Sat Jun 30 201218:55Jordan Farmar opts into final year w/ Nets
Jordan Farmar has opted into the final year of his contract with the Nets, contrary to expectations.
Farmar was expected to test the market as a free agent, after being disappointed with his role last season, but it's possible he didn't think he'd earn an equivalent annual salary. He's not going to earn more minutes if Deron Williams and Jason Kidd both opt for Brooklyn, but could be a key player if they choose Dallas.

Fri Jun 29 201210:47Jordan Farmar expected to opt out from Nets
Jordan Farmar intends to opt out of his contract by Saturday night, according to Howard Beck of the NY Times.
The Nets bought the rights to No. 41 pick PG Tyshawn Taylor on draft night, possibly in anticipation of Farmar's decision. Assuming Deron Williams re-signs with Brooklyn, the Nets are unlikely to pony up the amount of money Farmar is likely after.

Thu May 3 201214:59Jordan Farmar expected back with Nets?
The New York Post expects Jordan Farmar to pick up his $4.25 million player option for the 2012-13 season.
If Farmar declines the option, he'll become an unrestricted free agent. But he likely knows that if Deron William walks in free agency, he'll have a clear path to the starting gig. Farmar has averaged 13.4 points, 7.5 assists and 1.6 3-pointers per game in 25 career starts. It's a situation for fantasy owners to monitor closely this summer.

Fri Apr 6 201211:04Jordan Farmar thinks he could play this year
Jordan Farmar (groin) said there is a "chance" he'll play again this season.
The Nets had previously ruled Farmar out for the year, but Farmar is holding out hope he'll be able to return for the final stretch. He remains out indefinitely and is not an option in fantasy formats.

Thu Apr 5 201216:05Jordan Farmar done for the season
Jordan Farmar (groin) is out for the season.
Farmar set career-highs in points (10.4) and field-goal percentage (46.7) this season, but appeared in just 39 games -- 34 as a backup. He'll enter an interesting offseason as Deron Williams will opt out and become an unrestricted free agent. If Deron walks, Farmar could invoke his own player option and contend for the starting point guard gig in New Jersey.

Jordan Farmar (groin) returned to action on Friday, scoring five points on 1-of-2 shooting (including a three) with one assist in 13 minutes.
Farmar needs an injury in front of him to have any real fantasy value, though some extended health could eventually make him a deep league option once again.

Mon Mar 19 201219:07Farmar (groin) to practice on Tuesday
Jordan Farmar (groin) will practice on Tuesday and be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
As long as Deron Williams' calf injury doesn't linger, then Farmar will struggle to hold real value in fantasy leagues.

Mon Mar 19 201210:50Jordan Farmar not expected to play
Updating a previous item, Jordan Farmar (groin) is not expected to play in Monday's game against the Cavs.
Farmar just had PRP treatment on Thursday. With Deron Williams (calf) looking 100 percent once again, there's not much upside with Farmar anyway.

Sun Mar 18 201211:55Farmar (groin) probable for Monday's game
Avery Johnson expects Jordan Farmar (groin) to play in Monday's game vs. the Cavaliers.
Farmar just had PRP treatment on Thursday and the quick turnaround is mildly surprising. Given Farmar's uncertainty and the return of Deron Williams, there's no incentive to roll the dice.

Sat Mar 17 201218:58Jordan Farmar (groin) has PRP treatment
Jordan Farmar recently had platelet-rich plasma therapy on his ailing groin injury, and he's unsure when he might be able to return.
Groin injuries can be tricky and Farmar should probably be cut with Deron Williams returning to action this weekend.

Fri Mar 16 201210:58Jordan Farmar out Friday with sore groin
Jordan Farmar (groin) will not play on Friday against the Magic.
Obviously, Farmar will not be starting in place of Deron Williams (calf). With Farmar out and Williams unlikely to play, Sundiata Gaines stands to start at point guard for the Nets. In five starts this season, Gaines is averaging 9.8 points, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals.

Wed Mar 14 201222:30Jordan Farmar struggles, but Nets win
Jordan Farmar made another start at point guard for the Nets on Wednesday, but hit just 3-of-9 shots and zero 3-pointers on his way to 10 points, three assists and five turnovers.
He's been playing much better than this, but struggled with Jerryd Bayless tonight. Deron Williams is hoping to return over the weekend, but until you see it happen, Farmar is still worth starting if Williams is out.

Sat Mar 10 201222:33Jordan Farmar solid in start for ailing Nets
Jordan Farmar played well in a start for injured Deron Williams (calf) on Saturday, scoring 18 points with three 3-pointers, four rebounds and four assists.
Farmar made 7-of-11 FGs and is a capable starting point guard, but the Nets didn't have nearly enough firepower with both Brook Lopez and Deron Williams in street clothes. If D-Will misses any more games, you can do worse than plugging Farmar into your lineups.

Thu Mar 8 201200:38Jordan Farmar hits game-winner for Nets
Jordan Farmar came off the bench for 16 points, three assists, two steals and three 3-pointers, including the game-winner as the Nets beat the Clippers on Wednesday.
Farmar is sharing time off the bench with Anthony Morrow, who had 14 points, two steals and two 3-pointers in 17 minutes, but both players are going to be very inconsistent as long as they're not starting in New Jersey.
