RF Scott Schebler ended a streak of 25 consecutive plate appearances without striking out Monday night. Schebler struck out in the first inning against RHP Matt Shoemaker, and struck out twice before finishing 1-for-3 in a 9-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Schebler's streak was the major leagues' fourth longest this year.

Schebler picked up the start in left field for the second time in five games, as the Dodgers continue to mix and match in the outfield while Enrique Hernandez (hamstring) and Yasiel Puig (hamstring) remain on the DL. The 24-year-old has already provided three homers in just 24 at-bats since joining the Dodgers as a September call-up, but his more modest production at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season suggests he'll earn nothing more than a part-time role in the outfield over the final few weeks.

Schebler went 1-for-4 with a leadoff home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Angels.

Schebler's numbers in Triple-A are nothing special, but Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has shown a willingness to ride the hot hand. With Enrique Hernandez on the disabled list and Carl Crawford dealing with a back injury, Schebler may receive some playing time as the season winds down.

Schebler was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The jump up to Triple-A this season saw Schebler's OPS drop nearly 200 points from his mark at Double-A a year ago (from .921 to .731), but he still managed 13 homers, 15 steals, and a strikeout rate under 20 percent. Chances are, the 24-year-old will serve merely as a depth option over the final month and return to Oklahoma City to start 2016.

Schebler is batting a disappointing .246/.317/.426 for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

After last year's .921 OPS in Double-A, Schebler has stalled a bit in Triple-A. He has the upside of a fourth outfielder at this point it seems.

Just one day after being called up to the Dodgers, Schebler was sent back down to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Schebler collected one hit in three at-bats Friday against St. Louis, but with Yasiel Puig's activation off the disabled list, there simply wasn't room on the 25-man roster for him.
