Fri Dec 27 201315:17Ray Allen is a game-time call vs. Kings
Ray Allen (knee) is a game-time decision for Friday's game against the Kings.
Coach Erik Spoelstra might be taking a page out of Gregg Popovich's book tonight by resting his players. Allen doesn't appear to be dealing with anything outside of just soreness and he will likely be ready for Saturday. If he and Dwyane Wade sit, Roger Mason Jr. might be the favorite to start.

Tue Dec 24 201301:46Ray Allen scores 19 in start vs. ATL
Ray Allen scored 19 points in a start against the Hawks on Monday with six boards, one assist and one 3-pointer during a 121-119 victory.
His 19 points matched a season high and 34 minutes tonight set a season high. Dwyane Wade sat out due to soreness and is expected to be back for Christmas. Allen has been productive in his two previous starts as well, averaging 13.5 points, 2.o assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 triples on 57.1 percent shooting. He should have some shred of value in standard leagues on the whole this season.

Mon Dec 23 201309:02Ray Allen (knee) skips practice as precaution
Ray Allen (knee) was held out of Sunday's practice as a precaution.
This may become routine for Allen, who is battling tendinitis in his knee, and we won't mention him on the injury report unless there's some indication that his status is in jeopardy. The veteran has only missed three games this season, all in mid-November.

Sat Dec 21 201315:22Ray Allen playing through knee tendinitis
Ray Allen admitted that he's been battling tendinitis in his right knee for over a week, though he has yet to miss any games.
"It kind of persisted, and as [Friday's] game went on, maybe those first two minutes, it got a little worse and then I just played with it," Allen said. He may limit himself during Miami's practices and off-days but it doesn't sound as though the ailment will cost him any games.

Sun Dec 8 201320:56Ray Allen scores 18 points in start at SG
Filling in at SG for Dwyane Wade (knees) on Sunday, Ray Allen scored 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting with a couple of 3-pointers to help Miami earn a 110-95 victory in Detroit.
Allen has only missed three games this season and continues to seamlessly fill the gaps in Miami's rotation, averaging 10.0 points with 1.5 three-pointers, 2.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals per game. That's good enough for borderline value in 12-team roto leagues.

Fri Dec 6 201300:40Ray Allen only gets nine points in start
Ray Allen made his first start for the Heat on Thursday with nine points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer.
The Heat were starting James Jones with Dwyane Wade out before tonight, but they decided just not to play him at all since he's a liability in several facets of the game. Allen's numbers are down for the most part and he's a low-upside, 3-point specialist in fantasy leagues.

Thu Dec 5 201321:14Ray Allen making his first start with Heat
Ray Allen will make his first start with the Miami Heat on Thursday.
He gets the nod over James Jones and figures to get a lot of 3-pointers in the corner on kick-out passes by LeBron James. Allen had 12 points on Tuesday night and may be able to eclipse that total at Chicago tonight.

Tue Nov 19 201323:08Ray Allen plays well in return from flu
Ray Allen returned from an absence with the flu and hit 5-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds and a steal on Tuesday.
Allen is back, but saw some extra run with Dwyane Wade sidelined for rest. He should be a solid source of 3-pointers all year, but that's about all you can count on.

Tue Nov 19 201312:48Ray Allen (flu) expected to play Tuesday
Ray Allen (flu) went through Tuesday's shootaround and is expected to play agains the Hawks.
After averaging over three 3-pointers a game in his first two contests of the season, Allen has only averaged 0.8 3-pointers per game in the month of November. Hopefully a little time off will help Shuttlesworth's shooting prowess as that's about the only value he brings to the fantasy table at this point.

Mon Nov 18 201312:56Ray Allen, Haslem back at practice Monday
Ray Allen (flu) returned to practice on Monday after missing the past three games.
Udonis Haslem (back) also returned, as expected, and both veterans appear to be on pace for Tuesday's game vs. the Hawks.

Sat Nov 16 201315:53Ray Allen (flu) out again on Saturday
Ray Allen (flu) did not travel with the Heat for Saturday's game in Charlotte.
Allen may have been too ill to play, or maybe the team just didn't want his illness to spread in the locker room. With Mario Chalmers already suspended for this game, there should be plenty of available minutes for lower-end guys like Norris Cole and Roger Mason Jr.

Fri Nov 15 201317:57Ray Allen and Udonis Haslem out vs. Dallas
Ray Allen (illness) will not play against the Mavericks on Friday and he will not travel for Saturday's game against the Bobcats.
He participated in shootaround, but the team is going to keep him out of the lineup. Allen came into the season in great shape with his paleo diet and should be ready for Tuesday's game against the Hawks. Shane Battier and Michael Beasley will help fill the void.

Fri Nov 15 201311:35Ray Allen likely, Udonis Haslem GTD for Heat
Ray Allen, who missed Tuesday's game with an illness, participated in shootaround on Friday and sounds probable to play for the Heat tonight.
Udonis Haslem also went through shootaround, but is more of a game-time decision as he continues to deal with a sore back. Neither player is worth using in most fantasy leagues, even when they're at full strength.

Thu Nov 14 201312:47Ray Allen (flu) misses Thursday practice
Ray Allen missed Thursday's practice as he recovers from flu-like symptoms.
Allen did not play Tuesday against Milwaukee, but is fortunate that Miami doesn't play again until Friday. While it isn't great news that he missed Thursday's practice, but that doesn't necessarily rule him out for Friday's game against Dallas. If Allen is again unable to suit up, Roger Mason Jr. would again likely see some minutes in Shuttleworth's absence.

Tue Nov 12 201318:04Ray Allen ruled out Tuesday with flu
Ray Allen (flu) will not play vs. the Bucks on Tuesday.
He sat out Monday's practice and hasn't recovered enough to suit up, which should allow Roger Mason Jr. to crack the rotation. Allen is day-to-day and will have a few days to rest before Miami returns to action on Friday.

Wed Oct 30 201300:19Ray Allen hands out seven assists
Ray Allen handed out seven assists during Miami's easy 107-95 victory over the Bulls, scoring 11 points with one board, one block and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
Last year, his season high in assists was only six, so the eight-dime line was unexpected. Allen won't be very helpful outside of 3-pointers, but it's still enough to keep him in lineups in most fantasy leagues.

Thu Oct 17 201318:46Ray Allen sitting out vs. the Nets Thursday
Ray Allen will not play against the Nets on Thursday.
It'll be his second game off in a row, but there's no reason to think there's anything wrong with the 38-year-old sharpshooter. Allen came into camp in great shape and his style of play suggests he can play for a few more years. He's only a 3-point specialist in fantasy leagues, though.

Thu Oct 3 201312:46Ray Allen down to 197 pounds at camp
Ray Allen said he's down to 197 pounds in Miami's training camp.
He started a paleo diet this offseason and the word on the street is that he looks to be in excellent shape. Allen enters his 18th NBA season and it would appears he wants to stick around for a little longer. He's more of a 3-point specialist in fantasy leagues.

Fri Jun 28 201317:38Ray Allen decides to return to Heat for $3.2M
Ray Allen has decided to pick up his $3.229 million player option with the Heat for the 2013-14 season.
It's a mild surprise. Allen might have been able to squeeze out a two-year deal worth a little more money from the Heat if he had opted out and become an unrestricted free agent Monday. But in the end, Allen "settling" for the $3.2 million and free agency in 2014 will help the Heat's salary cap situation. He'll return as a court-stretcher off the bench, likely for something around the 25.8 minutes a night he got this past season.

Fri Jun 28 201314:38Report: Ray Allen expected back with the Heat
A source tells FOX Sports that Ray Allen is expected back with the Heat next season.
There's a "good chance" Allen opts out of his $3.229 million player option for the 2013-14 season, but doesn't mean his time in Miami is over. He could re-sign with the Heat for a max payday of $3.708 million next season and get anything up to a four-year deal. Of course, Allen will be 38 next month and the Heat will want to keep his contract as short as possible. Regardless, both sides want to get a deal done eventually and are expected to.
