Fri Mar 29 201323:07Ogando goes four innings vs. Padres on Fri.
Alexi Ogando allowed three runs in four innings Friday against the Padres.
He allowed just two hits on the night, but they were costly, as they both left the yard. Ogando will wrap up the spring with a solid 3.55 ERA in seven appearances, but it's a bit discouraging that he issued 15 walks in 25 1/3 innings. Still, he makes for an intriguing sleeper now that he's getting another shot as a starter. He'll make his season debut next Wednesday against the Astros.

Tue Mar 19 201319:11Alexi Ogando struggles in loss to Cubs
Alexi Ogando struggled a bit in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs, surrendering three runs on five hits over his five innings of work.
Ogando also walked a pair while striking out three in the contest. All of the damage against him stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Alfonso Soriano connected for a two-run homer in the first, and Darwin Barney added a solo shot in the second inning. His upside in strikeouts makes him an intriguing target in the middle rounds of mixed leagues.

Alexi Ogando was a little shaky Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing two unearned runs on three hits and two walks.

Thu Jan 17 201317:29Ogando won't play in World Baseball Classic
Alexi Ogando is on the provisional roster for the Dominican Republic for the World Baseball Classic, but he has informed the Rangers that he will not play.
Ogando is making the move back to the rotation in 2013 after spending last season in the bullpen, so his focus is on getting ready for the regular season. Rosters for the World Baseball Classic don't have to be finalized until February 20, so there's still time for a replacement to be named for the Dominican Republic team.
