Tue Jan 20 201512:20Anderson assigned to Austin Spurs of D-League on Tuesday
Anderson was assigned to the Austin Spurs of the D-League on Tuesday, Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Injuries allowed Anderson to log consistent minutes during the month of December, but he's returned to a deep bench role of late, playing just eight total minutes over the Spurs' last seven games. In one D-League appearance this season, Anderson scored 18 points to go with 11 rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes.

Anderson (ankle) played just three minutes Friday in a win over the Suns, despite being active for the game, and didn't score a single point.
Anderson missed just one game with his most recent injury, and isn't much more than a minor role player for the Spurs when others are healthy. In 15 games off the bench this season, Anderson is shooting just 30 percent from the floor and averages 2.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists.

Anderson (ankle) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Suns, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Anderson missed Tuesday's game against the Pistons with a minor ankle sprain but seems to be on track to play Friday barring some kind of setback. The rookie is currently averaging 14.3 minutes on the court this season and still has some developing to do before he's considered a viable option in standard formats.
Tue Jan 6 201514:29Anderson (ankle) will not play Tuesday against Detroit
Anderson (ankle) will not play Tuesday against Detroit, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Anderson sprained the ankle Saturday against Washington and will sit out Tuesday in an effort to gain extra rest with the Spurs off until Friday. The rookie has proven to produce across several categories this season but hasn't received consistent minutes on a game-to-game basis.

Anderson collected a Coach's Decision-DNP Sunday, one game after moving back into the starting lineup.
Anderson was getting a lot of extra minutes lately with the Spurs trying to navigate all of their injuries, but with most of their players available Sunday, Anderson became an afterthought. He's an intriguing prospect in dynasty leagues, but Anderson is unlikely to play enough minutes this season to have consistent value in standard leagues.
Sat Dec 27 201405:28Anderson returned to starting lineup against Pelicans Friday
Anderson returned to the starting lineup against the Pelicans Friday. He scored zero points (0-4 FG) and added three rebounds and one assist in nine minutes.
Anderson struggled, and played very little as result. Anderson's fantasy value is almost nonexistent unless he plays significantly more than nine minutes. Until he turns his play around, he can be safely ignored in almost all formats.
Fri Dec 26 201419:29Anderson will move back into starting lineup against Pelicans
Anderson will move back into the starting lineup against the Pelicans, the San Antonio-Express News reports.
Anderson has moved in and out of the starting lineup since the Kawhi Leonard (hand) has been sidelined. The rookie will likely see significant minutes on the court, although he's still a limited option in most formats.

Anderson moved back to a bench role Thursday after making several starts in place of the injured Kawhi Leonard (hand). Marco Belinelli replaced Anderson in the starting lineup.
Anderson finished with zero points in eight minutes off the bench Thursday. In the six games he's started this season, Anderson has averaged 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 0.5 three-pointers in 22 minutes per game. He's a versatile player, but in the Spurs' system, Anderson is unlikely to be relied upon for much production for at least the first couple years of his career.
Thu Dec 25 201413:04Anderson will be replaced in starting lineup by Marco Belinelli ...
Anderson will be replaced in the starting lineup by Marco Belinelli for Thursday's game against the Thunder, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Anderson had enjoyed a multi-game run in the starting lineup with Kawhi Leonard (hand) unavailable, but it appears coach Gregg Popovich has grown weary of his lack of production during that time. After exceeding 30 minutes of playing time in each of the previous two contests, Anderson saw just 10 minutes of action Monday against the Clippers, with Popovich leaning more heavily on Belinelli throughout the game. Expect that trend to continue now that Belinelli has been thrust back into a starting role, effectively taking Anderson off the fantasy radar for now.

Anderson scored only two points (1-7 FG, 0-1 FT) in 34 minutes of action, as the Spurs lost to the Trail Blazers in triple overtime.
Anderson has filled in for Kawhi Leonard (hand) for the past three games, and was effective in his first start. Since then, Anderson has scored just five combined points in his past two games. He did pick up nine rebounds Friday, but shouldn't be used in most leagues.

Anderson made his second-career start against the Lakers on Friday but only manged to contribute six points, four rebounds, and three assists in 21 minutes.
Anderson has filled in for Kawhi Leonard (hand) over the last two games, although the rookie naturally pales in comparison to the production of Leonard. The 21-year-old will move back to the bench when Leonard returns from injury and he should be expected to play closer to the 13.6 minutes that he's averaging this season.

Anderson will get another start at small forward Friday against the Lakers, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express News reports.
Kawhi Leonard is still out with a hand injury, and is having a really hard time gripping and dribbling a basketball, so he may be out for a couple more games. Anderson can contribute across all categories, while never truly excelling in any on department. He has a point forward mentality, so there will be more assists than owners typically expect from wing players.

Anderson made his first-career start against the Knicks on Wednesday and was able to contribute nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals during 23 minutes on the court.

Sun Nov 23 201413:19Anderson assigned to D-league Steve Popper of The Record reports
Anderson has been assigned to the D-league Steve Popper of The Record reports.
Anderson has had a few games where he got significant playing time, but for the most part he has been a reserve while only receiving single digit minutes. He is a very talented and raw young player, so the Spurs likely want to give Anderson more playing time in the D-league to continue to develop his skills.

Anderson played 31 minutes off the bench while Manu Ginobili rested, and scored just four points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT).
Anderson won't see this volume of work regularly, and wasn't even very effective from the floor when he was in the game. However, he did pull down eight boards and tacked on four assists and two steals.
