Mon Jun 17 201321:20Alexi Ogando still limited to flat ground
Alexi Ogando (shoulder) remains limited to flat ground throwing.
Ogando still has some soreness in his right shoulder, and the Rangers aren't going to let him thrown from the mound until he's completely pain-free. He'll need to go out on a rehab assignment after throwing off a mound at least a couple times, so the right-hander isn't close to returning.

Thu Jun 13 201320:55Alexi Ogando to resume throwing Friday
Alexi Ogando (shoulder) will resume a throwing program on Friday.
Ogando has made just one start over the last month due to triceps and shoulder ailments. Despite his propensity for injury while in the rotation, the Rangers still plan on using him as a starter when he comes back. "He wants to be a starter, and he's good at it, so why shouldn't he be a starter?" general manager Jon Daniels said. There's no timetable for Ogando's return.

Alexi Ogando allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday in his first start since May 15.
The Rangers activated Ogando from the disabled list before the start and he picked up right where he left off, allowing just three hits and three walks while striking out six. He was denied a win for his effort, but the outing was still a positive one for the right-hander. Start him with confidence going forward. His next start will be against the Indians on Monday.

Alex Ogando (biceps) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab start Friday at Double-A Frisco.

Rangers manager Ron Washington said Friday that he's not sure whether Alexi Ogando (biceps) will require a minor league rehab start before coming off the disabled list.
Ogando will throw off flat ground on Saturday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday. An MRI revealed no structural damage in his biceps, so as long as he feels no pain, he should be ready to go as soon as he's eligible to come off the disabled list.

Ogando was placed on the disabled list on Thursday with biceps tendinitis after he felt some pain during Wednesday's start against the Athletics. Wed May 15 201318:50Alexi Ogando earns victory over A's
Alexi Ogando pitched six innings of two-run ball Wednesday in the Rangers' 6-2 win over the A's.
It's the seventh time in nine starts this season that Ogando has allowed two earned runs or less. Of course, he's not pitching deep into games at all -- he's gotten a total of four outs in seventh inning or later -- but his return to the rotation has gone as well as the Rangers could have hoped.

Fri May 10 201323:38Ogando gives up two runs in no-decision
Alexi Ogando yielded two runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Astros.
Ogando dominated the Astros in his season debut, but he wasn't nearly as effective this time around. The right-hander had a hard time finding the strike zone, as he walked a season-high four batters and threw two wild pitches. Fantasy owners are fortunate that his line wasn't worse. Ogando will carry a 3.09 ERA into a start against the Athletics next week in Oakland.

Sat May 4 201323:08Ogando keeps Red Sox under wraps in win
Alexi Ogando allowed one run in six innings to get the win against the Red Sox on Saturday.
Ogando wasn't dominant, but he was good enough to get his third win. He allowed six hits and two walks while striking out four. His strikeout totals leave something to be desired, but you can't argue with his 3.08 ERA. His next start, Friday against the Astros, should provide some nice-looking numbers for Ogando owners.

Thu Apr 18 201318:27Alexi Ogando rocked by Cubs
Alexi Ogando didn't have his good stuff Thursday, getting lit up for five runs on six hits and two walks over just 2 1/3 frames in a loss to the Cubs.
Ogando was able to escape in the first thanks to a line-drive double play, but things went downhill from there. He gave up three hits and a run in the second and was finally chased in the third after allowing a triple, a walk and a pair of homers. Ogando had looked pretty locked in in his first three starts, so consider this a bump in the road. He'll look to bounce back next week in Anaheim.

Wed Apr 17 201318:20Alexi Ogando to start Thursday as scheduled
Alexi Ogando will start as scheduled on Thursday against the Cubs despite Wednesday's rainout.
Justin Grimm will be skipped. The Cubs will push Carlos Villanueva, Jeff Samardzija and Edwin Jackson back a day. It's a break for Samardzija owners, as he'll now face a depleted Brewers lineup rather than the Rangers.

Mon Apr 8 201323:45Alexi Ogando earns win over Rays
Alexi Ogando yielded one run in 5 1/3 innings Monday in a victory over the Rays.
Ogando struck out just two tonight after fanning 10 Astros last week, but the difference in opponents factored in there. He's 2-0 with a 0.77 ERA after two starts, and he has more good matchups coming up with the Mariners on the docket.

Wed Apr 3 201317:32Alexi Ogando strikes out 10 Astros
Alexi Ogando struck out 10 over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in defeating the Astros on Wednesday.
Ogando, Michael Kirkman and Joe Nathan combined on 15 strikeouts in the 4-0 win today, matching the Rangers' total from Yu Darvish's near perfect game last night. In all, Rangers pitchers fanned 43 Astros in the three-game series. Of course, Ogando is plenty good enough to rack up strikeouts against quality offenses, too. It's more of a consistency and durability thing for him. He's well worth playing in mixed leagues right now.
