Chris Nelson stole home off Nick Masset in the bottom of the eighth to break a tie and help the Rockies edge the Reds 6-5 on Thursday.
Troy Tulowitzki previously tied the game in the inning with a solo homer, but it was Nelson's first career steal that will be remembered. The infielder, who has gone 4-for-7 in two stints with the Rockies this season, entered the game as a pinch-runner in place of Jason Giambi. The decisive play was a straight steal of home with no play at the plate. The Rockies have now won seven straight to improve to 76-64.
