Burns stayed hot on Friday night, collecting three hits (all of the infield variety) and his 14th stolen base.

Burns continues to find a way to get hits and is now hitting .323 on the season to go with the 14 swipes. Burns has the leadoff spot locked down for now and continues to play an excellent center field.

Burns was 1-for-3 on Tuesday with a two-run triple and his 13th stolen base.

Burns also managed to make an incredible catch against the wall on a long Justin Upton drive. To top off his greay day, he drew a walk off Craig Kimbrel in the ninth inning, stole second and scored the game-winning run. Burns is now 13-for-15 in stolen base attempts to go along with his .308 average.

Burns was 2-for-5 on Sunday and stole his 12th base of the season.

Burns continues to be productive atop the A's lineup and is hitting .313 through 163 at-bats. As long as Burns can keep finding ways to get on base, he will help fantasy teams with a lot of stolen bases. With Coco Crisp recently placed on the 60-Day DL, the center field job is firmly Burns' for the foreseeable future.

Burns went 2-for-3 with a walk, his 11th steal, an RBI and a run Thursday in a win over Texas.

Burns has been an absolute dynamo at the top of the Oakland order, having gone hitless in just six of his 34 starts since coming up from Triple-A. He's got center field locked down for the A's, and there's no reason to think he won't start there for the rest of the year.

Burns went 1-for-4 with a bases-loaded triple Wednesday against Detroit.

The three-RBI hit in the second inning provided plenty of cushion for A's starter Sonny Gray, who silenced the Detroit bats. Burns has now hit safely in eight consecutive games, flashing both his high-end speed and some surprising pop. If he's unowned in any fantasy leagues of reasonable depth, it's past time to change that.

Burns was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and hit his second home run on Thursday night.

Burns homer barely cleared the wall and was also barely fair, but they all count the same. Burns hit two homers over 1511 at-bats in the Minor Leagues, but surprisingly now has two in his first 96 Major League at-bats. Obviously, Burns value remains in his legs, but he is hitting .302 and looks to be the A's leadoff hitter for the time being with Coco Crisp on the DL and not likely to be back any time soon.

Burns started in center field and atop the order for a fourth straight game, and it appears he'll continue to occupy those spots with Coco Crisp (neck) landing back on the 15-day DL. While Burns packs little-to-no power and has had some issues against left-handed pitching, he's been able to hit right-handers at a high clip to this point and should continue to be an asset on the basepaths.

If Crisp's injury lingers, that would open up some playing time in the A's outfield for Burns to get more at-bats, which would lead to nice stolen base upside for fantasy owners. Burns will take a seat for the second game in a row, which registers as somewhat of a surprise given that he had collected six hits in his previous four games to raise his average to .321 on the season. There's no news of any injury, so it appears manager Bob Melvin is just electing to give Burns another night off as Sam Fuld will once again draw the start in center field.

Coco Crisp's return from an elbow injury last week was expected to endanger Burns' chances of sticking with the Athletics, but it appears manager Bob Melvin will keep Burns around as the team's regular center fielder for the time being, while Crisp moves over to left. The 25-year-old has justified Melvin's faith to date, as he's gone 10-for-32 (.313 average) at the dish while stealing two bases in three attempts. While a lineup spot is seemingly secure at the moment for Burns, the leadoff appointment is likely just a one-time deal with Crisp being rested Sunday.

Most importantly, Burns remained on the team when Coco Crisp was activated on Wednesday as the A's chose to demote Craig Gentry instead. Burns should continue to see time in center field, possible sharing time with Sam Fuld, for he time being.

One would assume that his playing time will be limited with the impending return of Coco Crisp, but with the extreme struggles of the Sam Fuld - Craig Gentry platoon, it is possible that the center field job could be his for the taking. Burns window to prove himself is likely small, but he now has five hits in his first 14 at-bats. If Burns were to find a way to get significant playing time, he has huge stolen base upside in fantasy leagues.

Burns will start in center field and bat leadoff for the second straight game Sunday against the Rangers.

Burns went 2-for-5 in that same role Saturday, and will get another opportunity to make an impact Sunday afternoon. Although it's tough to determine a pattern from a two-game sample size, the 25-year-old switch-hitter will be a useful option in daily formats as long as he stays atop the order. With former leadoff man Sam Fuld slumping heavily, this may not be the last we see of Burns in the one-spot.

Burns was recalled from Triple-A and will hit leadoff Saturday, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.

The speedy switch-hitter will be a useful option in daily leagues given his placement in the lineup Saturday. It's not clear how long he will be up with the big league club as Sam Fuld and Craig Gentry are also capable of playing center field, but Burns has enough speed to be interesting whenever he's in the lineup.

Burns was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Cody Ross was signed for veteran depth in the outfield, so to make room the team had to demote the speedy Burns. He was certainly worth a dart for speed during the first week of FAAB, but the Ross move really messed that up. It sounds like we'll have to wait until later in the season for Burns to have another shot, as the A's have a pretty deep outfield once Coco Crisp is ready to return from injury.

Burns officially made the A's Opening Day roster, reports Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News.

The speedy Burns makes the roster as a result of injuries to Coco Crisp and Josh Reddick. Burns could be a great source of steals if he gets playing time while he is with the A's, but it is possible that he could be the player sent down when Reddick returns on April 11th.
