Wed Jun 8 202208:45Luis Arraez Could Be Available Off The Bench On Wednesday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (shoulder) was removed from Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees due to right shoulder tightness. After the game, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli didn't express much concern about the injury. He stated that Arraez has dealt with similar shoulder issues in the past and that this recent injury is milder than previous ones. The Twins will be facing left-hander Nestor Cortes on Wednesday, so Arraez will be on the bench to begin the game. He will be undergoing treatment on Wednesday and if he responds well to it, then there's a chance he'll be available off the bench for the game.

Wed Jun 8 202200:23Luis Arraez Exits Tuesday With Right Shoulder Tightness
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (shoulder) exited Tuesday's game against the Yankees with right shoulder tightness, per The Athletic's Dan Hayes. He went 2-for-4 with two singles before exiting. Jose Miranda came in to replace Arraez. He should be considered day-to-day until more is known. Miranda, who has gotten off to a hot start in June may see more playing time if Arraez needs to miss any time.

The 25-year-old has appeared in 23 games so far this year and he's slashing .301/.378/.370 with one home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored.

Thu May 5 202220:54Dylan Bundy, Luis Arraez Test Positive For COVID-19
Minnesota Twins pitcher Dylan Bundy and infielder Luis Arraez tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Jayce Tingler also tested positive for the virus. Bundy, Arraez, and Tingler are expected to be placed on the injured list and will quarantine away from the team. Bundy's next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Houston Astros is up in the air, and he will have to clear MLB protocols before returning to the team. Arraez and Tingler will be away from the team and be eligible to return once they clear protocols. Jose Miranda should see an uptick in at-bats while Arraez is out. Miranda is off to a slow start and is hitting .077 (1-for-13) in his big league career.

Sun May 1 202212:06Luis Arraez The Twins Primary First Baseman
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez, who has never played first base before this season, is now ostensibly the team's primary first baseman with Miguel Sano (knee) banged up and possibly requiring a trip to the injured list after being pulled from Saturday's game with knee issues. Gio Urshela and catcher Gary Sanchez could also be possibilities to play first base, while Jose Godoy is getting work there on Sunday. Arraez is starting at the cold corner and is hitting ninth on Sunday against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Josh Fleming with Sano out. Sano is sitting out for the fourth time in the last five games. On top of the injury, he's hitting just .093 with one home run and three RBI in his 17 games played. Arraez's fantasy stock is on the rise, and he's also hitting .317 (20-for-63) with a homer and seven RBI in 70 plate appearances.

Sat Sep 25 202116:31Luis Arraez Not Starting Saturday
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez isn't in the lineup on Saturday for a matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays and left-hander Robbie Ray. The infielder is batting .284 with a .353 on-base percentage, two home runs, and two stolen bases in 451 plate appearances this season. It'll be Jorge Polanco starting at shortstop and batting second against the Blue Jays. Arraez has been productive, but with Polanco and Josh Donaldson on the roster in Minnesota, he hasn't been starting regularly as of late. The 24-year-old has started just four of the Twins' last eight games. It's a situation to keep an eye on for fantasy managers in the season's final games.

Sun Sep 5 202117:25Luis Arraez Collects Three Hits, Two RBI Sunday
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in Sunday's win over the Rays. Arraez delivered a two-run single in the second inning, then rapped a pair of base hits to cap off his ninth game of the season with at least three hits. He was 0-for-9 to start September, so this was a welcome sight for fantasy managers who roster the .298 hitter. Arraez has set a new career-high in RBIs and walks, and is on pace to best his previous marks in runs scored and hits. He makes for a solid points league asset, given his miniscule 10.4 percent strikeout rate.

Sat Aug 21 202123:57Luis Arraez Swipes A Base Saturday
Minnesota Twins utility man Luis Arraez swiped his second base of the season against the New York Yankees Saturday. He also went 1-for-4 with a single. Arraez has had a strong last 30 games, slashing .356/.409/.452, but it's not enough to make him worthy of a roster spot in fantasy when he has just two homers and two steals in 308 at-bats on the year. He's also cooled down considerably over his last seven games, with a .602 OPS in that shorter span.

Sat Aug 7 202114:19Luis Arraez Absent From Saturday's Lineup
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez (knee) is absent from the lineup for Saturday's contest against Houston. Arraez left Friday's game early after injuring his right knee while attempting to make a play in the field, though the team considers him day-to-day with right knee tightness. It's not surprising to see him on the bench Saturday, considering he only just returned from a right knee strain. Jorge Polanco will start at second with Willians Astudillo slotted in as the third baseman Saturday. Polanco should be a staple in DFS lineups right now, riding a 10-game hitting streak with four home runs and eight RBI in that span.

Fri Aug 6 202123:44Luis Arraez Exits Friday's Game Early With Right Knee Tightness
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez (knee) exited Friday's game early after getting roughed up on a play in the field. Arraez was pulled in the eighth inning, with the Twin calling the injury right knee tightness. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day. It's fortunate that he appeared to avoid serious injury, though it's still frustrating for those who roster Arraez, as he's dealt with multiple ailments this season, having just returned from a right knee strain. Expect him to get the day off on Saturday, with Jorge Polanco likely to man second base in his absence.

Wed Aug 4 202117:11Luis Arraez Reaches Base Five Times Wednesday
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two walks in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to Cincinnati. Batting out of the cleanup spot for the fourth straight game, Arraez was an on-base machine, rapping out a trio of hits and drawing two walks. The 24-year-old now has five hits in his last two games and raised his season slash line to .310/.375/.399. The lack of power and steals certainly hurt his outlook in category formats, but his minuscule strikeout rate and 90.3 percent contact rate make him an underrated points league asset.

Sat Jul 31 202117:00Luis Arraez Reinstated From Injured List
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez (knee) was reinstated off the 10-day injured list Saturday. Arraez spent the minimum amount of time sidelined with a right knee strain, as he was able to ramp up his activity fairly quickly. He'll get the start at third base and bat cleanup for Minnesota against Cardinals righty Jake Woodford. Woodford has allowed a fair amount of hard contact and ranks in the 23rd-percentile in expected batting average- though Arraez has limited fantasy upside beyond his batting average and on-base ability.

Sat Jun 26 202103:50Nola ties record with 10 straight Ks, Phils, Mets split DH
Bryce Harper blew kisses at a booing crowd to punctuate his home run, and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the New York Mets 2-1 in eight innings Friday night for a doubleheader split after Aaron Nola matched a long-standing major league record with 10 straight strikeouts in the opener. Odúbel Herrera drove in the tiebreaking run with a groundout against reliever Sean Reid-Foley (2-1) in the eighth as both games took an extra inning to determine a winner. Nola tied Tom Seaver’s mark for consecutive strikeouts set 51 years ago, but the Mets rallied to win the first game 2-1 in eight innings on big hits by Francisco Lindor and Dominic Smith. Following a costly error by third baseman Alec Bohm in the bottom of the seventh, Archie Bradley (3-1) limited the damage and allowed only pinch-hitter James McCann’s tying sacrifice fly in the nightcap. In the opener, Seth Lugo (1-0) struck out three in the top of the eighth and stranded two runners for the NL East leaders, playing their third doubleheader... [More]
