Fri Mar 11 202212:38Bryce Harper Stumping For Kris Bryant
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper, who won the National League MVP last year, is stumping for free-agent third baseman Kris Bryant, who is one of his good friends and neighbor in Las Vegas. The Phillies have plenty of needs and also options in free agency, and Bryant can fit at either the hot corner or in the outfield. The Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres and New York Mets could be fits for Bryant if he isn't swayed to Philadelphia by Harper. The 30-year-old four-time All-Star and 2016 MVP hit .262/.344/.444 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 212 plate appearances over 51 games in 2021 after being acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs. In total, Bryant hit .265/.353/.481 with 25 homers, 73 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 144 games.

Wed Dec 1 202122:57Kris Bryant's Market Is Percolating
The New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels and San Diego Padres are among many teams that are interested in signing star free-agent Kris Bryant. The Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros, among others, have also checked in. Bryant's biggest draw is his versatility, with his ability to play third base, first base and all three outfield positions. The Angels have mostly been focusing on pitching, but the thought of Bryant joining a lineup with Mike Trout and American League MVP Shohei Ohtani is very intriguing. The Astros could be looking to replace Carlos Correa in free agency. The Padres already have star third baseman Manny Machado, but Bryant could be used in their outfield. The 29-year-old Bryant made 47 starts at third base, 35 in left field, 33 in right field, 13 in center and 10 at first base in 2021.

Tue Nov 30 202114:29Rockies Reportedly Interested in Kris Bryant
Per a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Colorado Rockies are reportedly interested in free-agent third baseman Kris Bryant. Bryant hit .265 with a .353 on-base percentage, 25 home runs, and 10 stolen bases in 586 plate appearances last season for the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants. Colorado's third baseman finished with a collective 72 wRC+ last season, the third-worst number in the league, so they could certainly use the help at the position. Ryan McMahon received the bulk of the starts at third base last season for the Rockies, but he can also play second base and first base.

Sun Nov 28 202114:01Mariners Interested In Kris Bryant
The Seattle Mariners are among the teams interested in free-agent third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant, according to sources familiar with the situation. The expectation, as of right now, is that Bryant will not sign before the potential Dec. 1 work stoppage. The Mariners are eying players with defensive versatility like Bryant, Kyle Schwarber and Chris Taylor, and they just traded for second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier on Saturday. Bryant, who has already won the National League Rookie of the Year and an MVP, would represent a significant offensive upgrade to a Mariners team that just missed the postseason in 2021. The 29-year-old is also a five-time All-Star and has the 17th-highest on-base percentage (.376) since his rookie season in 2015. Bryant is coming off a five-game NLDS series against the Dodgers in which he hit .471/.500/.647 with a home run in 18 plate appearances.

LaMonte Wade Jr. and Darin Ruf will be the team's corner outfielders in the game. Bryant is coming off of a pair of multi-hit efforts against his former club, the Chicago Cubs. However, he's off to a bit of a slow start to September overall. He's slashed just .250/.348/.300 over 10 games this month and he has only two extra-base hits (both doubles) so far in September. He should be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game with his old Cubs teammate Jake Arrieta on the mound for the Padres.

Tue Aug 17 202119:52Kris Bryant Scratched From Lineup Tuesday Night
San Francisco Giants third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (hamstring) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to mild left hamstring tightness, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. Shea reports that Bryant felt the tightness during batting practice, and he is now being replaced in the lineup by Alex Dickerson, who will start in left field and bat eighth against the Mets. Bryant was dealing with hamstring tightness over the weekend, so this should cause some mild concern for managers right now. Consider him day-to-day at this point, but don't be surprised if he ends up landing on the injured list if he doesn't show signs of improvement.
