and played well on Friday, and will likely start again today.

Fri Dec 17 201019:51Sonny Weems out Friday with back spasms
Sonny Weems missed Friday's game with back spasms.
That explains why Linas Kleiza started tonight, although it's also possible he could keep the job going forward.
Sun Dec 12 201000:33Weems held to two points on Saturday
Sonny Weems, coming off a 21-point outing on Friday, was held to two points on 1-of-3 shooting with no rebounds and one assist in just 19 minutes of action.
Herein lies the problem with all of Toronto's wing players. Whether they start or not, or get hot, they simply cannot be trusted on a game-to-game basis. At this point, Weems should only be owned in deeper leagues and only as a roster stash.
Fri Dec 10 201023:23Weems scores 21 points with seven rebounds
Sonny Weems played 38 minutes and scored 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the Raptors' 123-116 loss to the Nuggets on Friday.
Perhaps this is a sign that he's ready to get his act together. As a starter, we're more inclined to take a look at him rather than some of the other big lines we saw out of Leandro Barbosa (22 points) and Linas Kleiza (26 points, 12 rebounds) tonight.
Mon Dec 6 201022:07Weems plays just 19 minutes on Monday
Sonny Weems played just 19 minutes in Monday's blowout loss, scoring eight points on 3-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
The Raps have been in three straight blowout games, so it's tough to read the rotations, but with the wing so crowded in Toronto owners need to be quick to move on if a guy isn't getting it done. Weems falls into that category right now.
Fri Nov 26 201023:59Weems goes 0-for-9 in loss
Sonny Weems missed all nine of his shots and failed to score in 18 minutes on Friday.
He played 35 minutes in his last one but still scored just eight points, after scoring in double digits in eight straight before that game. Things are getting very crowded on the wings in Toronto and our guess is different guys are going to take turns having big lines every night. In other words, Weems may be too inconsistent going forward to keep on your roster.
Sun Nov 21 201016:13Weems goes for 16 points, five boards Sunday
Sonny Weems started and played 36 minutes on Sunday, going 8-of-20 from the field to score 16 points with five rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.
The most important thing to take from Sunday is that his minutes were not impacted by the return of Leandro Barbosa, who played in his first game since Nov. 8. At this juncture, Weems is clearly the guy to own between Barbosa and Linas Kleiza. Kleiza came off the bench on Sunday and scored just two points with three rebounds in 21 minutes.
Wed Nov 17 201022:23Sonny Weems scores career-high 25 in win
Sonny Weems got another start over Linas Kleiza and scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting in 42 minutes on Wednesday.
He added four boards, two assists and a 3-pointer on the night, and may have permanently locked up the starting job over Kleiza (1-of-7, three points). If Weems is available in your league, he should be picked up immediately after starting and hitting double figures in his sixth straight game.
Wed Nov 17 201018:50Sonny Weems still starting over Kleiza
Sonny Weems will make another start for Linas Kleiza, who is back and healthy for the Raptors.
OK, we're going to go ahead and bump Weems in front of Kleiza on the depth chart, but this is still anyone's job. If you were on the fence about picking up the red-hot Weems, this could be your sign to go ahead and do it.

Tue Nov 16 201021:58Weems scores 16 points with two threes
Sonny Weems started at SF instead of Linas Kleiza, who returned from an Achilles' injury for Tuesday's game, and scored 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting (2-of-2 from downtown) with three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes.
Weems has been getting some love from owners off the waiver wire, and tonight's performance did nothing to make them regret it. He looked sharp and put up his numbers while Linas Kleiza got his too, scoring 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five rebounds. We'll watch to see if the change is permanent.
Tue Nov 16 201018:37Weems gets another start for Kleiza
Despite the fact Linas Kleiza is back in action for the Raptors on Tuesday, Sonny Weems will start and Kleiza will come off the bench.
It's hard to say if the move is permanent or not, but our guess is Kleiza will eventually get his job back. If you picked up Weems recently, this has to be exciting news.
Sat Nov 13 201019:09Weems to start Saturday vs. Heat
Forward Sonny Weems will start for injured Linas Kleiza (Achilles) on Saturday against the Heat.
He is certainly worth a look if you're in a pinch, as he has shown he can fill it up when given the time, even if he doesn't do much else. If he continues to play well he could end up challenging Kleiza for minutes.
