Wed Jun 5 201315:32Travis Snider goes 0-for-4 in loss to Braves
Travis Snider finished 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the Pirates' loss to the Braves on Wednesday.
Snider is now batting .245/.312/.374 and he has just one extra-base hit since May 28. It's quite odd that Bucs manager Clint Hurdle insists on batting him second.

Mon Jun 3 201322:50Travis Snider goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Travis Snider went 0-for-4 and struck out three times Monday against the Braves.
Snider is batting .195 with four RBI in 41 at-bats since his big pinch-hit grand slam against the Cubs on May 21. The Pirates are giving him every chance to succeed, but a .255 average and two homers in 149 at-bats isn't anything to write home about.

Tue May 21 201323:30Travis Snider belts PH grand slam
Travis Snider launched a pinch-hit grand slam in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.
After getting Gaby Sanchez to fly out to shallow left with one out, Shawn Camp served up a fat pitch to Snider, who deposited it just over the right-center field wall. Snider has just two longballs this season, but they've both come over the last week.

Thu May 16 201322:30Travis Snider hits first homer in victory
Travis Snider went 3-for-5 and finally hit his first homer of the season Thursday in the Pirates' 7-1 defeat of the Brewers.
He also swiped his first base. Snider had zeroes in both categories through 35 games and 91 at-bats going into the night. He's actually hitting .292, but that's probably not going to continue, not with his strikeout rate. It's a must that he hit more homers if he's going to establish himself as a starter in the Pittsburgh outfield.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Travis Snider (side) could be available to pinch-hit on Sunday.
Snider was scratched from Saturday's lineup with tightness in his right side, but it sounds like he's avoided the dreaded oblique injury that likely would have cost him significant time. Garrett Jones is starting in right field Sunday, with Gaby Sanchez handling first base.

Travis Snider doubled twice Sunday against the Reds.

Fri Dec 14 201219:29Snider and Marte not guaranteed to start
During Pirates Fest on Friday, general manager Neal Huntington backed off of his previous statement that Travis Snider and Starling Marte were locked in as starters in right and left field respectively.
Huntington instead, offered that there are lots of guys to compete for the position, including Alex Presley and Jose Tabata. He didn't mention Garrett Jones as an outfield option, so the team either views him as their starting first baseman, or he could be a trade candidate.

Travis Snider is in the Pirates' lineup Wednesday for just the second time since September 4.
He's been limited mainly to pinch-hitting duty this month due to a right hamstring issue, but the Pirates think Snider is finally back to 100 percent. The 24-year-old is batting .252/.336/.346 with one homer in 40 games since joining the Bucs.
