Jordan Farmar has opted into the final year of his contract with the Nets, contrary to expectations.

Farmar was expected to test the market as a free agent, after being disappointed with his role last season, but it's possible he didn't think he'd earn an equivalent annual salary. He's not going to earn more minutes if Deron Williams and Jason Kidd both opt for Brooklyn, but could be a key player if they choose Dallas.
