Dedmon (ankle) will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Nuggets, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Dedmon has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle, and his status Sunday appears to rest on how he feels in practice or warm-ups. Despite some injuries, the Magic have plenty of depth up front, so even if Dedmon does return, he likely will not see enough playing time to warrant fantasy use.

Dedmon will not play Friday against Portland, Fox Sports Florida's Dante Marchitelli reports.

Dedmon, who also missed Wednesday's game, will join Willie Green, Tobias Harris, Evan Fournier and Devyn Marble on Orlando's inactive list, leaving the Magic with only 10 players Friday night.

Dedmon played 23 minutes Tuesday, finishing with only two points and seven rebounds to go with a pair of blocks. The ankle injury is not considered serious, but with the Magic playing back-to-back games, he could sit out Wednesday. If that's the case, Channing Frye would likely slot back into the starting five.

Dedmon put up two points, four rebounds, and two blocks against the Bucks on Wednesday in 20 minutes as a starter.

Dedmon has won the starting job over Channing Frye for the time being but it's important to note that Frye actually saw more time on the court with 28 minutes of action against the Bucks. If this trend continues, Frye will be the more interesting option moving forward despite Dedmon's accolade of being the starting power forward.

Dedmon will remain in the lineup up front, while Channing Frye, who started two games with Vucevic out, will head back to the bench. In three games since entering the starting five, Dedmon has averaged 8.3 points and 10.7 rebounds while shooting 83 percent from the floor (9-12 FG). He posted 16 boards against the Celtics on Sunday, but Vucevic's presence make a similar performance rather unlikely.

Dedmon provided career-highs of 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-6 FT) and 16 rebounds along with two blocks in 28 minutes Sunday against the Celtics.

Dedmon was inserted into the starting lineup three games ago, supplanting Channing Frye. Since coach James Borrego replaced Jacque Vaughn, Dedmon leads the team with 1.3 blocks in 18.4 minutes per game and a defensive rating of 91.5. He'll likely retain his starting spot when Nikola Vucevic (ankle) returns, but his minutes have been limited due to 6.3 fouls per 36 minutes. The Magic play four games each of the next two weeks, making Dedmon an intriguing option.

Dedmon doesn't pack the same punch offensively as Frye, but he's a superior defender, and the Orlando defense is roughly 19 points per 100 possessions better with Dedmon on the floor. It's unclear how the move will affect Frye's minutes, which have declined, on the whole, over the past month.

Dedmon has assumed a stable role since James Borrego inherited head coaching responsibility, averaging 1.4 blocks in 16.5 minutes per game over the past eight contests.

Dedmon was the victim of many Jacque Vaughn DNP-CDs. With focus shifting to the defensive end, Dedmon has absorbed almost all of Kyle O'Quinn's playing time. Nevertheless, Dedmon still doesn't receive enough minutes to be relevant in standard leagues.

Dedmon posted a double-double in 30 minutes Monday against the Grizzlies as he scored 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-6 FT) to go along with 10 rebounds and one block.

Dedmon started the second half in place of Channing Frye and was able to come away with his first double-double of the season. Frye might have just had a bad matchup against the physical Memphis front line, so keep an eye on Dedmon's minutes over the next game or two as this might have just been a fluke.

Dedmon sat out 10 of the previous 31 games, gaining increased playing time only when Nikola Vucevic sat out with an injury. Now Dedmon is pilfering minutes from Kyle O'Quinn as he mostly plays next to Channing Frye in the crowded backcourt. His fantasy value is highly concentrated in the blocks category, so this recent minutes bump is something to keep an eye on if it continues to trend in the positive direction.

Dedmon scored five points (2-2 FG, 0-0 3Pt, 1-2 FT) with eight rebounds, an assist and four blocks in 22 minutes of action on Saturday against the Kings.

Dedmon's numbers don't jump out at you, but with the absence of Nikola Vucevic he has had the opportunity to show some of his talents in the few minutes he has been given.

Dedmon scored nine points (4-7 FG, 1-2 FT) with eight rebounds and a steal in 25 minutes off the bench Wednesday.

Kyle O'Quinn got ejected following a Flagrant 2 call after playing just seven minutes, so Magic coach Jacque Vaughn had little choice but to give Dedmon some extra run. He posted decent numbers, but even in a deep league you'll want to see whether he earned some of Vaughn's trust with his performance before picking him up.

Dedmon has played sparse minutes as the primary backup center while Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) remains sidelined.

Even in limited run, Dedmon is second on the team with six blocks in five games. His minutes will stay capped as long a Nikola Vucevic and Channing Frye are healthy.

Dedmon scored a team-high 23 points (10-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), grabbed eight rebounds, recorded two steals, dished one assist and blocked one shot in 37 minutes during Saturday's preseason loss.

On a healthy squad, he'll struggle to find minutes behind Nikola Vucevic, Kyle O'Quinn, and Channing Frye.

Dewayne Dedmon started at center against the Wolves on Saturday, putting up two points and six blocks in 14 minutes.

The Magic seem to have had it with Andrew Nicholson in the starting lineup, so they gave Dedmon a shot. He's a decent shot blocker, but having almost zero offensive game makes him too risky of a pickup in almost any format. By the way, Nicholson did not score in 20 minutes off the bench.
