Sat Jul 26 201401:55Tim Lincecum gives up six runs to Dodgers
Tim Lincecum was pounded for six runs in 4 1/3 innings by the Dodgers on Friday.
Well, he's not facing the Padres any longer. Lincecum struck out six and walked none tonight, which could have boded well, but he gave up nine hits, three of them triples. Don't buy into the hot streak: Lincecum still isn't an every-week start in mixed leagues.

Wed Jul 23 201401:00Lincecum earns 1st career save in 14th inning
Tim Lincecum notched the first save of his eight-year career, coming into Tuesday's game in the 14th inning and getting the final two outs for a Giants win.
George Kontos started off the inning, but got into trouble when Ryan Howard singled to lead off the frame and Wil Nieves doubled with one out to put runners at second and third. Lincecum allowed Howard to score on a ground out, then walked Cameron Rupp, but was able to get Domonic Brown to ground out to first to end the game. As a starter, Lincecum had made strides lately, and now sports a 3.65 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 108/47 K/BB ratio. Lincecum started on Sunday but should be able to make his next scheduled start on Friday against the Dodgers at home.

Sat Jul 12 201401:09Tim Lincecum combines on shutout of D'backs
Tim Lincecum allowed three hits over seven innings and combined with two relievers on a shutout of the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Lincecum entered this one having allowed 15 earned runs in 16 innings against the Diamondbacks this year, so this rates as quite a turnaround. Then again... it's still just the Diamondbacks. Lincecum has allowed one run over 30 1/3 innings in his last four starts, but those have all come against struggling offenses (two against San Diego, one against St. Louis). That said, he's finished up the first half at 9-5 with a 3.66 ERA, numbers the Giants are most certainly happy with. We wouldn't expect him to keep it up after the break.

Sun Jul 6 201422:47Lincecum wins third straight start, beat Pads
Tim Lincecum limited the Padres to one run on three hits over 6 1/3 innings in a win on Sunday.
Two starts after tossing a no-hitter against the same Padres bunch, Lincecum allowed a Brooks Conrad home run for the only run scored on his watch. Lincecum did walk four batters while striking out six. He's now won three straight starts to run his record to 8-5, and he'll carry a 3.91 ERA and 1.28 WHIP into Friday's meeting with the Diamondbacks.

Wed Jul 2 201400:53Lincecum follows no-no with 8 shutout frames
In his first start since Wednesday's no-hitter, Tim Lincecum spun eight shutout innings in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.
In his last start, Lincecum became the fourth pitcher with two no-hitters and two Cy Youngs, joining Sandy Koufax, Randy Johnson and Roy Halladay. In this outing, he failed to match Johnny Vander Meer's 1938 feat of throwing back-to-back no-hitters, but fantasy owners won't lodge a complaint. Lincecum, who struck out six and walked two tonight, has run up 17 consecutive shutout innings to slash his ERA from 4.90 to 4.42. Lincecum caps a superb two-start matchup week with a Sunday date in San Diego. After he does well in that one, we'd strongly suggest you sell high.

Wed Jun 25 201418:28Lincecum throws second no-hitter vs. Padres
Tim Lincecum threw the second no-hitter of his career in Wednesday's 4-0 defeat of the Padres.
Lincecum's only blemish in the historical outing was a second-inning walk to Padres third baseman Chase Headley. "Big Time Timmy Jim" was otherwise flawless, striking out six batters and using only 113 pitches over his nine hitless frames. He's only the second Giants pitcher to throw two no-hitters, joining Christy Mathewson. Lincecum, who also no-hit the Padres last year, will face off against the Cardinals next.

Sat Jun 21 201400:47Tim Lincecum loses to Diamondbacks
Tim Lincecum took a loss to the Diamondbacks after giving up four runs in six innings on Friday.
Lincecum fanned just one, matching his low total in 235 career starts. Since getting pulled from a no-hitter after five innings on May 28, Lincecum has gone 1-2 with a 6.85 ERA in four starts. There's nothing to suggest he's going to return to being a quality mixed-league option.

Sun Jun 8 201421:35Lincecum turns in quality start against Mets
Tim Lincecum allowed three runs over six innings in Sunday's win over the Mets.
Lincecum gave up six hits and a walk, serving up two home runs to Curtis Granderson for his three runs allowed. He's 5-4 but owns a 4.97 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, a reflection of his up and down season -- after a miserable April, Lincecum had a 2.86 ERA in May. Start him at your own risk Friday against the Rockies.

Thu May 29 201421:01Tim Lincecum lifted due to blister
Tim Lincecum was removed from Wednesday's start against the Cubs due to a blister on his right middle finger.
Lincecum was no-hitting the Cubs through five innings, though he had already thrown 96 pitches. He'll have the benefit of an extra day of rest between starts and is expected to be fine for Tuesday's outing in Cincinnati.

Wed May 28 201419:35Lincecum hurls five no-hit frames to top Cubs
Tim Lincecum was removed after five no-hit innings, and the Giants blanked the Cubs 5-0 on Wednesday.
Lincecum's only enemy was inefficiency, as he needed 96 pitches to get through his five innings of work. As a result, he didn't factor in the decision. The right-hander walked four while striking out five. He's been generally good in May after a down April, and he'll look to carry that success over into June on Tuesday at the Reds.

Sat May 24 201401:23Tim Lincecum picks up win over Twins
Tim Lincecum pitched six innings of two-run ball Friday in a win over the Twins.
Lincecum worked around six walks and two wild pitches. In fact, half of his pitches in the game were balls, but the Twins just couldn't capitalize. While it was Lincecum's third straight quality start and fourth win of the year, it should hardly be taken as an encouraging outing for his owners. He's walked 13 in his last three starts

Tue May 13 201401:07Lincecum toys with Braves again, whiffs 11
Tim Lincecum shaved his ERA from 5.55 to 4.78 on Monday, firing 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball and striking out a season-high 10 versus the Braves.
Perhaps Lincecum (3-2) should just lease out his services on a game-to-game basis depending on who is playing the Braves. He's held them to two runs total in two starts against Atlanta this month, while alternate foes have proved more tricky. Lincecum has made it impossible to trust him in mixed formats. He's failed to go beyond five innings in half of his eight starts, while he's 3-1 in the four outings in which he's surpassed that threshold. Lincecum, no doubt chagrined to see jerseys without tomahawks, rolls out the red carpet for the upstart Marlins in San Francisco next time around.

Wed May 7 201416:13Tim Lincecum only goes four innings
Tim Lincecum lasted just four innings Wednesday, yielding four runs on eight hits and two walks in a loss to the Pirates.
Lincecum was handed a one-run lead before taking the mound but then promptly coughed up two runs in the first and second innings. It was the third time in seven starts that he's failed to go five innings, and his ERA now sits at 5.55. The right-hander will try to get back on track next week at home versus the Braves.

Fri May 2 201423:13Lincecum goes six innings in victory
Tim Lincecum fired six innings of one-run ball in Friday's 2-1 win over the Braves.
Lincecum gave up six hits and three walks, but Freddie Freeman's RBI single in the fifth inning was the only damage against him. He struck out four batters in the victory. We'll call this progress after his last outing, but it's still tough to trust him in standard fantasy leagues right now.

Sun Apr 20 201420:49Lincecum allows 3 ER in six innings Sunday
Tim Lincecum allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings Sunday, earning the win over the Padres.
Lincecum wasn't great but he was good enough, walking three and striking out seven. Home runs remain an issue, as Nick Hundley's solo shot gives Lincecum six homers allowed over 21 innings this year. The win was his first this season, and he'll square off with the Indians in an interleague matchup Saturday in his next time out.

Wed Apr 16 201403:19Lincecum has first encouraging outing of 2014
Tim Lincecum bounced back against the Dodgers on Tuesday, spinning five innings of one-run ball in a no-decision.
The right-hander whiffed five, walked none, and scattered five hits. Well, mostly scattered. Lincecum was one pitch away from escaping the second inning and ostensibly throwing five shutout frames, but a full-count offering to Juan Uribe ended up a souvenir to a lucky fan in the left field bleachers. Lincecum, who slashed his ERA from 9.90 to 7.20 this evening, leads the Giants into San Diego on Sunday.

Thu Apr 10 201401:15SP Lincecum blasted by Diamondbacks again
Tim Lincecum was punted around in a loss to Arizona on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on seven hits over four innings.
Lincecum struck out five and allowed one walk and a pair of homers before hitting the showers early. The Snakes also saw Lincecum on Thursday (four runs on eight hits over six frames), and they had no problem squaring him up six days later. Lincecum will be ecstatic to get a new opponent, but that 9.90 ERA will require some time to sand down. He toes the rubber in San Francisco against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Thu Apr 3 201419:47Tim Lincecum decent in no-decision
Tim Lincecum struck out seven but yielded four runs on eight hits over six frames in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Diamondbacks.
He didn't walk a batter, something he did on just one occasion all of last season. Lincecum exited the contest with the Giants down 4-2, but San Francisco rallied with six runs over the final three innings. The righty entered the afternoon game about 24 hours removed from a bout with food poisoning, so, all things considered, it wasn't a bad showing. He'll get the D'Backs again next week.

Thu Apr 3 201414:47Tim Lincecum to make scheduled start
Tim Lincecum (illness, knee) will make his scheduled start Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Lincecum left his last exhibition start after taking a comebacker off the knee and has also dealt with food poisoning this week, but he'll give it a go. The right-hander struggled this spring and is a pretty borderline option in mixed leagues versus the D'Backs.
