Fri Dec 6 201318:06Cubs and Royals kicking the tires on Joba
Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports that the Cubs and Royals are among the teams interested in free agent right-hander Joba Chamberlain.
According to Feinsand, nothing is imminent with either team. Chamberlain is fresh off a dreadful season in which he posted a 4.93 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 38/26 K/BB ratio over 42 innings. Presumably he would work in a middle relief role with the Royals, but could be a candidate to work his way into save chances with the Cubs if he performs well.

Fri Nov 8 201318:17A dozen teams inquired on Joba Chamberlain
Sweeny Murti of WFAN reports that "more than a dozen" teams have already inquired about free agent Joba Chamberlain.
Murti also notes that the Yankees are not one of those teams. The hard-throwing 28-year-old is coming off a disappointing season in which he posted a 4.93 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 38/26 K/BB ratio over 42 innings. There remains a tremendous amount of talent in his right arm though, and Chamberlain shouldn't have any difficulty securing a bullpen role someplace this winter.

Thu Sep 5 201323:35Joba Chamberlain ejected from game
Joba Chamberlain was ejected from Thursday's game against the Red Sox for arguing with home plate umpire Joe West.
Chamberlain correctly argued that Shane Victorino failed to check his swing on a 2-2 pitch, but West disagreed. Victorino then singled in the go-ahead run. Chamberlain isn't going to face a suspension for his actions.

Fri Jul 19 201320:45Tigers are not interested in Joba Chamberlain
While the Tigers are scouring the market for bullpen help, Danny Knobler of CBS Sports reports that they are not interested in Joba Chamberlain.
The Tigers have scouts watching the Marlins, Brewers, Padres, Mariners and Astros and appear increasingly likely to add an arm or two to solidify the backend of their bullpen in front of closer Joaquin Benoit. While the Yankees are aggressively pushing Chamberlain in trade talks, the interest appears to be lukewarm at the moment.

Wed Jul 10 201314:23Report: Phils not pursuing Joba Chamberlain
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal hears that the Phillies are not one of the teams pursuing Yankees' reliever Joba Chamberlain.
The Phillies have been mentioned as a possible destination for Chamberlain in the past, but there's nothing there right now. Still, it's quite clear that the Yankees are trying to move him. The 27-year-old right-hander has a 5.75 ERA and 22/10 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings this season and will become a free agent this winter.

Wed Jul 10 201310:56Yankees looking to deal Chamberlain, Hughes
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal was told by an AL executive that the Yankees are "aggressively" pushing trades involving Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes.
In fact, the same executive said that Chamberlain could soon be dealt to a National League team. Meanwhile, Rosenthal was told by another source that nothing is close with either player. Both Chamberlain and Hughes are slated to be free agents after the season. While it's a bit surprising to see a contending team dangle a starter in the trade market, Ivan Nova has pitched well of late and the Yankees have Michael Pineda waiting in the wings in the minors.

Tue Jul 2 201311:18Braves, Giants interested in Joba Chamberlain
The Braves and Giants have an interest in Joba Chamberlain, according to George A. King III and Dan Martin of the New York Post.
Braves scout Jim Fregosi watched Chamberlain pitch last Friday against the Orioles. Meanwhile, the Giants sent scout Lee Elder to Target Field for last night's Twins-Yankees game exclusively to watch Chamberlain. The impending free agent has a disappointing 5.75 ERA and 22/10 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings this season, but his velocity is still in the mid-90s. The Yankees aren't expected to bring him back in 2014, so they could be able to get an interesting piece in return.

Joba Chamberlain (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Tuesday.

Thu Oct 11 201223:26Chamberlain leaves after being hit by bat
Joba Chamberlain exited Thursday's game against the Orioles after being hit in the right elbow by a broken bat.
Matt Wieters singled while leading off the 12th, but his broken bat caught Joba's elbow. The right-hander had a huge welt right away and, although he wanted to remain in the game after throwing a few warm-up pitches, the Yankees thought better of it. It shouldn't be a long-term issue, but Joba likely won't be available for a few days, at least.
