Tue Nov 19 201323:03Mike Scott double-doubles off Hawks bench
Mike Scott came off the bench for 15 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer on 6-of-10 shooting in 28 minutes in Friday's loss to the Heat.
Paul Millsap was out with an elbow injury and starter Gustavo Ayon was ineffective, leaving Scott free to have a big game. If Millsap is out again on Wednesday against the Pistons, Scott could be a sneaky play.

Sun Nov 10 201300:11Mike Scott scores 17 in 14 minutes
Mike Scott came off the bench Saturday to hit 7-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for a season-high 17 points and two rebounds in just 14 minutes of action.
We like Scott's game, but his minutes are suspect and despite hitting for 17 and 13 points in two of his last five games, he scored a total of six in the other three. Ignore him for now, but look for him to emerge if the Hawks suffer an injury to someone in their front court at some point.

Mon Nov 4 201300:36Mike Scott plays season-high 22 minutes
Mike Scott played a season-high 22 minutes against the Lakers on Sunday with a line of 13 points, five boards, one assist and one steal.
He had a very good preseason and averaged 12 points in the seven games. Elton Brand played just four minutes and Scott looks to have the inside track as the first big off the bench. He's still not worth owning in most leagues, though.

Thu Oct 24 201301:06Mike Scott plays well again for Hawks
Mike Scott hit 8-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer for 19 points and three rebounds in Wednesday's preseason game.
The Hawks rested all the main guys tonight, and while Scott has looked good in the preseason, he's not going to be much of an asset playing behind Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver.

Tue Oct 22 201322:08Mike Scott gets hot in loss to Pacers
Mike Scott got hot off the Hawks bench on Tuesday and hit 7-of-8 shots (and a 3-pointer) for 17 points and two rebounds in 23 minutes.
Scott has had a few nice games this preseason and is worth keeping an eye on, but with Paul Millsap and Al Horford set to play mega minutes up front this season, Scott's a long shot to offer much value.

Tue Oct 8 201322:46Mike Scott scores 19 off the bench Tuesday
Mike Scott played 28 minutes off the bench on Tuesday, scoring a team-high 19 points with six boards and two 3-pointers against the Bobcats.
Gustavo Ayon is going to miss up to two months with a rotator-cuff injury, so there are some minutes up for grabs up front for the Hawks. Considering Elton Brand is 34 years old, Scott could see enough minutes to matter in deeper fantasy leagues.

Wed Oct 2 201313:44Mike Scott returns from minor ankle injury
Mike Scott returned from a minor ankle injury to practice on Wednesday.
Scott lost 15 pounds this summer and his teammates have raved about his focus and intensity for the past few weeks. Atlanta's frontcourt is too deep to consider Scott in fantasy leagues, however, as he'll likely fight with Gustavo Ayon and Elton Brand for backup minutes.

Tue Sep 24 201309:19Horford raves about Hawks PF Mike Scott
Al Horford said that Mike Scott is "by far ... in better shape" than any other Hawks who have recently been playing pickup games in Atlanta.
"He is the one who has made the most improvement that I have seen," Horford said. Unfortunately for Scott, the Hawks brought in big men Paul Millsap, Elton Brand, Pero Antic and Gustavo Ayon this summer. "It's about building a bond and a trust with these new bigs," Horford said. "We are going to have to do it by committee. There is no way around it." Horford and Millsap are the only guaranteed fantasy options here, and the word "committee" will haunt EB, Scott, Antic and Ayon all season.

Thu Apr 18 201300:17Mike Scott has another big game for Hawks
Mike Scott had 23 points and 14 rebounds on 10-of-22 shooting in a start for the Hawks on Wednesday.
The Hawks looked like they were tanking over the final couple games, choosing to play the struggling Pacers instead of dealing with the Nets. Game 1 is Sunday at Indiana, and Scott will likely return to the bench as Josh Smith, Al Horford, Jeff Teague, Devin Harris and Kyle Korver should all be back in action for the playoffs. Scott played very well down the stretch and the Hawks have to be pleased with what they saw.

Tue Apr 16 201323:14Mike Scott double-doubles vs. Toronto
Mike Scott double-doubled in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors with 12 points and 12 boards in 27 minutes.
Al Horford didn't play and Josh Smith suffered a knee injury and did not return. Scott had 17-point and 22-point games earlier this month, so this line wasn't completely unexpected. He's someone that could be worth a start contingent on Horford and Smith being out again.

Sat Apr 6 201323:17Mike Scott scores 22 points in 36 minutes
Hawks rookie forward Mike Scott blew up for 22 points in 36 minutes vs. the Spurs, hitting 8-of-15 FGs and 6-of-8 FTs, with six boards and two assists.
Josh Smith (knee) and Al Horford (hamstring) were both absent tonight, but they could return to action for Atlanta's next game on Wednesday. If you need another reason to avoid Scoot, consider that the last time he scored double-digit points he followed it up with four scoreless games.

Sun Mar 31 201309:13Mike Scott goes scoreless after big game
Hawks forward Mike Scott, who scored 19 points on Friday, finished Saturday's victory scoreless in 37 seconds of action.
The implications here are self-evident -- Scott can't be trusted as a fantasy option in any format.

Fri Mar 29 201322:43Scott scores 19 points off the bench
Mike Scott scored 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting (7-of-8 FTs) with three rebounds and no other stats in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.
We haven't blurbed a game-line of Scott's since January 14, so needless to say tonight's performance is a fluke. If he can follow it up, we'll let you know.

Mon Jan 28 201312:24Mike Scott to get more minutes at SF
Rookie Mike Scott will begin to see more minutes at small forward in order to boost his playing time.
"I don't want to throw too much at him too fast," Larry Drew said. "He is stil trying to learn the 4 spot." Scott acknowledged the need to work on his defense, but welcomed the challenge and is looking to assert himself as a consistent member of the rotation.

Mon Jan 14 201323:08Mike Scott scores a career-high 10 points
Mike Scott scored a career-high 10 points against the Bulls on Monday to go with three rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes.
This line was all about garbage time in one of the ugliest efforts by a team in recent memory. Even though he was the only player in double digits, Scott can be left on the wire in all leagues.

Wed Oct 31 201216:03Mike Scott returns after bout w/ flu

While it's nice to see Scott healthy and active, he's a non-factor in fantasy leagues.

Tue Oct 30 201213:36Mike Scott, Johan Petro both out on Tuesday
Mike Scott (flu) and Johan Petro (back) both missed practice on Tuesday.
Scott is just dealing with the flu and should be fine, while Petro's back has kept him sidelined over the last couple of days. Scott should be fine for the opener, but Petro's status is unclear.
