Wed Jun 26 201323:00Danks takes loss despite good start vs. Mets
John Danks took the loss on Wednesday, allowing three runs -- one earned -- over 7 1/3 innings against the Mets.
Danks deserved better, as he allowed seven hits and no walks while striking out seven. A fielding error by Alexei Ramirez allowed the first two runs to score, and an Eric Young Jr. infield single scored the third. Danks will carry a 1-5 record and 4.68 ERA into his Tuesday start against the Orioles.

Thu Jun 20 201316:58John Danks hammered in loss to Twins
John Danks was tagged for six runs over five innings Thursday in a loss to the Twins.
Ugly. Danks allowed 12 hits on the day, including four home runs. The southpaw has already served up 10 home runs in just 35 innings this season after giving up just 19 in 170 1/3 innings during his last full season in 2011. The loss dropped him to 1-4 with a 5.40 ERA over his first six starts. He has a good chance to get back on track next week against the Mets, but it's tough to trust him in mixed leagues right now.

Sat Jun 15 201322:00Danks allows four runs and White Sox lose
John Danks allowed four earned runs over six innings Saturday as the White Sox lost to the Astros.
It was an ugly outing against a bad Astros offense for Danks, who threw eight innings of one-run ball last week against the American League West-leading A's. The left-hander allowed five Houston hits -- two of which were homers -- and issued one walk. He'll carry a 6.00 ERA into his next scheduled start in Minnesota.

Sat Jun 8 201318:47Danks dominates for eight, White Sox top A's
John Danks fired eight innings of one-run ball Saturday as the White Sox beat the A's 4-1.
Danks dominated the Oakland lineup all afternoon, yielding only three hits and one walk while tallying six strikeouts. The 28-year-old left-hander now has a cool 4.13 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 24 innings since returning from the disabled list on May 24 and deserves consideration again in mixed fantasy leagues. Addison Reed closed out Saturday's victory with a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 18th save of the season.

Tue Jun 4 201301:05Danks solid in loss Monday
John Danks pitched decently in a loss Monday, allowing four runs - three earned - over six frames against the Mariners.
He struck out five while permitting seven hits and a walk. Danks pitched quite well other than in the third inning, when he was tagged with three hits and all three earned runs. The left-hander has now posted quality starts in two of three tries since his return from the DL, but he was far from dominant in both outings. Danks remains a low-level mixed league play and has a tough matchup against the A's this weekend.

Wed May 29 201317:41John Danks gives up two homers in loss
John Danks surrendered four runs -- three earned -- and two homers in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cubs.
The surprisingly solid first outing was a bigger surprise than this one; Danks just isn't throwing well enough at the moment to be a quality big-league starter. The White Sox will be patient and hope his stuff improves with time, but fantasy leaguers should view him as a spot starter at best.

Sat May 25 201300:11Danks solid in first start off disabled list
John Danks was solid in his first start back from shoulder surgery Friday, giving up three runs in six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.
He reached the 90s a couple of times with his fastball, but mostly sat in the high 80s. Danks was pulled after giving up a leadoff double to Marcell Ozuna in the top of the seventh inning. Ozuna eventually came around to score on a sacrifice fly, which cost Danks a chance at the victory. Still, it was an encouraging outing for the southpaw, as he gave up just four hits and walked nine while striking out five. He has another favorable matchup next week against the Cubs, but most mixed league owners can afford to wait and see for now.

Fri May 24 201314:16John Danks activated from disabled list
White Sox activated LHP John Danks from the 15-day disabled list.
He'll make his season debut on Friday against the Marlins. Danks wound up posting a 3.18 during his four rehab starts, but he held a 15/13 K/BB ratio and his velocity isn't all the way back yet. Consider him only in AL-only formats for the time being.

Wed May 22 201323:41John Danks to make season debut Friday
John Danks (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list to make his season debut on Friday against the Marlins.
It's been assumed for a few days that Danks would get the call Friday, and White Sox manager Robin Ventura has finally made it official. The left-hander posted a 3.18 ERA during four rehab starts, but he also had a 15/13 K/BB ratio and is still dealing with diminished velocity. Mixed leaguers should stay away for now.

Mon May 20 201308:21Danks (shoulder) goes four-plus in rehab
John Danks (shoulder) went 4 2/3 innings Saturday in his third minor league rehab start.
If everything checks out with the left-hander early this week, he should be cleared to join the White Sox starting rotation on Friday night against the Marlins. Danks has been on the shelf all year and makes for a decent waiver stash right now in AL-only fantasy leagues. Since he's coming off shoulder surgery and still rebuilding his arm strength, it might not be wise to trust him in standard mixed formats.

Fri May 17 201308:51John Danks could be activated next weekend
John Danks (shoulder) could rejoin the White Sox' rotation next weekend.
Danks will make what could be his final rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. The left-hander holds a 3.00 ERA over three rehab outings, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. Fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach, though he would get a nice first matchup against the Marlins if he returns next weekend.

Mon May 13 201318:44John Danks to make another rehab start
White Sox manager Robin Ventura confirmed that John Danks (shoulder) will make at least one more rehab start.
Danks holds a 3.00 ERA over three minor league rehab starts, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. However, the White Sox like how he's coming along and think he'll be ready to help out the big club soon. Dylan Axelrod or Hector Santiago will lose their rotation spot when Danks returns.

Tue May 7 201318:48John Danks wild in second rehab start
John Danks (shoulder) allowed just two runs and struck out four but also walked five over five frames in a rehab start with Triple-A Columbus Tuesday.
A mixed bag performance from the left-hander. Danks was throwing in the 84-88 mph range in his first rehab start, but there have been no reports on what he was throwing Tuesday. He's expected to make at least one more minor league start before rejoining the White Sox' rotation.

Sun May 5 201309:00John Danks to make 2-3 more rehab starts
John Danks (shoulder) is expected to make 2-3 more rehab starts before rejoining the White Sox' rotation.
"We'll be looking forward to having him,'' manager Robin Ventura said. Danks allowed two runs over seven frames in his first rehab outing with Double-A Birmingham, though his velocity remains down. Fantasy owners should take a wait and see approach once he's activated.

Thu May 2 201323:58John Danks pitches well, but velocity down
John Danks (shoulder) gave up two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings Thursday in his first rehab start with Double-A Birmingham.
That's the good part. The bad part is that he allowed a home run, struck out just one and was reportedly sitting mostly in the 84-88 range with his fastball. Danks did hit 91 mph once, though. Overall, it's a pretty encouraging outing, but Danks could probably use a couple more. His timetable could be accelerated, though, following Gavin Floyd's elbow injury.

Sun Apr 28 201316:19Danks cleared for rehab assignment Thursday
John Danks (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday at Double-A Birmingham.
It will be the first real game action Danks has seen since being placed on the disabled list to open the season. With Gavin Floyd sidelined, the White Sox will use Hector Santiago in their rotation for now, but Danks could be ready to return in early May.

Sun Apr 28 201309:35John Danks to begin rehab assignment
John Danks (shoulder) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at one of the White Sox' minor league affiliates in the middle of this week.
Danks made his final start in extended spring training on Friday. His velocity is slowly creeping back up and he should rejoin the club's rotation sometime in May. The White Sox could use him with Gavin Floyd (elbow) now headed to the disabled list.

Mon Apr 22 201317:18Danks (shoulder) not ready for rehab stint
John Danks (shoulder) will make at least one more start in extended spring training.
The White Sox have been pleased with Danks' progress thus far, but they want him to continue building arm strength before going out on a minor league rehab assignment. He's likely a month or so away from rejoining the White Sox.

Sun Apr 21 201311:10Danks almost ready for rehab starts
John Danks (shoulder) is nearly ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment.
"The reports have been good," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said Saturday. "He's been feeling good in between, and he's been able to do his side [sessions]. He's been able to do all his exercises, and he continues to progress." Danks has been pitching at extended spring training in Arizona, but he seems to be ready for the next step. He'll likely make multiple starts in the minor leagues before being activated by the White Sox.

Tue Apr 16 201320:16John Danks making strides
John Danks (shoulder) threw six innings in an extended spring training game on Monday.
The White Sox continue to be encouraged by Danks' progress and say his velocity -- which was at 89 mph in his previous outing -- continues to go up. "He threw fine, it's a positive report," manager Robin Ventura said. "People that have seen him are having positive reports. He's just feeling stronger and it's probably coming out of his hand a little better." It's not clear when Danks will join a minor league affiliate.
