Sat Mar 26 201115:10Jose Molina to catch Jo-Jo Reyes
Blue Jays manager John Farrell said Jose Molina will likely be the personal catcher for Jo-Jo Reyes.
Molina had been slated to catch Brandon Morrow and Kyle Drabek, so with Morrow slated to begin the year on the DL, he'll still be starting two out of every five games. It obviously hurts the power upside of J.P. Arencibia since he'll only be starting 60 percent of the time.

Thu Mar 17 201113:55Molina could catch Morrow and Drabek
Blue Jays manager John Farrell suggested Wednesday that Jose Molina could be the personal catcher for both Brandon Morrow and Kyle Drabek.
"That's one arrangement," said Farrell. `We don't want to say that certain pitchers can't pitch with other catchers behind the plate but I think you're looking at two pitchers with similar stuff and to make sure that they don't go away from their secondary stuff and become so reliant on their fastball and just become hard, hard, hard. Sometimes a power pitcher's mentality can revert to that throwing mindset. That's where some of that (having Molina) can be beneficial." We figured rookie J.P. Arencibia wouldn't catch everyday, but keep this potential arrangement in mind if you were thinking about relying on him as a fantasy option.

Many expect the Jays to let catcher John Buck walk this offseason and make J.P Arencibia the club's new starting backstop. If that's the case, Molina will again serve as a backup in Toronto next year. He batted .246/.304/.377 with six homers and 12 RBI over 167 at-bats in 2010.

After homering Thursday, Jose Molina is making his first start of the year as a designated hitter on Friday.
This illustrates why the Blue Jays were never contenders in the AL East. Amazingly enough, it's actually the third career start at DH for Molina. At least the Jays are having him bat ninth.
