Wed Nov 26 201412:05Nene Hilario: (Foot) Out Wednesday
Hilario (foot) won't play Wednesday, the News Herald's Bob Finnan reports.
Nene is dealing with plantar fasciitis, so he could be out for a week or more. Kris Humprhies will get the start at power forward against the Cavs, and while he started Tuesday, he had seven points and 10 rebounds in just 22 minutes. The Wizards will probably continue to spread around Nene's minutes, with Drew Gooden and Otto Porter also seeing time at the four.
Tue Nov 25 201417:46Hilario (foot) ruled out for Tuesday's game against Hawks
Hilario (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Hawks.
As expected, Nene will take a seat Tuesday as he battles plantar fasciitis. The team has not announced who will get the start in his place, but Kris Humphries, Kevin Seraphin and Drew Gooden are the top candidates. Regardless, all three could see increased minutes.
Tue Nov 25 201410:03Hilario (foot) will likely miss Tuesday's game against Atlanta
Hilario (foot) will likely miss Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Hawks Play-by-Play announcer Bob Rathburn reports.
In Nene's ongoing absence, Kris Humphries or Drew Gooden will likely start at power forward for Washington. Given his history with plantar fascia injuries, it's not surprising that this ailment is causing Nene to miss game action.

Nene has a right foot injury and will not return to Saturday's game against the Bucks.
Nene has an extensive history of plantar fascia issues, and that's how the Wizards are officially categorizing this injury. Plantar fasciitis is especially tricky because it can flare up at any time to differing degrees of severity, so it's possible that this issue forces Nene to miss some time. The Wizards' next game comes Tuesday against the Hawks.

Hilario (shoulder) had 16 points (8-14 FG, 0-1 FT) with three boards and two blocks in 27 minutes in the win over Orlando on Saturday.
Nene hurt his shoulder on Wednesday against Detroit, but did not miss practice and played his usual complement of minutes. He has only collected 23 rebounds in his last five games.

Hilario (shoulder) has participated fully in the Wizards' last two practices and should play Saturday against the Magic, the Washington Post reports.
Hilario suffered the injury on Wednesday against the Pistons, but he shouldn't have to miss any extra time as a result and is expected to play Saturday. He should be in the starting lineup Saturday, but if the shoulder starts to act up or cause any pain, he may receive a limited amount of minutes.
Thu Nov 13 201400:26Nene injured right shoulder in Wednesday's game against Pistons
Nene injured his right shoulder in Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.
The injury does not seem overly severe, but an update on Nene's status should come after he is evaluated by the Wizards' medical staff on Thursday.

Hilario had 17 points (8-16 FG, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, and five assists in 31 minutes in the win over the Pacers on Saturday.
Nene bounced back from a rough game in the loss to the Raptors on Friday (seven points on 2-of-11 shooting). With Marcin Gortat in early foul trouble, Nene had to step up and he did. He hit double digits in points for the first time in four games.

Nene had 22 points (10-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT) with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 33 minutes in the win over the Bucks on Saturday.
After being suspended in the opener, Nene has had 34 points, 10 boards, nine assists, and six steals in his last two games. The oft-injured forward may be good sell-high trade bait if he stays on the court for a few more games.

Hilario returned from his one-game suspension Thursday against the Magic, scoring 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 FT) for the Wizards.
Nene played 34 minutes Thursday, which will likely be one of his busier games this season. Drew Gooden played 20 minutes off the bench, but Kris Humphries played just three and DeJuan Blair never got into the game. That won't be the case all season. In addition to his solid shooting performance, Nene had five assists, four rebounds and three steals in the win.

Nene will miss the season opener due to a suspension for leaving the bench area during an altercation in the preseason.
This is old news, but it's a good reminder for owners. Kris Humphries and Drew Gooden will likely split time at power forward for Wednesday's game against the Heat with Nene and DeJuan Blair suspended.

Nene has been suspended for one regular season game for leaving the bench area during an altercation in Monday's preseason game versus the Bulls, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Nene was rested by coach Randy Wittman for Monday's game, but will still be disciplined for his action during a run-in between teammate Paul Pierce and Bulls' center Joakim Noah. As a result, Nene will miss Washington's season opener against the Heat, which should allow Kris Humphries to start at power forward in his Wizards' debut.
Mon Oct 6 201423:00Nene sat out Monday's preseason opener for Wizards due to coach'...
Nene sat out Monday's preseason opener for the Wizards due to a coach's decision, play-by-play man Glenn Consor reports.
Nene is healthy and fine. The Wizards are simply playing it safe with their habitually injured big man. Kris Humphries was given the start at power forward in Nene's absence. Unless a report comes out that specifies that Nene has an injury, prospective fantasy owners shouldn't worry too much at this point. With it being early in the preseason, the Wizards likely just want to avoid putting any extra wear on his tires, and Nene's absence gives them a chance to get a better look at their offseason acquisitions.
Tue May 20 201414:58Nene to play for Brazil in FIBA World Cup
Nene has committed to playing for the Brazilian national team this summer in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Nene received national criticism for sitting out the FIBA Americas Tournament, despite the fact he was nursing a sore left foot. His injury history is well documented, only playing a full 82-game season once and missing 29 games this year with an Achilles and knee injury. Still, Nene feels a deep sense of responsibility in representing his country. "I have responsibility," he said. "I have a lot of children who look for me, so I need to do the right thing."

Wed May 14 201410:43Nene slumping in second round vs. Pacers
Nene has been slumping in the Wizards' second-round series vs. Indiana, averaging 10.2 points on 35.9 percent shooting, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 30 minutes per game.
His lackluster play is a stark contrast with the first round, when he torched Joakim Noah and the Bulls, and coach Randy Wittman has trimmed Nene's minutes to the mid-20s over the past two games. His 5-of-14 shooting at the charity stripe hasn't helped his cause and Washington can only hope that he finds a groove during another potential elimination game on Thursday.

Wed May 7 201421:32Nene's ankle looks fine in Game 2 loss
Nene suffered a sprained ankle in the first quarter of Wednesday's loss and returned in the second quarter, finishing with 14 points, five boards, two assists and one block in 36 minutes.
He didn't look to roll his ankle too badly and he just needed to be re-taped. Nene isn't the most durable player in the league and perhaps his ankle swells up on him, but he should be ready for Game 3 on Friday night.

Wed May 7 201419:19Nene goes to the locker room on Wednesday
Nene went to the locker room in the first quarter of Wednesday's game vs. the Pacers due to an apparent left ankle sprain.
He suffered a left MCL sprain in March, so this is to the same leg. Nene stepped on George Hill's foot and it caused his ankle to turn. There should be an update coming from the team soon. Drew Gooden will look to step it up and build off his impressive double-double in Game 1.

Tue Apr 29 201422:53Nene returns from suspension with 20 points
Nene returned from his suspension on Tuesday, scoring 20 points on 10-of-17 shooting with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 39 minutes.
The Wizards' veteran PF was rested and he once again tormented Joakim Noah with his mid-range jumpers, passing and ability to bully his way into rebounding position. The Wizards' speedy five-game series win gives Nene plenty of time to rest before taking on the winner of the Pacers vs. Hawks series in the second round.

Tue Apr 29 201415:31Nene (suspension) will return for Game 5
Nene will return from his one-game suspension for Tuesday's Game 5.
Nene said that he was "in ecstacy" while watching the Wizards' spirited Game 4 effort, which resulted in a victory that gave Washington a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Bulls have struggled to control Nene in the series and he's looked fine while playing heavy minutes, so he could be in for another big night on Tuesday.

Sat Apr 26 201416:04Nene officially suspended for Sunday's Game 4
Nene has officially been suspended for Sunday's Game 4 for grabbing Jimmy Butler's neck, head-butting him and attempting to throw him down.
It's debatable whether Nene actually head-butted Butler, but he definitely went overboard with his actions and appeared to take a swing once the two were separated, so the suspension comes as no surprise. It's a crushing blow for the Wizards, but on the plus side Marcin Gortat seems to have avoided punishment for leaving the bench during the brief fight. Gortat and Trevor Booker will both see their roles increase in Game 4, while guys like Drew Gooden and Kevin Seraphin may also be called upon in Nene's absence.
