Fri Jan 17 201421:26Augustin hits four treys off the bench on Fri
D.J. Augustin hit four 3-pointers in Friday's game, finishing with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with two assists and one steal in 20 minutes off the bench.
The four triples help ease the pain of the low assist and minute totals, and with the general lack of depth in Chicago and injury risks abound owners have incentive to hang on.

Sat Jan 11 201423:11D.J. Augustin gets 20 & 12, leaves to ovation
D.J. Augustin blew up for 20 points and 12 assists in 35 minutes off Chicago's bench on Saturday, leading his team to a much-needed win vs. the visiting Bobcats.
Augustin's stellar play earned him a standing ovation from the home crowd, and another one from any fantasy owners who rolled the dice on him vs. Charlotte. Jimmy Butler's absence allowed Augustin and Kirk Hinrich (12 points in 31 minutes) to share the court more often than usual, but he's chipping in enough points, 3s and assists to earn a spot on most fantasy squads.

Wed Jan 8 201401:21D.J. Augustin scores 13 points off bench
D.J. Augustin scored 13 points off the bench in Tuesday's 92-87 win over the Suns to go with two rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Kirk Hinrich's name is popping up in trade rumors now that the Bulls have made it clear they're going to be sellers this season. Augustin would likely take over as the primary point guard and has shown he's capable of putting up numbers with his new team. He's worth a stash in most leagues and might hold some low-end value even while Hinrich is still around.

Sun Jan 5 201401:45D.J. Augustin plays well in win over Hawks
D.J. Augustin hit 4-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, four rebounds, seven assists and a block in Saturday's win.
Kirk Hinrich started, but struggled with five points and two assists. DJA has actually been outplaying Hinrich for the most part, despite coming off the bench, but is still averaging just nine points and five assists over his last five games. And that makes him a borderline player to own in 12-team leagues.

Wed Jan 1 201400:13The Bulls ditch the two-PG lineup
D.J. Augustin played 20 minutes during Tuesday's 85-79 loss to the Raptors, scoring six points with three assists and one rebound.
The Bulls were running some two-point guard lineups before tonight, but they didn't need to, now that Luol Deng is back in the fold. Augustin's ceiling is really nothing more than a timeshare and his defense is going to drive coach Tom Thibdeau crazy at some point, so he's not worth owning in most leagues until Kirk Hinrich gets hurt again.

Tue Dec 31 201300:13D.J. Augustin scores 10 points w/ nine dime
D.J. Augustin played 29 minutes off the bench on Monday during a 95-91 win over the Grizzlies, scoring 10 points, one rebound, nine assist, four steals and two 3-pointers on 2-of-8 shooting.
He's played 31.0 minutes per game with Kirk Hinrich in the lineup over his last three games and it would appear he'll be able to maintain that type of a role with his new team. Augustin averaged 3.0 steals, 1.7 triples and 5.7 dimes in that span, so he's worth a look for owners looking to fortify those areas of their fantasy team. Kirk Hinrich played 31 minutes with six points, two boards, four assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.

Sun Dec 29 201300:11D.J. Augustin scores 11 in 31 minutes
D.J. Augustin played 31 minutes off the bench and hit 5-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals in Saturday's loss.
Kirk Hinrich is starting and had five points in 26 minutes tonight, but DJA is probably the better player to own. Just beware that they are going to split point guard minutes until further notice, which isn't good news for either of them.

Wed Dec 25 201315:51D.J. Augustin looks great again
D.J. Augustin was terrific off the bench against the Nets during an easy 95-78 win on Christmas, scoring 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting with two boards, five assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.
He took a charge and played solid some defense -- the worst part of his game. Augustin has easily become the second-best point guard on the Bulls and might be able to see close to 20 minutes per game behind Kirk Hinrich. He's worth a look in deep leagues, especially with Kirk Hinrich having some injury risk.

Sat Dec 21 201323:53D.J. Augustin goes for 18 & 10 in start at PG
D.J. Augustin started at point guard for the Bulls on Saturday and had a season-high 18 points and 10 assists to go along with five rebounds, two steals and four 3-pointers on 7-of-12 shooting.
Marquise Teague isn't getting it done and Kirk Hinrich sat out his fifth straight game with a sore back. DJA is playing well enough that it's time to grab him, and he might hold his value even when Hinrich is back. Augustin is averaging 12 points, 7.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.4 3-pointers over his last five games, and has played very well in two straight.

Thu Dec 19 201322:53D.J. Augustin scores season-high 15 points
D.J. Augustin scored a season-high 15 points during Thursday's loss to the Thunder to go with five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
The Bulls haven't been a very good offense as a whole since Augustin arrived, but the former Raptor is getting his. He's averaged 12.3 points, 7.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 triples over his last three games, including starting his last two games. Marquis Teague can't seem to get out of his own way and Augustin has clearly been the better player right now. Kirk Hinrich doesn't have a timetable to return from his injury, but it's not expected to keep him out long. Augustin's value lies primarily on a short-term basis.

Thu Dec 19 201302:21Augustin scores eight points w/ nine dimes
D.J. Augustin scored eight points with nine assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday.
It went a little better than expected against Patrick Beverley and he continues to run circles around Marquis Teague as the backup point guard. Augustin could put up some steals, treys and assists while Kirk Hinrich recovers from his back injury. Teague scored two points with four assists in 17 minutes tonight.

Wed Dec 18 201321:30D.J. Augustin is starting for the Bulls
D.J. Augustin is starting for the Bulls on Wednesday vs. the Rockets.
The move was expected after Marquis Teague looked like himself during a pathetic first half on Monday. Augustin only has low-end value in deeper leagues while Kirk Hinrich (back) is out.

Tue Dec 17 201301:09Augustin puts up 14 and eight in 37 minutes
D.J. Augustin started the second half of Monday's loss to the Magic, scoring 14 points on 5-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 37 minutes.
Augustin has question marks surrounding his knee and his ability to produce consistently, but it's also not a stretch to see the veteran point guard coalescing around the Bulls' other veteran starters. Marquis Teague (goose eggs everywhere, 11 minutes) may be completely shot in terms of confidence and Augustin is the clear player to own between the two, though Grade A injury risk Kirk Hinrich is day-to-day and will complicate things going forward.

Fri Dec 13 201311:08Bulls officially sign G D.J. Augustin
The Bulls officially signed G D.J. Augustin on Friday.
D.J. Augustin will be available for Friday's game vs. the Bucks. The Bulls are sorely in need of depth at the point guard position, and D.J. Augustin will bring that. That being said, it's unknown how he will be worked into the rotation, and his career averages of 9.4 points, 3.9 assists and 1.8 rebounds, leave much to be desired with regards to fantasy.

Wed Dec 11 201319:10D.J. Augustin signs with the Bulls
Bulls sign G D.J. Augustin.
He cleared waivers today and the terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. The Bulls have arguably the weakest point guards in the NBA with Kirk Hinrich and Marquis Teague, so he adds some depth. Augustin isn't worth owning in almost any league.

Wed Dec 11 201317:19D.J. Augustin clears waivers on Wednesday
D.J. Augustin cleared waivers on Wednesday afternoon.
It's not a surprise with no team really wanting to commit to him after his level of play continues to decline. Augustin is expected to sign with the Bulls, which is not a surprise after Kirk Hinrich just shot 0-of-10 from the field on Tuesday. Augustin can still be ignored in most leagues.

Wed Dec 11 201309:15Bulls may sign recently-waived D.J. Augustin
The Bulls are "strong frontrunners" to sign D.J. Augustin if he clears waivers on Wednesday, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Mike James is still recovering from a sprained knee and Marquis Teague has been ineffective, which leaves Kirk Hinrich playing huge minutes in the backcourt. Augustin is worth a glance for deep-league owners in need of assists, but he can be ignored in typical 12-team leagues.

Mon Dec 9 201316:39Raptors waive G D.J. Augustin Monday
Raptors waive G D.J. Augustin.
He's played a grand total of 29 minutes since Nov. 6 and the move is not unexpected after the team acquired Greivis Vasquez on Sunday. The six-foot guard has been a huge liability on defense in the last two years of his career, but there's a chance some team picks him up. Obviously, he has no fantasy value. Dwight Buycks will be the third-string point guard behind Vasquez and Kyle Lowry.

Fri Oct 25 201316:21D.J. Augustin will start on Friday
D.J. Augustin will get the start for the Raptors on Friday night.
Dwight Buycks should see a lot of minutes in the game, as well. Kyle Lowry will miss the game with his injured finger, but he will be ready for the season with a splint. Dwane Casey said he's likely going to play Buycks and Augustin as the backup to Lowry based on matchups, and because neither really separated themselves, there's not much to like here from a fantasy perspective.

Sat Oct 12 201322:36Augustin battles Buycks for backup PG minutes
D.J. Augustin scored eight points in 18 minutes off the Raptors' bench on Saturday, but he had only one assist vs. three turnovers.
Augustin is fighting for the backup PG job with rookie Dwight Buycks, who added eight points, six assists, two steals and two turnovers in 23 minutes. Buycks won't often have a stellar assist-to-turnover ratio, but he was the second-leading scorer in France last season and could emerge as a key part of Toronto's second unit. With Kyle Lowry's injury history, this backup position battle is worth watching in the early part of the season.
