Sat Oct 14 2023 | 10:41 | Chris Paul Commits Five Turnovers On Friday |
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul logged 20 minutes of work in Friday's exhibition with the Lakers. The veteran finished with six points, going 2-for-6 from the field and 2-for-3 from deep. He added four assists, although he amassed five turnovers. The 2005 No. 4 overall pick has now totaled seven turnovers in his first two preseason games as a Warrior. But Paul should settle down as he continues to build a better rapport with his new teammates moving ahead. His fantasy outlook could also improve, especially once managers learn more about his role with Golden State in 2023-24. Paul isn't a lock to start this year, but he should log enough minutes to surpass ADP expectations, assuming he stays healthy, making him still worth adding in any fantasy format. |

Tue Sep 26 2023 | 22:07 | Steve Kerr Still Undecided On Chris Paul's Role |
When asked if he has established a starting lineup for the 2023-24 season, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he "hasn't decided yet" and will try "different combinations" during training camp. The question on most fantasy managers' minds since the Warriors acquired guard Chris Paul this offseason is whether or not he will start for his new team, but Kerr was not able to provide much clarity on that inquiry. The 38-year-old floor general has never come off the bench at any point of his career, so there may be a level of pride attached to that status. Paul's Yahoo ADP currently sees him listed as a late sixth-round pick in 12-team leagues, and he should play close to 30 minutes a night no matter the role. |

Tue Sep 12 2023 | 19:29 | Chris Paul Expected To Join Starting Five For Warriors |
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul is expected to step into a starting role for the team once the season rolls around. According to Marc Spears, the veteran floor general is expected to start alongside superstar Stephen Curry. As of right now, the starting lineup sounds like a very small one if the other three are Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Green. Paul would continue to be a very valuable fantasy asset when it comes to assists, especially with shooters like Curry and Thompson on the wings. |

Sat Sep 9 2023 | 08:55 | Chris Paul Expected To Start For Warriors |
Golden State Warriors point guard Chris Paul will be a starter for the team this season, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears. "I do expect him to start. And I think it's like five-minute spurts," Spears said on Yahoo Sports' Good Word with Goodwill podcast. "I don't know that they really want his minutes to be high, but I think they're gonna try it. I could be wrong, but that's the gist I'm getting. This isn't an opinion that he's expected to start. It's what I'm hearing. He's never not started in his career." Paul himself has also previously said that he expects to start, and it will be very interesting to see how the dynamics work between him, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson. |

Fri Sep 1 2023 | 21:56 | Chris Paul’s Role With Warriors Remains Unclear |
Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently discussed the decision to trade for point guard Chris Paul earlier this offseason. "It seemed highly unlikely we would do that", Lacob admitted in regard to trading for Paul. "But the more we thought about it and considered our options, we thought, 'Hey, he's a great player. He's always made other people better.' He hasn't won a championship yet, but maybe he can do that with our group", Lacob explained. It remains to be seen if Paul will start alongside Stephen Curry in Golden State's backcourt this fall, but the 38-year-old floor general still deserves to crack the top 100 in upcoming fantasy drafts. |

Sun Aug 6 2023 | 00:03 | Chris Paul Has A Chance To Remain A Starter |
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul could remain a starter this season. While many had assumed the veteran would move to the bench after his trade to Golden State, head coach Steve Kerr stated that the starting lineup would take shape during training camp. Paul is nearing two decades in the National Basketball Association. He's played in 1,214 regular season games, averaging 17.9 points, 9.5 assists, and 2.1 steals. Although the 38-year-old isn't as productive as he once was, he may remain a valuable commodity for fantasy managers in 2023-24, regardless of his role. |

Wed Jul 26 2023 | 08:39 | Chris Paul Believes He Can "Thrive" Next To Draymond Green |
Golden State Warriors point guard Chris Paul is looking forward to linking up with his new team on the court and believes that he won't have any issues working well with Draymond Green, despite Green having said a few years back that he doesn't "like" Paul. "I feel sorry for the other teams that's got to play against both of us," Paul said of Green. "Because he's always been very vocal, as I am. I've always thrived with guys like that." Currently, it's unclear how much action Paul will see next to Green, as the Warriors could elect to use the veteran floor general off the bench. Paul has so far started all of his 1,363 career games across the regular season and the playoffs. |

Fri Jul 14 2023 | 21:59 | Chris Paul Aiming To Start In Golden State |
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul is looking to function as a starter next season. Sam Amick of The Athletic reports that "it's quite clear that Paul is holding out some hope that there's a way for him to start". Amick also alludes to the notion of a small-ball lineup with Paul operating alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Paul has started in all 1,214 games of his decorated career. It's fair to envision the 12-time All-Star handling a similar allotment of nightly minutes whether he starts or comes off the bench. Paul's shooting efficiency and assist upside figure to be rather strong any time he gets to play in lineups with Curry and Thompson. |

Thu Jul 13 2023 | 23:11 | Chris Paul Plans To Play Beyond This Season |
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul plans to play beyond this season. The 38-year-old, who's salary isn't guaranteed in 2024-25, has had a productive career, averaging 17.9 points, 9.5 assists, and 2.1 steals in 1,214 regular season games. He spent the last three seasons in Phoenix. However, Paul battled injuries and was traded during the offseason. Although the 2005 No. 4 overall pick hasn't discussed his role in Golden State with head coach Steve Kerr, most assume he will come off the bench. But considering how often Kerr changes things, the veteran should get some chances with the first five throughout the 2023-24 campaign. If Paul figures out how to stay on the court, he can still be an impactful fantasy option, despite his expected statistical regression. |

Thu Jun 22 2023 | 16:20 | Chris Paul Being Traded To Golden State |
Washington Wizards point guard Chris Paul is being sent to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for combo guard Jordan Poole, a 2030 protected first-round pick, and a 2027 second-rounder. The 38-year-old wasn't likely to partake in Washington's rebuild and Paul now joins the experienced, battle-tested Warriors. If Paul finally stays put in the Bay Area, the five-time assist champion forms a dynamic duo in Golden State's backcourt with two-time scoring champ Stephen Curry, who would figure to function off the ball more than ever. Paul's assist potential and scoring efficiency for fantasy purposes should be strong while operating alongside Curry and also sharpshooter Klay Thompson. |

Wed Jun 21 2023 | 19:54 | 76ers Not Expected To Pursue Chris Paul |
The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the obvious names mentioned after guard Chris Paul was dealt to the Washington Wizards. The Sixers are a championship caliber roster that appears to be only one piece away from winning it all. The potential departure of guard James Harden has been one of the bigger storylines early in the offseason. The assumption was that the Sixers would pursue free agent Fred VanVleet or possibly trade for Paul who is stuck on the rebuilding Wizards currently. However, it's being reported that the Sixers aren't pursuing Vanvleet or Paul right now. Instead, the Sixers are focused on bringing back Harden. It seems likely that Harden would be open to returning to the Sixers. However, the length and salary of the deal is probably going to be the biggest issue here. Regardless, it appears the Sixers would prefer to bring back Harden over Vanvleet or Paul. |

Mon Jun 19 2023 | 17:46 | Clippers Showing Interest In Chris Paul |
The Los Angeles Clippers have already reportedly expressed interest in a reunion with guard Chris Paul. On paper, Paul to the Clippers does make sense in a lot of ways. The Clippers don't have a true ball handler and already have top tier talent in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Honestly, Paul would put this team over the top, but what is it going to cost them? The expectation is that the Washington Wizards will look to move Paul once they finalize the deal with Phoenix. The Wizards are expected to go into full rebuild move and the Clippers don't have many draft picks to give up. That being said, the Clippers might have to strip away the young talent that they do have in order to acquire Paul from Washington. It remains to be seen what Washington wants for Paul, but don't be shocked if he ends up in a Clippers uniform again. |

Sun Jun 18 2023 | 18:56 | Wizards Likely To Trade Chris Paul |
According to TNT's Chris Haynes, the Wizards are expected to trade guard Chris Paul, who was acquired from Phoenix on Sunday in exchange for Bradley Beal. Paul, who has averaged 17.9 points and 9.5 assists since entering the league in 2005, has been a potent producer over the years. However, he's dealt with countless injuries, including a groin injury during the 2023 postseason. Haynes added that the Lakers will pursue the 38-year-old. But there are also rumors Paul may return to the Clippers if Washington buys him out. Either way, a move to Los Angeles appears to be the likely scenario. |

Sat Jun 17 2023 | 09:38 | Lakers Have "Strong" Interest In Chris Paul |
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Lakers are keeping a close eye on Chris Paul's situation in Phoenix and have "strong" interest in him if the veteran star is waived or stretched. Buha adds that Paul could be the Lakers' top target at the point guard position if D'Angelo Russell and/or Dennis Schroder aren't re-signed. Per Buha, the Lakers have also discussed the idea of re-signing Russell and adding Paul in free agency, with Paul being the favorite to be the starting point guard. Paul said earlier in the week that he would like to stay in Phoenix, but he likely wouldn't mind suiting up alongside long-time friend LeBron James. |

Thu Jun 15 2023 | 19:36 | Knicks Could Be Bad Fit For Chris Paul |
Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul is one of the hottest names in the trade market right now. One of the teams currently linked to the 38-year-old are the New York Knicks. At first glance, Paul could be a good fit for the Knicks. He's an all-around veteran player that should be able to make a positive impact on these younger players. However, the Knicks already have Jalen Brunson. He served as the point guard last season and averaged a career-high 6.2 assists in 68 games with New York. The 26-year-old appears to be the long term solution to the Knicks problems at point guard. That being said, the organization shouldn't mess that up by bringing in Paul. That would force Brunson to move over to shooting guard, which would take the ball out of his hands more often. Paul is on the last leg of his career and doesn't exactly fit into this current rotation that well. |

Wed Jun 14 2023 | 12:48 | Suns Actively Engaged In Trade Talks Involving Chris Paul |
NBA insider Shams Charania has reported that the Phoenix Suns are actively engaged in trade conversations involving point guard Chris Paul. The Suns are set to part ways with Paul and there are multiple options for the team to do so, but the current focus appears to be on a trade deal. According to Charania, there is "interest" in the market for a trade involving Paul. Paul's 2023-24 contract becomes fully guaranteed if not waived by June 28, so Phoenix has a couple of weeks to work on a deal. |

Sun Jun 11 2023 | 20:04 | Chris Paul Unlikely To Return To Phoenix If Waived |
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, guard Chris Paul would likely be unwilling to remain in Phoenix when and if the team waives him. The Suns are exploring a way to trade the 38-year-old. However, if Phoenix doesn't pick up his $30.8 million team option, which is the plan, he wouldn't look to re-sign for a veteran's minimum salary. Stein also mentioned that there won't be a shortage of interested suitors to obtain Paul's services, considering he is still productive. But fantasy managers will be hesitant about adding him to their rosters, especially since he's battled more than enough injuries in recent years. |
