Wed Feb 5 201421:02Jordan Farmar returns after left calf injury
Jordan Farmar suffered a left calf injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game and returned to the game.
He was playing fantastic ball tonight and this injury is on the same side as his bum hamstring which kept him out for all of 2014 to this point. Farmar was in some serious pain as he went to the bench and was wearing a wrap around his calf and he'll likely have to battle through some pain in this game. We'll update his status as the info becomes available.

Wed Feb 5 201417:36Jordan Farmar will start on Wednesday night
Updating a previous item, Jordan Farmar will indeed start against the Cavs on Wednesday night.
It makes sense to put Farmar with first string while Kendall Marshall adapts to playing with the second unit. Farmar will undoubtedly be on a minutes limit tonight in his first game of 2014. Farmar is worth a look in deeper leagues.

Wed Feb 5 201415:10Jordan Farmar could get the start on Wed.
Jordan Farmar may start at point guard against the Cavs on Wednesday night.
He would join Steve Blake, Wes Johnson, Robert Kelly and Robert Sacre. With Jodie Meeks (ankle) out of the lineup and Steve Nash resting, Farmar should get his share of playing time with Kendall Marshall likely to get a few more minutes tonight. Blake will pick up plenty of minutes at shooting guard.

Tue Feb 4 201412:31Jordan Farmar will dress Tuesday night
Jordan Farmer (hamstring) will be in uniform and available for Tuesday's game against Minnesota.
The plan is to limit Farmar's minutes Tuesday night as Steve Nash returns and then to up his minutes against the Cavaliers on Wednesday when Nash sits. The Lakers backcourt is about to get extremely crowded with the return of Nash, Farmar, and Steve Blake. Kendall Marshall owners should be a bit worried, but will want to wait to see how minutes are doled out before making any rash moves.

Mon Feb 3 201415:33Farmar, Nash and Blake possibly to play Tues.
Jordan Farmar (hamstring), Steve Blake (elbow) and Steve Nash are a "possibility" to play against the Wolves on Tuesday, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Farmar is the biggest surprise of the trio while the other two are not really an update from what was said on Sunday. The Lakers go from having only Kendall Marshall as a point guard to now having four, so it should be interesting to see how D'Antoni splits up his minutes. Marshall is going to lose minutes, but his owners might want to see how it plays out unless there's a hot free agent out there.

Sun Feb 2 201416:16Jordan Farmar goes through practice on Sunday
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) went through a full practice on Sunday.
He is still expected to be out at least a week and is behind fellow point guards Steve Nash and Steve Blake, according to team reporter Mike Trudell. Farmar's minutes will undoubtedly be held in check upon his return, so it's likely going to be at least a few weeks before he can consistently play in the mid 20s.

Fri Jan 31 201414:53Jordan Farmar unlikely for Tuesday night
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is unlikely for Tuesday's game against the Wolves, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
He's been out for all of 2014 after his second hamstring strain in December. Farmar has already been taking contact at practice and will likely be a key piece with the second unit. He was really filling it up before going down, so he'll be worth watching upon his return.

Thu Jan 30 201415:39Jordan Farmar (hamstring) practicing fully
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) returned to full-contact practice on Thursday.
Mike D'Antoni said on Jan. 23 that Farmar would miss another 2-3 weeks. He's already aggravated his hamstring twice this season and a cautious approach to his return makes sense, but it seems as though he'll easily beat D'Antoni's timetable. Unfortunately, his fantasy value is stifled with Kendall Marshall playing well and both Steve Nash (back) and Steve Blake (elbow) nearing a return.

Mon Jan 27 201416:21Jordan Farmar (hamstring) ramping up work
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) was ramping up his workout at practice on Monday.
He is believed to be a couple weeks away and the team will likely give him another ultrasound to check on the progress of his injury at some point. Considering he had two hamstring strains in December, the Lakers will likely take it easy on him upon his return. Steve Blake will likely beat him back and seems like a better stash at this point.

Thu Jan 23 201418:46Jordan Farmar (hamstring) 2-3 weeks away
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is still 2-3 weeks away from returning, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Farmar was originally expected to return in mid-February so this isn't a setback. The good news for L.A. is that Steve Nash could return as soon as Tuesday, and the clock for Kendall Marshall's fantasy value is ticking louder every day.

Wed Jan 1 201400:44Jordan Farmar (hamstring) won't return Tues.
Jordan Farmar will not return to Tuesday's game against the Bucks due to tightness in his left hamstring.
He will have an ultrasound on Wednesday and his hamstring and the Lakers can't catch a break at point guard. Farmar makes it the fifth starting point guard to suffer an injury after Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Xavier Henry and Kobe Bryant have all gone down. He did not score in 20 minutes with four rebounds, seven assists and one turnover. Kendall Marshall would likely take over should Farmar need to miss time.

Mon Dec 30 201315:59Jordan Farmar doesn't practice on Monday
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) did not practice on Monday due to tightness in his left hamstring.
He missed three weeks due to some tearing in his hamstring before his return on Christmas Day, so some tightness is to be expected. Farmar said he should play against the Bucks and should remain in fantasy lineups. He's worth owning in all standard formats.

Sat Dec 28 201301:24Jordan Farmar plays well in second start
Jordan Farmar turned it around on Friday night against the Jazz, scoring 16 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.
This is what owners were expecting and not the three-point dud on Christmas. The Jazz are dead last in defensive efficiency, but at least Farmar was still able to turn in a big game. He's worth owning in all standard formats with no competition behind him.

Wed Dec 25 201320:08Jordan Farmar struggles in return on Xmas
Jordan Farmar returned from his hamstring strain on Wednesday and played 33 minutes, shooting 1-of-7 from the field for three points, five boards, two assists and four turnovers.
He wasn't expected to see a full complement of minutes tonight, but still ranked second on the team behind Jodie Meeks' 38. Farmar should have better days ahead and will likely have the ball in his hands on the vast majority of LA's possessions. He shoots the three, can get some steals and should hand out nice assists totals, which makes him a strong pickup in standard leagues.

Tue Dec 24 201315:04Jordan Farmar (hamstring) ready to play Wed.
Jordan Farmar's ultrasound revealed that his torn hamstring has completely healed, setting the stage for his return on Wednesday.
Farmar is expected to jump into the starting PG spot which Xavier Henry has been filling out of necessity. He was on a tear in late November before getting injured, and fantasy owners should grab him off the waiver wire now that he's in sole possession of the starting job.
