Wed Apr 23 201400:53D.J. Augustin scores 25 in Game 2 loss
D.J. Augustin hit 10-of-22 shots and four 3-pointers for 25 points, seven assists and a steal in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Wizards.
Augustin shot it much better tonight, as he hit just 3-of-15 in Game 1, and is a big part of what the Bulls do since Derrick Rose isn't around. DJA will have to keep it going with the series heading to Washington, as the Wizards are suddenly thinking 'sweep.'

Tue Apr 22 201410:32Bulls look for D.J. Augustin to improve D
Coach Tom Thibodeau is looking for D.J. Augustin and the rest of the Bulls to improve their defense.
``Not only D.J., our defense,'' Thibodeau said when asked about Augustin's defense. ``I could go from start to finish. There's an endless list of things that we didn't do correctly. We're capable of doing much better. And we're going to have to." Augustin's defensive shortcomings were a frequent target of the Wizards during the fourth quarter of the Bulls' Game 1 loss on Sunday and even 38-year-old Andre Miller was able to score eight points in the final quarter. Thibodeau doesn't sound like he's ready to take Augustin off the court in crunch time, so it's a good thing that the Bulls have the new Defensive Player of the Year on their side in Joakim Noah.

Sun Apr 20 201421:53D.J. Augustin hits 10-of-10 FTs, 3-of-15 FGs
D.J. Augustin made 10-of-10 free throws to finish Sunday's game with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three turnovers in 32 minutes off the bench.
His quickness and penetration gave Washington fits, even though he made just 3-of-15 shots from the field. Kirk Hinrich added 16 points but the Bulls only shot 42.0 percent from the field, including 5-of-20 from downtown, and they were out-rebounded 45-39.

Wed Apr 16 201421:44Augustin leads Bulls in scoring off bench
D.J. Augustin hit 6-of-16 shots and three 3-pointers to score 17 points off the bench, which led the Bulls in a tough loss to the Bobcats on Wednesday.
The Bulls' starters (Kirk Hinrich, Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah) all played heavy minutes in a serious effort to win this game, but all of them scored between 11 and 14 points in the overtime loss. The Bulls finish as the No. 4 seed and will likely face the Wizards in Round 1, who are up 17 on the Celtics currently.

Mon Apr 14 201418:23D.J. Augustin (personal) is a game-time call
D.J. Augustin (personal) is a game-time call against the Magic on Monday.
He is not at the arena yet and there is not much information right now on his status. Considering he's still not there for an 8:00 game, Augustin could wind up sitting out. If he's out, Kirk Hinrich should get more while Mike Dunleavy could play more due to the Bulls going with less two-PG lineups.

Sat Apr 12 201401:15D.J. Augustin scores 24 points vs. Pistons
D.J. Augustin scored a team-high 24 points vs. the Pistons on Friday with four boards, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.
He was 9-of-10 from the line and is doing much better at getting his points from there. That's a big reason why he's scored at least 21 points in four of his last six games and he's become of the best offensive bench guards in the NBA. Augustin is a must-start player in fantasy formats.

D.J. Augustin scored a game-high 25 points against the Wizards on Saturday with four boards, four assists, two steals and six 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
He continues to hang big scoring lines on opponents and is a big reason why the Bulls rank eighth in the NBA for bench points per game since the All-Star break. Augustin's output in 3-pointers makes him a must-own player in standard formats.

D.J. Augustins scored 23 points with one board, five assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Hawks.
He has been a huge force off the bench for the Bulls and it's hard to believe the Raptors cut him loose earlier this season. Thanks to his output in 3-pointers, Augustin has become a must-start player in standard formats.

Tue Apr 1 201400:59Augustin hands out 11 assists on Monday
D.J. Augustin followed up his career best 33-point effort on Sunday with just four points on 1-of-9 shooting on Monday, but still handed out 11 assists to smooth things out with owners.
Augustin did not hit a three and like most nights he didn't have a steal or block, but he has been a top-100 player over the last two weeks and should be in most lineups.

Sun Mar 30 201421:37D.J. Augustin scores career-high 33 points
D.J. Augustin set a new career high with 33 points on 10-of-14 FGs and 10-of-10 FTs vs. the Celtics on Sunday, hitting three 3-pointers to go along with three assists and one steal.
Augustin played only 31 minutes and he continues to shine in a reserve role, having missed double-digit points just one time all month. Anyone seeking help with scoring, assists and FT percentage should look no further, and his value in nine-cat leagues is strengthened by a stingy 1.1 turnovers per game over the past month.

Mon Mar 24 201423:51D.J. Augustin has long overdue dud on Monday
D.J. Augustin did not make any 3-pointers against the Pacers on Monday with four points, one board and three assists in 28 minutes.
It's the first time he's failed to crack double-digit scoring this month, which is pretty impressive for a guy coming off the bench. Augustin put up averages of 17.8 points, 3.6 dimes, 0.3 steals and 2.2 triples on 47.1 percent from the field, so his fantasy owners should have no complaints about tonight's dud against a great Indiana defense.

Sat Mar 22 201423:22D.J. Augustin stays hot in win over Sixers
D.J. Augustin hit 5-of-11 shots and three 3-pointers for 16 points, four rebounds, six assists and a steal in 31 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
Starter Kirk Hinrich had nine points, three rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer in 32 minutes, but DJA is the guard you want to own in fantasy. He's been very reliable and is averaging 15.0 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 3-pointers over his last five games.

Fri Mar 21 201422:54D.J. Augustin scores 17 points vs. Indy
D.J. Augustin did his thing off the bench against the Pacers on Friday with 17 points, four boards, three assists, one steal, one block and one turnover in 30 minutes.
There are not many bench guards putting up the type of numbers Augustin has posted since the break. In that span, he averaged 15.4 points, 3.8 dimes, 0.4 steals and 2.2 triples on 41.8 percent from the field. Augustin is another case to support the claim minutes and role trump being a starter any day of the week.

Wed Mar 19 201422:04D.J. Augustin scores 20 off Bulls bench
D.J. Augustin had another nice game Wednesday, hitting 6-of-15 shots and four 3-pointers for 20 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Kirk Hinrich started and hit just 1-of-5 shots (a 3-pointer) for three points and two assists in a win over the Sixers. Hinrich is officially an afterthought, while DJA is a very strong fantasy option every night. In fact, he' scored in double figures in all 10 of his March games, draining 23 3-pointers along the way.

Mon Mar 17 201423:05Augustin goes cold from deep in loss
D.J. Augustin hit just 3-of-11 shots (0-for-6 from deep) for 10 points, one rebound and three assists in 30 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Augustin has been rolling lately so owners should let this one slide, but in the fantasy playoffs folks might want to have a shorter rope than usual as his value can really plummet when he's not hitting his threes. We're waiting for another dud before signing off on a drop in most formats.

Thu Mar 13 201422:17D.J. Augustin sores 13 points w/ eight dimes
D.J. Augustin kept his momentum going off the bench on Thursday vs. the Rockets with 13 points, one rebound, eight assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.
His production from deep is carrying his overall fantasy value with 2.2 per game since the All-Star break. Augustin is still seeing 25 minutes per game off the bench and scoring in the teens somewhat consistently makes him a must-own player in standard formats.

Tue Mar 11 201423:36D.J. Augustin scores 24 points in defeat
D.J. Augustin led a futile charge late in Tuesday's loss to the Spurs, scoring 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter.
He thoroughly outplayed Kirk Hinrich (three points, three assists) and finished 7-of-10 from the field and 8-of-9 from the FT line, with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, four assists and two turnovers. Augustin is now averaging 20.2 points and 2.4 threes over the Bulls' past six games despite his backup role. Throw in stellar percentages from the field and the FT line, and he belongs in all fantasy lineups until further notice.

Fri Mar 7 201423:08Augustin scores 14 points off the bench
D.J. Augustin hit 5-of-14 shots off the bench on Friday, finishing with 14 points, three assists and one 3-pointer.
Augustin will need to do better than this on most nights to return solid late-round value but he played 30 minutes and it's worth noting that the Bulls scored just 77 points as a team. This wouldn't be the game that we base our decision to drop him after games of 23 and 26 points within the last week. That said, he's just a borderline value in 12-team leagues over a two-week sample. Kirk Hinrich (nine points, four rebounds, one three, 33 minutes) fits the same profile but without the upside.
