But Realmuto most certainly remains an elite catcher and should be the second catcher drafted in all formats, especially in roto where his stolen bases are extra valuable. There's also a good chance he reaps the benefits of the designated hitter spot in the NL this year, earning some additional starts and at-bats because of it.

The Phillies will face young hurler Josiah Gray on Monday and Gray has been throwing the ball well in his limited time at the big-league level. Marchan can remain on the waiver wire for now.

The move is being made for several reasons according to Zolecki, including using Realmuto as a part-time replacement for Rhys Hoskins now that he's done for the year. This move is also being considered to help reduce wear and tear on Realmuto, who reported that he has been dealing with shoulder soreness all season long.
