Tue Dec 24 201300:02Jordan Farmar played full speed 3-on-3
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) has been ramping up his activity and played full-speed 3-on-3 on Monday.
If his Tuesday ultrasound evaluation goes off without a hitch, he could play on Christmas against the Heat. The Lakers are dying for a player to run their offense and Farmar would likely get all the minutes he can handle. He probably shouldn't be sitting on very many waiver wires with all the potential offensive responsibilities coming his way. Plus, he was tremendous before going down.

Fri Dec 20 201314:34Jordan Farmar not ruling out Christmas
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) said on Friday if his evaluation on Tuesday goes well, he could play on Christmas against the Heat.
This really isn't a major update from Wednesday's new of his re-evalution coming on Dec. 24. Farmar's tear in his hamstring could keep him out until 2014, but there is some serious opportunity at point guard. He likes to run a lot of pick-and-rolls -- a Mike D'Antoni offense staple -- and would likely see the lion's share of the minutes once he's deemed healthy. The Lakers are expected to use Xavier Henry, Kendall Marshall and Nick Young at point guard on Friday, so that's really all fantasy owners need to know about how badly the Lakers need Farmar back.

Wed Dec 18 201317:00Jordan Farmar out at least another week
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is expected to miss at least another week and will be re-evaluated on December 24th.
There was some optimism about Farmar possibly returning on Friday, but that will have to wait. After a terrific finish to the month of November, he will likely step in as the starting point guard as soon as he's deemed healthy. The Lakers play on Christmas against the Heat, which is the soonest Farmar could return. He is a decent stash for PG-needy owners.

Tue Dec 17 201316:28Jordan Farmar (hamstring) could play Friday
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) could return as soon as Friday's game vs. the Wolves.
His return this week is far from guaranteed. He'll have an ultrasound on Wednesday, and based upon the results he could be cleared to practice on Thursday. If he makes it through that practice unscathed the Lakers might plug him into the lineup. He may not start at PG in his first game back, but Mike D'Antoni has suggested that eventually he will start, and it seems inevitable given L.A.'s point guard situation.

Mon Dec 16 201323:51Jordan Farmar says he could return Friday
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) said he could return to the lineup on Friday if he's given a clean bill of health.
He will also have to make it through a practice and feel okay after that. Farmar was expected to miss almost all of December, so he's way ahead of that initial prognosis. He likely has the inside track for the starting job and makes for a very interesting pickup in most leagues. While serving as a backup, he was flirting with early-round value the week leading up to his injury, so he makes a lot of sense as a stash for owners seeking assists, steals and 3-pointers.

Mon Dec 16 201312:08Jordan Farmar (hamstring) 'close' to return
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is "close" to returning and the Lakers will re-evalute his status on Wednesday.
This rules out Farmar for two more games, but sets up a possible return during Friday's home game vs. the Wolves. Mike D'Antoni also said that Farmar will likely start when he's healthy, which isn't surprising given L.A.'s desperate need for a starting-caliber PG.

Fri Dec 13 201316:02Jordan Farmar thinks he's ahead of schedule
Jordan Farmar is hoping to "come back way ahead of schedule" from his hamstring tear.
He's expected to miss all of December with the injury, but at least an ultrasound from earlier in the week has shown some improvements and healing in the muscle. The Lakers are gutted at point guard with Steve Blake (elbow) and Steve Nash (back) hurt, so they'll certainly want him back as soon as possible. Farmar was great in his five games leading up to the injury, averaging 14.6 points, 5.4 assist, 1.2 steals and 2.6 triples, which makes him an interesting stash for owners needing a point guard.

Mon Dec 9 201319:28Jordan Farmar's hamstring is healing
An ultrasound on Monday showed Jordan Farmar's hamstring tear is healing and he will travel with the team.
To be clear, he's still out for this month and the team will have to continue to lean heavily on Steve Blake at point guard. Farmar was heating up before suffering the injury, so he might come back with some value once January comes around.

Mon Dec 2 201315:57Jordan Farmar (hamstring tear) out one month
An ultrasound revealed a tear in Jordan Farmar's hamstring and he will miss the next month.
He suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's game and looked to be in a lot of pain as he hobbled back to the locker room. The Lakers will be without their backup point guard and will have to lean on Xavier Henry and Nick Young to help Steve Blake. Henry had a career-high 27 points on Sunday night, so he's a decent pickup in deeper leagues. Although, Kobe Bryant's return could put a dent in his value over the next month.

Mon Dec 2 201310:46Jordan Farmar (hammy) to have tests on Monday
Jordan Farmar (hamstring) will undergo further testing on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
Farmar said that his hamstring has been tight for a few days and he didn't last a minute on Sunday before tweaking it. Steve Blake, Jodie Meeks and Xavier Henry should each get more minutes if Farmar misses Friday's game vs. the Kings.

Sun Dec 1 201322:21Jordan Farmar (hamstring) won't return Sunday
Jordan Farmar will not return to Sunday's game due to a moderately strained left hamstring.
The good news is that the injury doesn't sound serious and L.A. won't play again until Friday, giving Farmar four full days to recuperate. It's still a tough break for fantasy owners relying on Farmar, who was averaging 16.7 points, 3.3 triples and 4.7 assists in his previous three games.

Fri Nov 29 201323:53Jordan Farmar plays well yet again
Jordan Farmar had yet another solid effort against the Pistons on Friday, scoring 13 points with five boards, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
He's become quite the stat stuffer recently and has anchored the Lakers' second unit. Over his last five games, Farmar averaged 14.6 points, 3.0 boards, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 triples. Those would be must-start averages should he be able to sustain them, but the eventual return of Kobe Bryant could hurt. Farmar is still worth owning in standard leagues while he's hot like this.

Wed Nov 27 201323:09Jordan Farmar hits five 3-pointers, scores 15
Jordan Farmar made a season-high five 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over the Nets for 15 points with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 22 minutes.
He has eight 3-pointers over his last two games after his three in 26 minutes during a loss to Washington on Tuesday. This is four good games in a row and he's provided more than enough overall value to be worth a look in some leagues, but he won't have a high upside with only 19.4 minutes per game over his last five outings.

Tue Nov 26 201322:26Jordan Farmar scores 22 with eight assists
Jordan Farmar was outstanding off the bench against the Wizards on Tuesday with 22 points, two rebounds, eight assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
It's been a bumpy ride for Farmar so far this season and has really lacked consistency. However, Farmar is starting to get it going a bit over his last three, averaging 15.0 points, 6.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 triples. This is his best three-game stretch of the season, so he's worth a look for owners seeking assists.

Sat Nov 23 201304:58Farmar goes for 14 and eight in win
Jordan Farmar scored 14 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-9 shots (including two threes) with two rebounds, eight assists and a block in 19 minutes.
Farmar fell off the face of the earth but this could be a case of 'too little, too late' as Kobe Bryant's return is seemingly right around the corner. Steve Blake scored 14 points on 3-of-6 shooting with two threes, two boards, five assists and two steals tonight, and looks like he has the starting point guard job all wrapped up.

Wed Nov 20 201309:08Farmar 'in a tailspin' w/out Jordan Hill
Mike D'Antoni said that Jordan Farmar "went into a tailspin" once pick-and-roll partner Jordan Hill was removed from the second unit.
"What Jordan Hill gives you is the separation in the pick-and-roll and now Jordan Farmar can see [the floor]," said D'Antoni. "I told [Farmar], I said, 'Hang in there, I'm trying to get you guys paired back up.'" Farmar hasn't scored double-digit points in the past six games, spoiling any attempt to wring value from him with Steve Nash out of commission.

Sat Nov 16 201304:26Farmar on the side of a milk carton on Friday
Jordan Farmar followed up an 0-for-4 outing on Wednesday with the same exact shooting line on Friday, going scoreless with just six assists to his credit in 15 minutes off the bench.
Ouch. Farmar had started making inroads to be the team's de facto point guard but Steve Blake (nine points, seven rebounds, 10 assists) has rolled over him in the past week or so. Steve Nash's health will be an ongoing question so he will have plenty of chances down the road to earn more minutes, and Mike D'Antoni could change things on a whim in his favor, but owners certainly be willing to drop him at this time.

Thu Nov 14 201300:51Jordan Farmar awful in loss to Nuggets
Jordan Farmar was 0-for-4 for one points and one assist in 14 minutes on Wednesday.
He had a strong line on Tuesday, but has been pretty inconsistent all season long. Steve Blake consistently running circles around him and while Farmar could emerge as the best replacement for injured Steve Nash, Blake has clearly taken that title thus far.

Wed Nov 13 201302:40Jordan Farmar fills stat sheet off bench
Jordan Farmar came off the bench for nine points, seven rebounds, eight assists, a block and a 3-pointer on 4-of-9 shooting for the Lakers on Tuesday.
Steve Blake is starting at point guard, but Farmar should share time with him in a backup role at point guard. Farmar had been quiet over his last few, but looked good in Tuesday's blowout. He's usually a cheap PG option in FanDuel leagues, but like most of his backcourt mates, will be inconsistent along the way.

Sat Nov 9 201304:31Farmar posts low-end line in 23 minutes
Jordan Farmar scored 10 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 3-of-9 shots from the field (no threes) with four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.
This isn't the type of production owners were looking for with Steve Nash out, as Steve Blake's solid play both tonight and last night set the stage for Farmar to fade a bit. Nash is going to miss all sorts of time this season and Farmar originally looked like the guy that would take the reins, and while owners should be open to the idea that Blake could be the better play going forward we still like Farmar's upside a bit more than Blake's. In 9-cat leagues where Farmar takes a hit, it's fair to move Blake ahead of Farmar.
