Thu Apr 21 202221:22Alex Kirilloff Set For Rehab Assignment Next Week
Minnesota Twins' first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff (wrist) will likely head off to a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul early next week. He had a cortisone injection to help with the inflammation in his wrist. The 24-year-old has been limited to five games this season, with only one hit in 17 at-bats before getting his wrist examined again. He will make a few rehab appearances next week and should return to the big leagues shortly after, barring any setbacks. Kirilloff hasn't been able to stay healthy during his major league career, but the former top prospect provides plenty of upside and should continue to be stashed in all league formats.

Fri Apr 15 202214:17Alex Kirilloff Receives Cortisone Shot
Minnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff (wrist) received a cortisone shot and tests revealed nothing new going on in his wrist. "It should be something that as time goes on, AK can find a way to play with and manage and do some maintenance on but be able to go at it with," manager Rocco Baldelli said. Kirilloff was put on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, and although this latest piece of news is good news, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he's out longer than 10 days. Gilberto Celestino filled in for Kirilloff in the outfield on Wednesday, but Trevor Larnach was brought up and started in left field and is hitting seventh against Boston Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta on Friday.

Wed Apr 13 202215:01Alex Kirilloff Placed On Injured List
The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Alex Kirilloff (wrist) on the 10-day injured list due to right wrist inflammation. The 24-year-old had registered a hit and a run scored in 18 plate appearances for Minnesota so far this season. Minnesota also designated right-hander Jharel Cotton for assignment while recalling outfielder Trevor Larnach and selecting the contract of right-handed pitcher Dereck Rodriguez. Larnach, Nick Gordon, and Gilberto Celestino are potential options to fill in for Kiriloff alongside Byron Buxton and Max Kepler in the outfield.

Mon Apr 4 202218:15Alex Kirilloff Expected To Return On Tuesday
Minnesota Twins first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff (knee) is expected to return to action in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game, according to Twins manager Rocco Baldelli. The 24-year-old was removed from this past Saturday's game due to mild left knee soreness. The removal was said to be precautionary. All signs point toward Kirilloff being on the field for Opening Day. In his first taste of the majors last year, the left-hander slashed .251/.299/.423 with eight home runs, 34 RBI and 23 runs over 59 games. He's currently ranked No. 165 overall in the RotoBaller rankings. One of the Twins' top overall prospects going into last year, Kirilloff a solid sleeper target if you're in need of outfield or corner infield depth in the double-digit rounds.

Sat Apr 2 202217:23Alex Kirilloff Injured Saturday
Minnesota Twins first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff (knee) is dealing with mild left knee soreness and was removed from the Grapefruit League game against the Kansas City Royals early as a precaution on Saturday. Kirilloff doesn't have any structural damage in his knee, but he'll be re-evaluated on Sunday and still has a shot to be ready on Opening Day next week. But if the 24-year-old has to begin the year on the injured list, it could give opportunities to Brent Rooker, Luis Arraez, Jake Cave and Kyle Garlick in the Twins outfield to open the season. The former top prospect had wrist surgery in July and was limited to only 59 games in 2021. Kirilloff has solid raw power and could be a nice value pick in fantasy drafts after hitting .251/.299/.423 with eight home runs and 34 RBI in 231 plate appearances last year.

Fri Mar 11 202221:39Twins Don't Plan To Limit Alex Kirilloff
The Minnesota Twins don't plan on limiting outfielder Alex Kirilloff (wrist) this spring after manager Rocco Baldelli said his wrist looks to be in a good spot. Kirilloff looked good swinging a bat on Friday. "If there was any concern at this point for him taking swings on the medical side, he wouldn't have been out there. There isn't," Baldelli said. The 24-year-old outfielder had wrist surgery last July, and he'll certainly be one to watch in spring training games. The former top prospect has plenty of upside if he's healthy after hitting eight home runs and driving in 34 in 59 games in his first big-league action in 2021. Kirilloff has impressive raw power and should have 20-homer potential over a full MLB season, although RBI opportunities may be limited with the Twins.
