Thu Nov 10 202213:41Mariners Showing Interest In Brandon Nimmo
The Seattle Mariners have expressed formal interest in free-agent outfielder Brandon Nimmo, according to sources. The Mariners are looking for a left-handed bat and improved on-base percentage, and Nimmo would bring both of those things to Seattle. Nimmo is a native of Wyoming and has posted a strong .385 on-base percentage in his seven MLB seasons with the New York Mets. In a career-high 151 games in 2022, he hit .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, a league-leading seven triples, 64 RBI, 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 673 plate appearances. Nimmo was already a very attractive fantasy commodity for his OBP, contact skills and runs while in New York, but he'd be just as attractive with a move to the up-and-coming M's.

Wed Oct 5 202211:58Brandon Nimmo Has Big Day During Doubleheader
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo had a big day at the plate on Tuesday in the doubleheader sweep of the Washington Nationals. Nimmo finished 6-for-8 with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Heading into the final game of the regular season on Wednesday, the 29-year-old is hitting .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, 64 RBI, 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 580 at-bats across a career-high 151 games in 2022. The Mets are hoping that Nimmo can continue to swing a hot bat heading into this weekend's wild-card series against the San Diego Padres, especially with Starling Marte (finger) looking unlikely to make his return.

Sat Sep 24 202213:57Brandon Nimmo Not In The Lineup On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quad) is not in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Oakland Athletics. Nimmo appears to just be getting the day off even though he did tweak his left quad on Wednesday against the Brewers. He has appeared in games since then so Saturday just looks to be a day of maintenance for the on-base machine. There's a strong chance that he returns to the Mets' lineup on Sunday. In the meantime, former Athletic Mark Canha will be starting in center field in Nimmo's absence.

Fri Sep 23 202221:28Brandon Nimmo Returns For Mets Friday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quadriceps) is back in center field and batting leadoff on Friday against the Oakland Athletics and left-hander Cole Irvin. Nimmo won't end up missing much time after he left the game early on Wednesday with left quadriceps tightness, and he's back in the starting lineup after Thursday's off day. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter should be returned to starting lineups in single-year formats on Friday. Against lefty pitchers, Nimmo has been solid, hitting .262 (49-for-187) with five of his 14 home runs against them. In the month of September, he's gone 18-for-72 (.250) with two home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases in 20 games played.

Wed Sep 21 202222:40Brandon Nimmo To Undergo MRI On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quad) will undergo an MRI on Thursday. The left-handed outfielder was pulled from Wednesday's game due to a quad issue. The team took Nimmo out of the game in the first inning as a precaution. The Mets are downplaying the severity of the injury, but want to get an MRI done as a precaution. Fantasy managers should get more information after the results come back after Thursday's exam.

Wed Sep 21 202218:05Brandon Nimmo Hoping He Won't Miss Much Time
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quadriceps) said he thinks he caught his quadriceps injury on Wednesday early enough to avoid a major issue. Nimmo is hopeful that he won't need to miss much time, if any. The 29-year-old singled and a stole a base in the first inning on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers before being pulled with left quadriceps tightness. With a scheduled off day on Thursday, he could return on Friday for the start of a series against the Oakland Athletics. Nimmo has been strong for the Mets and his fantasy managers in 2022, hitting .263/.359/.417 with 14 round-trippers, 56 RBI, 93 runs scored and two stolen bases in his 544 at-bats.

Wed Sep 21 202216:10Brandon Nimmo Injures Quad Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quadriceps) left the game early on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers with left quadriceps tightness. Nimmo went 1-for-1 and stole a base in the first inning before leaving the game, so perhaps he injured his leg on his stolen base. Until we know more on the severity of his injury, consider him day-to-day. The 29-year-old entered the day with a .263/.359/.417 slash line, 14 home runs, a league-leading seven triples, 56 RBI, 93 runs scored and two stolen bases in 633 plate appearances and 141 games. The Mets surely don't want to lose their regular leadoff hitter and center fielder as they attempt to win the National League East division in the final two weeks of the regular season.

Tue Aug 9 202214:46Brandon Nimmo On The Bench Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Cincinnati Reds and left-handed pitcher Mike Minor. The 29-year-old is hitting .271 with a .355 on-base percentage and 10 home runs in 456 plate appearances this season. Instead, the Mets will go with Jeff McNeil, Mark Canha, and Starling Marte from left to right in the outfield against Minor, who owns a 6.19 ERA and a 6.57 FIP in 56.2 innings of work this season. McNeil will bat sixth while Canha and Marte will hit first and second respectively against the left-handed starter.

Thu Aug 4 202214:43Brandon Nimmo Reaches Four Times Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo reached base four times Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in a 9-5 victory over the Washington Nationals. After a down July, Nimmo has hit safely in six of his last seven games, with seven hits in his last 12 at-bats. Nimmo is one of the least flashy players in the league, but he also offers an incredibly high production floor. With a .781 OPS, 10 homers, 64 runs scored, and 39 RBI, he should have a place on fantasy rosters in all but the shallowest leagues.

Fri Jul 15 202201:20Brandon Nimmo Falls Triple Short Of Cycle
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo had three hits Thursday against the Chicago Cubs, falling a triple short of the cycle as he tallied a home run, a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored in an 8-0 victory. Nimmo has been quietly excellent out of the leadoff spot all season, slashing .275/.361/.447 with nine homers, 56 runs scored, and 33 RBI in 348 plate appearances. Four of his nine home runs have come in his last 15 games, and fantasy managers could reasonably expect that Nimmo may make a run at his career-high of 17 blasts set in 2018, though it seems his days as a base stealer are behind him with just two attempts this year, both of which were unsuccessful.

Tue May 31 202216:10Brandon Nimmo Sitting Again On Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (wrist) will be held out for the fourth straight game on Tuesday as the team takes on the Washington Nationals. Mark Canha will be covering center field and batting leadoff in the game. Nimmo is dealing with wrist soreness. He received a cortisone injection on Saturday, but his recovery following the injection hasn't been as quick as the team anticipated. The initial hope was that he'd return on Monday, but the team has continued to hold him out. Nimmo should be considered day-to-day at this point. Over 42 games this year, he has slashed .293/.386/.452 with three home runs, 17 RBI and 29 runs.

Mon May 30 202218:32Jeff McNeil Back, Brandon Nimmo Out Monday
New York Mets infielder Jeff McNeil (leg) is back in the starting lineup as the designated hitter and is batting fifth on Monday against Washington Nationals right-hander Erick Fedde. Meanwhile, outfielder Brandon Nimmo (wrist) will miss his third straight game. McNeil had some wear and tear with his legs and didn't play on Sunday, but he'll be back in there to begin a series with the Nats. The 30-year-old doesn't have a ton of power but is hitting .317 with a .372 on-base percentage and two stolen bases in 164 at-bats. Mark Canha is playing center field and batting seventh, while Nick Plummer gets the nod in left field while hitting eight against Fedde. Nimmo, who is hitting .293/.386/.452 with three homers and 17 RBI, should be considered day-to-day.

Manager Buck Showalter said that it's a "day-to-day" thing and that there is no structural damage. Nimmo will receive a cortisone injection Saturday and will miss the weekend, but intends to return on Monday. That is good news for fantasy managers, as Nimmo has been on a roll this season, slashing .293/.386/.452 as the Mets primary leadoff hitter.

Wed May 18 202209:19Brandon Nimmo Day-To-Day With Bruised Quad
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quad) has been diagnosed with a bruised right quad. According to Mets manager Buck Showalter, Nimmo is day-to-day. Nimmo suffered the injury in Game 2 of the team's doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday after he fouled a ball off of his leg. After the game, Nimmo underwent X-rays that came back negative. He stated that his availability for Wednesday's game will depend on how he feels in the morning. This is all good news for fantasy managers as it appears Nimmo may not even miss a game due to this injury. The 29-year-old is off to a great start to the year, slashing .292/.397/.458 with three home runs, 12 RBI and 20 runs over 33 games.

Jankowski, meanwhile, is hitting .318 with a .400 on-base percentage and a pair of stolen bases in 25 plate appearances. Tue Apr 19 202215:23Brandon Nimmo, Mark Canha Not In Game 1 Lineup
New York Mets outfielders Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha are not in the Game 1 lineup on Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants for the first game of a doubleheader. Both players have been on the COVID-19 list, but the Mets activated Nimmo on Tuesday. It's possible that he'll be back in the starting lineup for Game 2. The 29-year-old hasn't played since last Wednesday. Canha wasn't activated on Tuesday, but he could return as early as Wednesday after going on the COVID-19 list last Friday with Nimmo. Jeff McNeil will continue to play left field and lead off in Game 1 on Tuesday, while Travis Jankowski is back in center field and batting eighth against Giants right-hander Alex Cobb.

Fri Apr 15 202211:32Brandon Nimmo, Mark Canha Test Positive For COVID-19
New York Mets outfielders Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha are out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It appears both players have caught COVID-19 after being in close contact with a staff member who had it as well. Fantasy managers can expect to be without both Nimmo and Canha for a few days. Travis Jankowski is in center field and batting eighth versus righty Zach Davis. Jeff McNeil will bat leadoff and play left field in this one. New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (neck) is set to lead off and play center field in the team's second game of the season against the Washington Nationals on Friday. Nimmo was held out of action on Thursday as he was dealing with a stiff neck. Mark Canha started in center field on Thursday and J.D. Davis served as designated hitter. He'll be the team's primary leadoff hitter this year, though he may occasionally sit against lefties, who he has struggled against over his career.
