Feldman (knee) will make a rehab start Sunday with Double-A Corpus Christi, the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich reports.
He will need to make at least two rehab starts before he can rejoin the Astros, so he will probably not be back in the big leagues until after the All-Star break. Dan Straily would seem to be the obvious candidate for Feldman to replace when he is ready. Prior to the knee injury the 32-year-old lefty had a 4.80 ERA and just 37 strikeouts in 60 innings, so it's not even a given that Feldman will be locked into a rotation spot the rest of the way if he can't turn his season around.

Fri May 29 201515:20Scott Feldman: To DL With Torn Meniscus
Feldman was placed on the 15-day DL Friday after undergoing surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus and is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.
While Michael Feliz was called up as a corresponding move, it won't be to take Feldman's spot in the rotation. Instead, Brett Oberholtzer figures to be a candidate to slot into the rotation while Feldman is out, or the Astros could opt to promote Vincent Velasquez from Double-A to step into the rotation.

The Houston Astros placed pitcher Scott Feldman on the 15-day disabled list Friday after he had surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus, according to MLB.com. There is no word on exactly when Feldman suffered the injury, but general manager Jeff Luhnow said he could be out as long as two months while recovering from the procedure. “He’s expected to miss four to six weeks,” Luhnow said. “He may be back before the All-Star break. It’s obviously a blow because he was pitching well for us.” Feldman, who had a 4.80 earned-run average in 10 starts this season, will be replaced on the active roster by Double-A Corpus Christi call-up Michael Feliz, while Brett Oberholtzer is the likely option to fill his spot in the starting rotation. The Astros are in first place in the AL West this season with a 30-18 record.

Feldman limited the Orioles to one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts over six innings Tuesday to earn his fourth victory of the season.
Despite walking three in the contest, Feldman (4-4) only holds a 2.10 BB/9 this season, which would qualify as a career-best mark in a season for him. The veteran right-hander will face Baltimore again for his next start Monday, this time at Minute Maid Park where he holds a 5.50 ERA this season.

Feldman gave up 10 hits and five runs (four earned) in six innings during Thursday's loss to Detroit. He struck out two and walked one.
Feldman made it through three scoreless innings to start, but then the wheels came off after a two-run homer by Nick Castellanos in the fourth. He gave up two more in the fifth and another in the sixth before his day came to an end. Feldman had actually turned in consecutive quality starts coming into Thursday, but his season numbers don't play in most fantasy formats and he retains fantasy utility of any sort only in AL-only formats.

Feldman picked up the win Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings, striking out six.
He's posted a quality start in three of his four starts this season, but the fourth was ugly enough to inflate his ERA to 4.81. Feldman doesn't offer much upside in strikeouts, limiting his fantasy value, but he's pitched better than his bloated ERA would indicate.

Wed Mar 18 201516:18Astros manager A.J
Astros manager A.J. Hinch announced Wednesday that Feldman will start the second game of the season against the Indians on April 8, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports.
"Feldman's lined up to pitch right behind Keuchel, which is good," Hinch said. "I caution lining it too perfectly too early just because a lot of things can happen, but Keuchel one, Feldman two is a good lineup." The veteran right-hander has a 7.20 ERA through five spring innings thus far.

When asked about starting Opening Day again, the veteran right-hander said, "I think the thing that matters to me is starting a game in the postseason. I think that would be awesome, but as far as Opening Day, I think we've got a bunch of guys that had good years last year and that's really just in the hands of A.J. (Hinch) and the staff." Feldman is scheduled to make his next spring appearance Friday against the Nationals.
