Fri May 30 201423:36Andersen nears double-double with bad thigh
Chris Andersen (thigh) nearly double-doubled in Friday's Game 6 win over the Pacers, scoring nine points on 4-of-4 shooting with 10 rebounds in just 13 minutes.
Andersen did very well against the Spurs in last year's Finals, and regardless of whether or not the Heat get San Antonio or Oklahoma City he'll be a key figure off the bench.

Fri May 30 201419:57Birdman (thigh) caws his way into Game 6
Chris Anderson (thigh) will be active for Friday's Game 6 against the Pacers.
Michael Beasley and Justin Hamilton will be inactive. Assuming he plays the addition of Anderson to the active lineup will help clean up some of the wide open chances that Roy Hibbert had in his decent Game 5 performance.

Fri May 30 201411:30Chris Andersen (thigh) misses shootaround
Chris Andersen (thigh) missed shootaround Friday morning and remains a game-time decision for Game 6.
He missed the last two games and remains day-to-day. Andersen will likely receive treatment heading into Game 6 and the team is unlikely to update his status until about 30 minutes before the 8:30 EDT tip. If he sits, the Heat will likely stick with Rashard Lewis in the starting lineup to allow Udonis Haslem to help more in the second unit.

Thu May 29 201418:16Birdman (thigh) game-time decision for Game 6
Chris Andersen (thigh) will be a game-time decision for Friday's Game 6 in Miami.
Birdman has missed the past two games due to a thigh bruise, and it appears his status is still unclear for Game 6. He dubbed himself a game-time decision, also saying "I have a high tolerance for pain." The Heat look to close out their series with the Pacers and would love to have the services of Andersen after being out-rebounded in both Games 4 and 5.

Wed May 28 201419:50Chris Andersen inactive, Ray Allen good to go
Chris Andersen (thigh) will not play against the Pacers in Game 5 on Wednesday.
He's inactive and the Heat will have to count on Udonis Haslem and Chris Bosh a little more tonight. Rashard Lewis figures to get more run in the starting lineup, but his minutes may be limited since he can't guard David West. Andersen's issue is day-to-day, so there's little doubt he'd be ready for the NBA Finals on June 5.

Wed May 28 201419:25Chris Andersen (thigh) is still game-time
Chris Andersen (thigh) remains a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 5.
He is receiving treatment for his bruised thigh and we may not get his availability until right before tip. Miami has been successful with smaller lineups lately, so the loss of Andersen wouldn't be too devastating despite how Indiana owned the paint way back in Game 1.

Wed May 28 201412:03Chris Andersen (thigh) iffy to play in Game 5
Chris Andersen (thigh) didn't participate in Wednesday's shootaround and he's listed as a game-time decision.
Andersen said that on a scale of 1 to 10 he feels like an "11," but he followed that up by saying, "Right now I'm just playing it minute by minute." That does nothing to clarify the Birdman's availability, and if he sits out again the Heat will turn to guys like Rashard Lewis, Udonis Haslem and Shane Battier for extra production.

Tue May 27 201414:14Chris Andersen (thigh) iffy to play Wednesday
Chris Andersen (thigh bruise) is questionable to play on Wednesday and it's uncertain whether he'll travel with the Heat to Indianapolis.
The Birdman has been playing through minor injuries all season, but the quad bruise he suffered in Game 3 forced him to miss his first game of the postseason on Monday. Rashard Lewis played 26 minutes and Udonis Haslem logged 18 minutes off the bench in his absence, while Shane Battier added five points in nine minutes as part of Miami's small-ball attack.

Mon May 26 201419:48Chris Andersen (thigh contusion) out Monday
Chris Andersen will not play in Game 4 on Monday due to a thigh contusion.
He suffered the injury in Game 3 and this is a tough one for the Heat. Andersen has outplayed Roy Hibbert throughout this series and the Heat may have a tougher time protecting the paint. Udonis Haslem and Chris Bosh will have to step it up. Birdman should be considered questionable for Game 5.

Sun May 25 201415:37Chris Andersen playing through minor ailments
Chris Andersen collided with Dwyane Wade and was limping during parts of Saturday's Game 3 victory, and coach Erik Spoelstra called him "the human bruise" on Sunday.
The Birdman has been battling minor injuries for at least three months, according to Spoelstra, but he's appeared in every postseason game with averages of 5.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 18 minutes per game. In spite of his minor maladies, there's no indication that he's in danger of missing Monday's Game 4. On a side note, Andersen recently decided that he wants to change his nickname from the 'Birdman' to 'Birdzilla'.

Sun May 18 201418:09Chris Andersen turns in a nice game vs. Indy
Chris Andersen played 19 minutes off the bench vs. the Pacers on Sunday, making 6-of-7 from the field for 14 points with four boards, one steal and two blocks.
He was terrific on both ends of the floor and was able to help protect the paint for Miami, which was a major issue for them today. Andersen played 21.0 minutes per game in his four outings vs. the Pacers this season and there's a good chance he'll be over 20 in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Thu May 8 201422:32Chris Andersen logs 10 minutes off bench
Chris Andersen (knee) played 10 minutes off the bench in Thursday's win over the Nets, scoring two points with three boards and one steal.
He was coming off a knee injury in Game 1 and vowed to play tonight. The Nets are not really breaking down Miami's defense much, so the Birdman isn't a necessary piece in this series. He'll likely be looking at minutes in the low double digits on Saturday and Monday.

Thu May 8 201416:47Chris Andersen likely to play in Game 2
Chris Andersen is likely to play in Game 2 on Thursday after suffering a right knee contusion in Game 1.
Birdman missed most of the fourth quarter in Game 1 with the knee contusion, but he was not needed as the Heat blew out the Nets. Coach Erik Spoelstra was not ready to commit to Andersen definitely playing after the team's practice. "He went through the shootaround. We'll see how he feels tonight," he said. Despite Spoelstra's hesitance, all signs point to Andersen playing.

Wed May 7 201413:57Chris Andersen (knee) practices Wednesday
Chris Andersen went through Miami's light practice on Wednesday but he'll continue to receive treatment on his bruised right knee.
There doesn't seem to be a great deal of concern about the injury and X-rays came back negative, but we'll consider him questionable until the Heat update his availability for Game 2 on Thursday. For his part the Birdman was adamant that he'll play, saying, "They're going to need a body bag to keep me from playing."

Tue May 6 201421:31Chris Andersen injures knee in Game 1 win
Chris Andersen had seven points, four rebounds and four blocks in Tuesday's Game 1 win, but had to leave early after suffering a right knee contusion.
X-rays were negative and there was no reason for him to return with the Heat up 20 for most of the fourth quarter. Birdman should be considered day-to-day and questionable for Thursday's Game 2 against the Nets.

Sat Apr 26 201421:50Chris Andersen scores 12 on Saturday
Chris Andersen had 12 points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block off the bench on Saturday.
He got some extra run with Udonis Haslem in early foul trouble, and is averaging 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the three games in this series, and makes for a low-end daily option if you're looking for a cheap, warm body.

Wed Apr 16 201418:26Chris Andersen to rest on Wednesday
Chris Andersen will not play on Wednesday.
No surprise here, but Birdman should be ready to roll once the playoffs start.

Sat Apr 12 201400:35Andersen (knee) plays on Friday vs. IND
Chris Andersen (knee) played in Friday's game against the Pacers, scoring five points with six rebounds and one block in 16 minutes.
Andersen will be a rest-risk to finish the year but if he's slated to play he'll be worth a look if you need some big man stats.

Fri Apr 11 201419:20Chris Andersen will play vs. the Pacers
Chris Andersen will play vs. the Wolves on Friday night.
He was a game-time call for a lingering knee issue and the Heat will likely need him tonight. They were beat up on Wednesday during a loss to the Grizzlies, so expect the Birdman to get a nice amount of playing time. That said, Andersen is not a fantasy option.

Fri Apr 11 201411:19Chris Andersen is a game-time call
Chris Andersen (knee) is a game-time decision for Friday's matchup with the Pacers.
The Heat could really use Andersen as they try to get a win against the big bodies of the Pacers and move into the No. 1 spot in the East. They're already without Greg Oden (knee).
