Thu Aug 15 201318:48Erik Bedard knocked around by A's
Erik Bedard lasted just 4 2/3 innings Thursday, getting rocked for five runs on seven hits and four walks in a loss to the Athletics.
The A's plated three runs in the first with Bedard having retired only one batter, and they scored two more in the third before eventually knocking him out in the fifth. The left-hander had actually been pitching quite well before today's outing, having posted a 3.10 ERA over his last five starts. He's too susceptible to starts like Thursday's, though, to be trusted in mixed leagues. Bedard needs to be avoided next week in Texas.

Sun Jul 28 201314:49Erik Bedard drawing some trade interest
Leila Rahimi of CSNHouston.com reports that Erik Bedard is drawing some trade interest.
Bedard has a 3.51 ERA since the beginning of June and recently struck out 10 over 6 1/3 hitless innings against the Mariners. He has a pedestrian 4.28 ERA and 1.45 WHIP for the season, but he's struck out nearly a batter per inning and could be viewed as a back-end of the rotation upgrade for some teams. It surely wouldn't cost much to get him.

Wed Jun 19 201323:34Bedard sharp in no-decision against Brewers
Erik Bedard allowed just one run over 7 1/3 innings on Wednesday but was forced to take a no-decision as the Astros lost to the Brewers.
Bedard was in vintage form, as he allowed only four hits and two walks while striking out eight. Save for one start, the southpaw has actually been very good since early May but has just two wins to show for it. Such is life as a Houston Astros pitcher. He'll take on the Cardinals next on Tuesday.

Sat Jun 15 201300:12Bedard goes six innings in win over White Sox
Erik Bedard allowed an unearned run over six innings Friday in a win over the White Sox.
It was his second win of the season, both of them coming in his last three outings. Bedard held the White Sox to just three hits while walking three batters and striking out six. The only run scored on a sacrifice fly by Paul Konerko in the fourth inning. Bedard has gone five innings or more while allowing two earned runs or fewer in six out of his last seven starts, but his days of being relevant in mixed leagues are behind him.

Tue Jun 4 201301:01Erik Bedard goes seven strong Monday
Erik Bedard put up his best start of the season Monday, spinning seven innings of one-run ball in a 2-1 win over the Angels.
Bedard struck out just two, but he permitted only five hits and walked one. It's the first time this season that he went seven innings. After a slow start that resulted in him being booted from the rotation, the southpaw has now posted a 2.79 ERA over his last five starts. He'll try to keep it going this weekend in Kansas City.

Fri May 24 201323:45Bedard gives up two runs in no-decision
Erik Bedard gave up two runs in five innings Friday in a no-decision against the Athletics.
Bedard was in line for his first victory of the season, but Jose Veras coughed up the lead in the top of the ninth. The veteran southpaw wasn't all that efficient, as he gave up four hits and walked five while throwing just 54 out of 99 pitches for strikes. Bedard has had better results recently, but there's little reason for optimism in fantasy leagues, especially with a start against the Rockies in Colorado next week.
