Thu Apr 6 202318:40Jalen Brunson To Remain Out On Friday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (hand) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Knicks have locked up the fifth seed, so there is no reason for them to push Brunson out there at less than 100 percent. That being said, fantasy managers should expect Brunson to sit for the rest of the regular season. His absence should allow Immanuel Quickley to move into the starting five, which will make him a strong streaming option.

Thu Apr 6 202310:48Time To Hang It Up: Five NBA Players That Should Retire After The Season
Basketball is a fast-paced game. While the court's dimensions are smaller than baseball and football fields, there is no room to relax because players must exert effort on offense and defense. NBA's Advanced Stats reveal that LaMelo Ball trumps other ballers in the distance covered, averaging 2.77 miles per game. Fred VanVleet is not far behind at 2.76.Therefore, basketball players must be in good condition to render significant minutes. Conversely, injuries are also a dime a dozen because of the extensive regular season. Failing to stay in shape could mean reduced playing time or an abrupt end to their career. But at some point, Father Time wins, no matter how much a player wants to delay the inevitable. These players have rendered extensive NBA careers but are far from the peak of their capabilities. Sadly, retirement after the 2022-23 season is a strong possibility because they are not steady contributors anymore or hardly step into the court. However, their younger teammates should pick their brains and learn from their limitless wisdom.

Thaddeus Young

Young won the NBA Hustle Award during the 2020-21 season thanks to his accumulated hustle stats like taking screens and diving for loose balls. But that recognition is a nice consolation for a man who nearly averaged a double-double (15.1 points, nine rebounds) for the 2015-16 season with the Brooklyn Nets.https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1612227070108516355The 16-year veteran has been touted as a do-it-all player on both ends. Unfortunately, his production has significantly dropped in his second season with the Toronto Raptors. He is averaging only 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game through March 11. He hasn't played since, even if he is on the active roster, because of ... [More]
Wed Apr 5 202314:08Jalen Brunson Won't Play Wednesday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (hand) will sit out Wednesday's contest against Indiana. The 26-year-old continues to deal with a right hand injury and will take a night off after playing in the previous three games. The injury didn't keep Brunson from erupting for a career-high 48 points a couple of games ago, but the Knicks clearly need him as healthy as possible for the playoffs. With Julius Randle (ankle) also out and RJ Barrett (illness) questionable for Wednesday's action, Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart look to be busy men on the offensive front.

Sat Apr 1 202311:19Jalen Brunson Has A Career Night With 48 Points
New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson exploded for 33 first-half points and had a career-high 48 points in the end as the team beat Cleveland 130-116 Friday. With Julius Randle (ankle) out of the picture, Brunson took over the offense and almost pulled off a 50-point double-double, adding nine assists to his points with four rebounds in 38 minutes. The former Maverick hit 7-for-12 from deep and 18-for-32 overall from the field. Randle is done for the regular season, so we could see Brunson make a very special run to close out the campaign.

Tue Mar 28 202323:37Jalen Brunson Still Dealing With Hand Issue
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (hand) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Miami Heat. The 26-year-old has missed the last two games because of a sprained right hand. Fortunately, the Knicks are in a comfortable spot heading into the postseason, so Brunson may be sidelined again. If that's the case, Immanuel Quickley, who erupted for 40 points against the Rockets on Monday, will be a must-start DFS option. The same can be said for Julius Randle, who will receive more scoring opportunities if Brunson isn't on the floor.

New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (hand) is officially questionable against the Houston Rockets on Monday. Brunson sat out last game with a sprained right hand, but has had four days of rest to recover. Immanuel Quickley recorded 25 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block in the spot start and would presumably start again if Brunson is ruled out.

Thu Mar 23 202318:14Jalen Brunson Uncertain For Thursday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (hand) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Orlando Magic. He already missed three games before he was able to return and play in three games. Now, Brunson is in danger of missing more time due to a sprained right hand. His absence would mean that Immanuel Quickley would likely slide into the starting five. He has been productive whenever he's plugged into the starting five. That being said, fantasy managers should check back closer to game time for an update on Brunson.

Sat Mar 11 202318:25Jalen Brunson Considered Day-To-Day
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) underwent an X-ray on his left foot, which came back negative, according to Tom Thibodeau. Brunson exited early on Thursday after missing each of the last two games due to a foot issue. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so Brunson is only dealing with a bruise. The organization is considering Brunson day-to-day, so he shouldn't miss too much more time. Immanuel Quickley should continue to have excellent streaming value while Brunson is on the sideline.

Fri Mar 10 202323:11Jalen Brunson Won't Play On Saturday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) won't suit up on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 26-year-old missed two games heading into Thursday's loss to the Sacramento Kings because of left foot soreness. While he managed to play in that one, he lasted only 19 minutes before re-aggravating the injury. The Knicks will also meet the Lakers on Sunday, the second of a back-to-back. However, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if Brunson isn't available for that one, either. If so, Immanuel Quickley, who has averaged 19 points in 12 starts this year, should fill the void in the lineup.

Thu Mar 9 202323:37Jalen Brunson Won't Return On Thursday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) won't return to Thursday's meeting with the Sacramento Kings. The 26-year-old logged 19 minutes in this one, all in the first half, scoring 19 points. However, he experienced pain in his left foot, the same issue that caused him to miss the last two games. New York will play the Lakers on Saturday. But with the Knicks looking to make a deep postseason push, Brunson could miss more time moving ahead. If that's the case, Immanuel Quickley should return to the starting lineup. Quickley has averaged nearly 19 points in 12 starts this season, so he warrants attention from those in need of a replacement.

Thu Mar 9 202321:26Jalen Brunson Will Play On Thursday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) is officially available for Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings. That is great news after Brunson missed the last two games due to left foot soreness. He should immediately resume his role in the starting five, which will shift Immanuel Quickley to the bench. Quickley should still have value as the sixth-man, but won't be nearly as productive as he was when Brunson was out. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups and make sure Brunson is in there.

Brunson was considered questionable for both those contests before ultimately being ruled out. In his absence, Immanuel Quickley has been asked to step up and move into the starting five. He was already someone who should be rostered before Brunson's injury, but now Quickley is a must-have player in most formats.

Tue Mar 7 202317:55Jalen Brunson Out Tuesday
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) will miss Tuesday's game versus the Charlotte Hornets. Brunson will miss his second straight game as he deals with soreness in his left foot, but the Knicks are optimistic with his recovery. Brunson will be joining the upcoming road trip and should be nearing a return. In the meantime, Immanuel Quickley should continue to start in Brunson's absence and is an excellent fantasy option when given opportunity.

Mon Mar 6 202322:04Jalen Brunson Officially Questionable Versus Charlotte
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (foot) is questionable to play versus the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. Brunson missed Sunday's game and watched Immanuel Quickley have a career night with 38 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, five threes, four steals and two blocks in 55 minutes. Quickley's numbers were inflated due to the double overtime game, but should be on rosters as long as Brunson is hobbled.

Sun Feb 12 202308:41Jalen Brunson Leads The Way For Knicks With 38 Points
New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson kept his wonderful campaign going with a game-high 38 points on 11-for-22 shooting Saturday against Utah. Julius Randle added 31 points, and the Knicks finally managed to get to .500 at home with a 126-120 victory. Brunson netted only two times from deep but made major damage at the foul line with a 14-for-15 effort. He also handed out five assists, pulled down three boards and logged one steal in 39 minutes of action. The 26-year-old finished off last month with a bang when he had 37 points against the Lakers, and Brunson has so far averaged 31.0 points in February with 6.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds. He's in great form right now and will try to keep it up in a matchup versus the Nets, who watched Brunson go for 26 points against them in the last head-to-head meeting.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
