Hudson lasted only one inning, allowing six runs on eight hits, while striking out two in Saturday's embarrassing loss to the Dodgers.
After giving up four runs in the first, Hudson started the second by giving up consecutive singles to Dee Gordon and Yasiel Puig before being pulled from the game. It was the shortest outing in Hudson's 16-year career. The veteran is having a rough September; hes 0-2 for the month and has allowed 14 runs in 12 innings over three starts.

Hudson turned in six innings Sunday's loss to the Tigers, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and a walk while notching just one strikeout.
Hudson managed a quality effort Sunday night, but the veteran righty was certainly not at his best during the first week of September. In two starts over the past seven days, the four-time All-Star allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 15 hits across 11 innings. Hudson will look to regain his top form next weekend versus the Dodgers.

Hudson was hit hard Monday, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits over five innings. He struck out five in the loss to Colorado.
Despite pitching poorly Monday, Hudson was actually in line for the win due to the Giants putting up seven runs on opposing start Franklin Morales. However, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead in another classic Coors Field offensive showdown. Hudson deserves a pass for this outing after holding the Rockies to just one run over eight innings his last time out at home. He will return to AT&T Park for his next start against the Tigers this Sunday.

Hudson gave up a run on four hits, a walk and eight strikeouts over eight innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Rockies.
The outing was one of Hudson's best since joining the Giants in 2014 while striking out a season-high eight batters. The right-hander needed only 87 pitches (61 for strikes) to get through eight innings and probably should have been allowed to finish it himslelf as Santiago Cassilla blew the lead in the top of the ninth. Hudson remains 9-9 on the year with a 2.90 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 106:29 K:BB ratio in 167.2 innings. He faces the Rockies again Monday, but this time in Colorado.

Hudson allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, walking one and striking out three over 5.1 innings of a 10-3 win over the Nationals on Friday night.
Hudson (9-9, 2.99 ERA) evened his record with a solid, albeit not terribly efficient (he needed 95 pitches, just 59 for strikes) outing. He is not a big strikeout producer, but he has been a nice fantasy option this year. He'll take on the Rockies at home next time out.

Hudson was hit hard Saturday, surrendering five runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings against the Phillies.
Hudson has hit a rough patch in the month of August, posting a 6.00 ERA in three starts. We have seen a regression since the All-Star break (1-3, 3.57 ERA) after his stellar first half (7-6, 2.87 ERA). At 39-years-old, it would have been amazing if Hudson kept up his early season success throughout the entire 162-game schedule, so this minor regression is likely a result of the veteran getting tired down the stretch. He is still a solid option going forward, but owners should not expect the dominant results we saw in the first half.

Hudson gave up three runs on six hits over six innings in a losing effort against the Royals on Saturday.
James Shields tossed a complete game shutout, negating the value of Hudson's quality start Saturday. It was another efficient outing for the veteran right-hander, as he needed just 84 pitches to record 18 outs before departing in the seventh inning. Hudson is lined up to face the Phillies in a home start Saturday for his next turn in the rotation.

Hudson allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts over five innings Monday versus the Mets.
Hudson coughed up a two-run homer to Daniel Murphy to start the game, but settled down, not allowing another earned run. The 39-year-old continues to be rock solid for the Giants, sporting a 2.74 ERA with a 91:24 K:BB ratio in 144.1 innings. Hudson will make his next start Saturday in Kansas City.
Wed Jul 30 201401:06Hudson coughs up 3 runs, losses to Pirates
Tim Hudson gave up three runs on six hits over seven innings Tuesday in a loss to the Pirates.
Hudson struck out two, walked one, and yielded two homers which accounted for all the runs charged to him. Indeed, he pitched pretty well outside Josh Harrison's solo homer in the first and Travis Snider's two-run shot in the following frame. Over his first seven home starts this season, the right-hander went 5-0 with a 2.16 ERA, but he's now lost four straight at AT&T Park. Those numbers are systemic of his overall struggles. Hudson started the year 7-2 with a 1.81 ERA in 13 starts, but entered 1-5 with a 4.40 ERA in his past seven. Hudson toes the rubber against the Mets in New York next week.

Thu Jul 24 201416:42Tim Hudson takes tough loss in 2-1 game
Tim Hudson lost despite giving up just a pair of unearned runs over six innings Thursday against the Phillies.
Hudson certainly hasn't pitched as well the last month and a half as he did early on, but he also hasn't had much luck; he's had four outings since June 29 in which he's allowed one or two runs and he's gone 1-2 in those games. The Phillies' runs today were aided by a passed ball in the first and a Michael Morse error in the fifth.

Thu Jul 10 201419:01Tim Hudson gives up six runs in loss
Tim Hudson was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings by the A's on Thursday.
Hudson picked the Giants over his original team as a free agent over the winter, causing the A's to sign Scott Kazmir instead. All parties are probably happy with the way things worked out. Hudson, while struggling some of late, has gone 7-6 with a 2.87 ERA in San Francisco.

Tim Hudson hurled six innings of one-run ball Saturday in a no-decision against the Padres.
Hudson was fantastic, yielding three hits and zero walks while striking out four San Diego hitters. But the Giants didn't win the game until the 10th. Hudson will carry a 2.53 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next scheduled start at home against the team that drafted him in 1997 -- the A's.

Wed Jun 25 201401:21Hudson hit hard for 2nd straight start
Tim Hudson was rocked for six runs -- four earned -- on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings in a loss versus the Padres on Tuesday.
Hudson punched out four and walked two. He was coming off his worst start as a Giant, allowing seven earned runs in four-plus innings Wednesday in a loss to the White Sox. The veteran right-hander entered that outing with a 1.81 ERA, and he exits tonight with a 2.62 earned run average. After falling to 7-4, Hudson looks to get back on track when he hosts Cincinnati on Sunday.

Wed Jun 18 201417:38Hudson serves up seven runs in loss to CHW
Tim Hudson was shelled for seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the White Sox.
It was the worst outing of the season for Hudson, who entered Wednesday's start with a shiny 1.81 ERA and watched that mark climb to 2.39. Chicago tagged him for 12 hits -- including two home runs. Hudson should bounce back in his next start at home against the Padres.

Thu Jun 12 201419:14Tim Hudson beats Nationals for seventh win
Tim Hudson allowed just an unearned run over seven innings to beat the Nationals on Thursday.
It's the third time in four starts and fourth time overall that Hudson has pitched seven innings and not allowed an earned run. He doesn't figure to remain one of baseball's very best pitchers all year long, but nor is he likely to fall apart at any point. He is going to end up making that two-year, $23 million deal he signed with the Giants look like a bargain.

Sun Jun 1 201417:35Hudson throws seven shutout frames vs. STL
Tim Hudson threw seven shutout innings to help the Giants rout the Cardinals on Sunday in St. Louis.
The veteran right-hander was again brilliant, yielding only three hits to the dangerous St. Louis offense over his seven scoreless frames. He struck out six and moved to 6-2 on the year with a 1.75 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 50/8 K/BB ratio in 77 1/3 total innings. Hudson should keep it all rolling next time out against the Mets.

Wed May 28 201401:03Hudson baffles Cubs over 7 shutout frames
Tim Hudson fired seven shutout innings in a gem of a victory against the Cubs on Tuesday.
The veteran allowed six hits, struck out five and didn't issue a walk. Hudson has enjoyed a stellar start to his Giants' career, going 5-2 with a 1.92 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 10 starts. The 38-year-old has only coughed up more than two runs in a start once. Hudson takes on the Cardinals on Sunday.
