Mon Sep 22 201421:59Jennings (knee) will not return to Rays in 2014
Jennings (knee) will not return to the Rays in 2014, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Although Jennings has reported feeling better of late, he hasn't improved enough to warrant a return during the season's final week. With the Rays securely out of the playoff contention, there would be little reason to rush him back anyway. Rather than travel with the team for their final six-game road trip, Jennings will remain in Tampa Bay, where he'll continue to undergo treatment with the hopes of getting fully healthy for 2015. His knee injury has kept him out of action since Aug. 29, limiting the outfielder to 123 games this year. When healthy, Jennings was able to post a .244/.319/.378 slash line, but his 15 steals represented a four-year low. He should have a starting outfield job heading into next year, but it's currently unclear how the recent ailment will affect his status in the offseason, where he'll be arbitration-eligible for the first time.

Jennings (knee) will likely miss the remainder of the 2014 season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jennings has missed the previous nine games due to the injury, and it looks like he will miss a lot more. The team has been rolling with Kevin Kiermaier in center field, and with no playoff chase this season, there is no reason for the club to rush back their center fielder.

Thu Sep 4 201417:28Jennings (bruised knee) has no timetable for return
Jennings (bruised knee) has no timetable for a return, Roger Moooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Jennings is still experiencing pain when he runs, an obvious concern for a player whose skill set is predicated on speed. Rather than trot out Jennings in the lineup at diminished strength, the Rays will give the outfielder as much time as he needs to get back to 100 percent health, though there's no telling how long that might take. Until Jennings reports improvement, Kevin Kiermaier will man center field on a near-everyday basis.

Thu Jul 24 201400:51Desmond Jennings goes 3-for-5
Desmond Jennings went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored as the Rays' leadoff hitter on Wednesday.
The good news is that Jennings is hitting .311 this month. The bad is that he hasn't attempted a single steal after going 1-for-4 in June. He also has just one homer, so he hasn't made much of a contribution in mixed leagues. He rates as a pretty big disappointment for fantasy purposes.
