Fri Mar 22 201323:55Thomas Robinson has nice night off bench
Thomas Robinson had 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Friday's blowout win over the Cavs.
It's a glimpse of Robinson's potential, but don't overreact to this line. The Rockets rested their starters for the entire fourth quarter, which allowed T-Rob to log 22 minutes. In the nine games prior to this, he was averaging just 13.8 minutes a night.

Sun Mar 10 201300:12T-Rob, Motiejunas quiet again on Saturday
Thomas Robinson was scoreless in eight minutes off the Rockets' bench on Saturday, while starting PF Donatas Motiejunas had eight points and three rebounds in 17 minutes.
They were facing a Suns team without Marcin Gortat (foot) and Jermaine O'Neal (personal), which led to more small lineups, but this is still a situation to avoid for fantasy owners.

Sat Mar 9 201303:57Robinson, Motie bystanders on Friday
Thomas Robinson and Donatas Motiejunas combined to play just 22 minutes on Friday.
T-Rob had just three rebounds, two steals and three missed field goal attempts (one a badly botched layup), and Motie scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting with one three and that's about it. Neither are worth owning in standard formats until they show a sign of life.

Sun Mar 3 201323:23Thomas Robinson plays best game w/ Rox
Thomas Robinson scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and stole the ball three times on Sunday, playing 18 minutes off the bench in his best game as a Rocket.
Donatas Motiejunas seems to be settling in as the starting PF, which limits Robinson's upside, but he may still have value in deeper formats. We wouldn't recommend picking him up again unless he can duplicate this performance in a competitive game, as tonight's lopsided score skewed both team's rotations.

Thu Feb 28 201308:40Robinson getting extra teaching lessons
Thomas Robinson is getting extra attention in practice, working on low-post drills daily with Kevin McHale.
Robinson going to the Rockets is going to do a lot for his career, and getting daily lessons from McHale is a great way to start his time in Houston. "It's only been three days," he said. "It's been good. It's going to take time. I know it's a process. He's teaching me the ropes now so when I am by myself, when I do come in the gym extra, I know what to work on." Right now, Donatas Motiejunas appears locked in as the starting power forward.

Thu Feb 28 201301:09Thomas Robinson plays 8 minutes in debut
Thomas Robinson made his Rockets' debut on Wednesday and hit his only shot, finishing with two points, one rebound and one assist in just eight minutes.
He also had three fouls, while starter Donatas Motiejunas played very well, and Carlos Delfino got 31 minutes off the bench. There just doesn't appear to be enough time for Robinson to make a huge dent in Houston, and the fact D-Mo had 13 points, seven boards, five assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in 26 minutes leads us to believe that he is a better player to own than T-Rob. Especially since he already knows Kevin McHale and the Rockets system. We were quick to rush to T-Rob as a hot pickup when the trade went down, but once McHale decided to roll with Motiejunas, all bets were off. Robinson could easily be a great player for the Rockets at some point down the line, but as of now, Motiejunas looks like the guy to own.

Sat Feb 23 201312:04New Rockets unlikely to play before practice
Rockets coach Kevin McHale said he doesn't expect Thomas Robinson and Francisco Garcia to play until they practice with the team next week.
The Rockets have three days off after Saturday night's game against the Wizards, so we'd expect both players to be active and ready to play by Wednesday. Carlos Delfino will likely start at PF again on Saturday.

Fri Feb 22 201311:43Robinson, Garcia not expected to play Friday
New Rockets Thomas Robinson and Francisco Garcia are unlikely to play on Friday.
Neither player is cleared to play yet and have to wait for physicals in Sacramento to be completed, so we don't expect either will make his Rockets debut on Friday. It's unclear what the starting lineup will be, but the Rockets may have to go small and or get creative at power forward.

Thu Feb 21 201316:16GM Morey raves about new PF Thomas Robinson
Rockets GM Daryl Morey had high praise for newly acquired PF Thomas Robinson.
There's no doubt that Robinson is going to quickly start and play a major role on the Rockets. They've traded away their starting power forward (Patrick Patterson) and his backup (Marcus Morris). "For us, it was obviously for Thomas Robinson," Morey said. "He is a very high-upside guy, plays with high energy, runs the floor, can rebound. He's athletic. He is a guy that has potential to grow into a top-level player." Robinson is worth a speculative add while we see if his offensive game can improve with a real role. He was playing just 15.9 minutes in Sacramento, but projects for something around 26-29 in Houston.

Thu Feb 21 201311:03Rockets not interested in moving Robinson
The Rockets have no intention of trading Thomas Robinson, according to beat writer Jonathan Feigen.
Robinson was brought in to be a useful piece on a young Rockets team, and although some had speculated the team could flip the rookie in a Josh Smith trade, that looks to be very, very unlikely.

Thu Feb 21 201300:29Kings-Rockets six-player deal official
Sacramento Kings acquired forward Patrick Patterson, center Cole Aldrich, guard Toney Douglas and cash considerations from Houston Rockets in exchange for forwards Francisco Garcia, Thomas Robinson and Tyler Honeycutt.
We already broke down the trade repercussions under each involved player, but Robinson appears to be the biggest winner here, although he's not guaranteed to start at PF just yet. Donatas Motiejunas, Greg Smith and Carlos Delfino should all get a boost in playing time, but T-Rob still looks like a decent add based on his potential. Just keep in mind the Rockets play just three games per week for next five in a row, and six of the next seven, which is bad news is games played matter in your league.

Wed Jan 30 201321:55Thomas Robinson scores 11 with four boards
Thomas Robinson played 21 minutes and scored 11 points with four rebounds, one assist and one steal on 4-of-5 shooting against the Celtics on Wednesday.
He's starting to come around as we reach the midpoint of the season. In his last five games, T-Rob averaged 9.2 points, 7.0 boards, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks in 23.0 minutes. He's worth a look in deeper leagues and Jason Thompson (nine points and three boards in 21 minutes) owners in standard leagues might want to start looking elsewhere.

Mon Jan 28 201322:28Robinson scores nine points on Monday
Thomas Robinson scored nine points on 4-of-10 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks in 28 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Robinson has excellent physical attributes but he can't shoot from any range and his decision-making is atrocious. We can't even say with real certainty that Jason Thompson (two points, five boards, 14 minutes) is struggling, because he has simply had the rug pulled out from underneath him by scatterbrained Keith Smart. Robinson appears to be on top right now, but this is a situation to avoid.

Sun Jan 27 201300:24Thomas Robinson double-doubles in loss
Thomas Robinson had 10 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes in Saturday's ugly loss.
He hit just 3-of-7 shots and 4-of-10 free throws, and this game was a blowout, meaning he saw some garbage time. He's coming on and playing pretty well for the Kings though, and is still worth a look in deeper leagues, especially with Jason Thompson struggling so much right now.

Thu Jan 24 201301:32Thomas Robinson double-doubles vs. PHX
Thomas Robinson had a career-high 14 boards to go with 12 points and one steal in 26 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.
He matched his season high in scoring and shot 6-of-9 from the field in his best game as a pro. Robinson failed to score more than two points in any of his previous four games, so there's no reason to bend over backwards to grab him in most leagues. Jason Thompson had another rough outing with four points and three rebounds, so he's losing a lot of his luster in standard leagues.
