Ryan Rowland-Smith yielded four runs over seven innings in a loss to the Athletics on Monday.

The Athletics actually scored a run before even managing their first hit. In the fourth inning, Rowland-Smith walked three straight batters before giving up a sacrifice fly to Kevin Kouzmanoff. He didn't give up his first hit until a solo home run by Cliff Pennington in the sixth. All told, he gave up three hits while walking five and striking out one. Rowland-Smith has a 5.25 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over his first two starts.
