Mon Jan 12 201514:48Pekovic (ankle) full participant in Monday's practice
Pekovic (ankle) was a full participant in Monday's practice, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Pekovic last played on Nov. 15 and has spent the last two months recovering from an ankle injury. Coach Flip Saunders said over the weekend that both Pekovic and Kevin Martin (wrist) could return this week, but he did not offer anything definitive. Saunders has also noted on multiple occasions that Pekovic could spend time in the D-League before returning, so if that is indeed the case, an assignment should come this week.

Pekovic (ankle) will resume light contact this week, as his MRI results came back clean, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Pekovic will continue to gradually increase his contact, and may even see some work in the D-League to get him up to game speed before returning to NBA action. He'll compete for minutes with Gorgui Dieng upon his return to the court.
Mon Jan 5 201514:33Pekovic (ankle) set to undergo MRI this week and
Pekovic (ankle) is set to undergo an MRI this week and, if cleared, could begin light contact drills, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.
Pekovic hasn't played since mid-November and remains without a firm return timetable. He began participating in shooting drills and running on an anti-gravity treadmill last week, and if the MRI comes back clean, he could return to the practice court within the next few days. However, he'll likely require considerable time to work his way back into game shape, and coach Flip Saunders previously stated that the team plans to assign Pekovic to the D-League once he's ready for full contact.

Pekovic (ankle) has started shooting drills but won't be cleared to run until he gets a MRI in Minnesota after the team's current road trip, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
It sounds like Pekovic is getting close to be able to practice. However, head coach Flip Saunders said Pekovic will play in the D-League before returning to the Timberwolves roster. It sounds like Pekovic could return in late January if all goes well.
Sat Dec 27 201410:29Pekovic has started running on anti-gravity treadmill
Pekovic has started running on an anti-gravity treadmill, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Head coach Flip Saunders said Pekovic will play in the D-League before returning to the Timberwolves roster.
The device allows Pekovic to run without bearing weight on his ankle. He's finally making some progress, but it sounds like he's still weeks away from returning.

Pekovic (ankle) hopes to begin running again on Saturday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Pekovic missed 28 games last season with an injury to his same ankle and has missed 16 games so far this season. While it's good he's starting to make some progress, there's no timetable for his return and it may be best to expect the worst.

Pekovic, who has been sidelined with a sore wrist, had a setback to his oft-injured ankle and may not return until mid-January, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Uh oh, this is worrisome news as Pekovic missed 28 games last season with the ankle injury. The injury was especially troublesome for fantasy owners as his return date was a moving target last season. It looks like Pekovic is having a similar pattern with the injury this season, so it's best to assume the worst and expect his return date to keep getting pushed back.
Tue Dec 9 201415:31Pekovic (ankle) continues to be without firm timetable
Pekovic (ankle) continues to be without a firm timetable, and coach Flip Saunders said it might be two weeks before he's able to return, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The details surrounding Pekovic's recovery continue to be rather vague, as the Timberwolves are yet to provide anything in the way of a concrete timetable. Pekovic apparently reaggravated his ankle issue while running during a rehab session recently, and it appears as though he's slated to miss another two weeks, at the minimum, judging from Saunders' words. The coach also stated that he wouldn't rule out sending Pekovic to the D-League for a short period to allow him to work back into game shape before returning to NBA action. Regardless, Gorgui Dieng's spot as the starting center looks to be safe for the next couple of weeks.
Thu Dec 4 201417:17Pekovic (wrist) will miss at least another 10 days
Pekovic (wrist) will miss at least another 10 days, Jon Krawczynski of the AP reports.
Pekovic is hoping to be cleared to practice soon, but coach Flip Saunders said recently that the center will need at least a full week of practice before returning to game action. At this point, Pekovic will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis until he's ready to hit the practice floor. In the meantime, Gorgui Dieng will continue to start at center in his place.

Minnesota head coach Flip Saunders hopes Pekovic will be cleared to practice after he's evaluated next week, but said it will be at least a week of practice before he's game-ready, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
It sounds like Pekovic will be out at least a week even if his evaluation next week goes well. He may not return to mid-December at the earliest even if his wrist improves next week.

Pekovic (wrist) will be evaluated next week before returning to the court, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Pekovic has missed Minnesota's past four games and will likely be sidelined for the near future until he's been reevaluated by the medical staff. As it stands, Gorgui Dieng will likely continue to play as many minutes as he can handle in place of Pekovic.
Wed Nov 26 201411:10Nikola Pekovic: (Wrist) Out Wednesday
Pekovic (wrist) will miss Wednesday's game against the Bucks.
Pekovic was ruled out last week, but coach Flip Saunders had no update on his status after Monday's practice. With the news that he is out Wednesday, Gorgui Dieng will likely receive the start again in his place.

Coach Flip Saunders did not have an update on Pekovic (wrist) at Monday's practice, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Pekovic has missed the last three games with a right wrist injury, and he was also dealing with an ankle issue last week. An update on his status was expected Monday but, for now, owners will have to play the waiting game in advance of Wednesday's matchup with the Bucks. If Pekovic remains out, expect Gorgui Dieng to continue starting in his place.

Pekovic (wrist) sprained his right wrist against Dallas on Saturday and will be out until the beginning of next week, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Pekovic is also dealing with an ankle issue, but coach Flip Saunders said the wrist is what is truly bothering him right now. Sticking by Saunders' timetable, Pekovic will miss at least three games: Wednesday (New York), Friday (San Antonio), and Saturday (Sacramento). The Timberwolves are then off until Wednesday (Nov. 26), when they host the Bucks. Expect Gorgui Dieng to fill in at center while Pekovic is sidelined.
Mon Nov 17 201416:44Pekovic (personal) missed Monday's practice
Pekovic (personal) missed Monday's practice, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The exact reason for Pekovic's absence is unknown, but the center is also dealing with a foot issue, so keep an eye on his status in advance of Wednesday's game. Pekovic was unable to play in the second half of Saturday's game, and the Wolves are yet to update his status. He missed 28 games last season due to a similar foot injury.

Pekovic was unable to get onto the court for the entire second half of Saturday's loss to the Mavericks, due to soreness in the right foot, the same foot that bothered him all of last season, Kent Youngblood of the Star-Tribune reports on Twitter.
The Wolves don't play again until Wednesday, so Pekovic should be considered questionable for that matchup, but now, Pekovic owners should be a little concerned that his injury problems from last season are not behind him. If his owners have space, Gorgui Dieng would be a nice insurance pickup, because when Pekovic sat out last season, Dieng was an extremely valuable fantasy player.

Pekovic scored 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-3 FT), with 13 rebounds, two steals and one block in 28 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Rockets.
Pekovic had a major test inside against Dwight Howard, but still posted a solid stat line. He only played 28 minutes, though, as the Rockets spread the minutes out across the board, with 13 players seeing time on the floor. Pekovic is a player you can rely on pretty consistently to get you a double-double, and he's not a player who puts up many dud games.

Pekovic had 19 points (6-10 FG, 7-7 FT) with 11 rebounds in 30 minutes in the loss to the Heat on Saturday.
Pekovic has three double-doubles in his last five games. He makes up for his lack of shot blocking (just one on the season) with excellence from the free throw line (89.3 percent in his last five games). The Minnesota center has scored at least 16 points in his last five.

Pekovic played 28 minutes Friday against the Magic, his lowest total of the year, scoring 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-5 FT).
Dieng had 25 minutes of the bench, his highest total of the season. Friday's game was close, too, so Dieng certainly wasn't playing garbage time. Pekovic's offensive production has been better than Dieng's, but Dieng has been much better on the defensive end. Owners will want to continue to monitor both players' time.
Wed Nov 5 201423:39Pekovic scored 16 points (5-12 FG, 6-7 FT) with 11 rebounds and ...
Pekovic scored 16 points (5-12 FG, 6-7 FT) with 11 rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Nets.
The big center racked up his second double-double of the season, and as long as he stays healthy there should be plenty more to come for Pekovic.
