Gonzalez coughed up eight hits and three earned runs in 5.2 innings against Boston on Sunday.
Gonzalez did manage to whiff seven batters, but it wasn't the best of outings for the right-hander, who was up to 107 pitches before getting pulled. Gonzalez will close out his regular season Saturday in Toronto.

Gonzalez allowed three runs on three hits and three walks with one strikeout while taking the loss Saturday against the Yankees.
Gonzalez fell to 9-8 on the season. He is not a strikeout-heavy pitcher, so his lone strikeout is not much of a surprise. Despite that, Gonzalez now has six quality starts in a row.

Gonzalez won Monday against the Red Sox as he allowed six hits and three walks to go along with four strikeouts in 6.1 scoreless innings.

Gonzalez tossed his first career shutout Wednesday against the Reds, scattering four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.
The Reds have not hit much in quite some time and Gonzalez got to pitch against them while they are down. Nonetheless, it is a highlight for Gonzalez, who has been serviceable again this year. He only has eight wins, but Gonzalez was briefly sent to the minors during the All-Star break and he had a stint on the DL. There is even a chance Gonzalez is in the discussion for the playoff rotation.

Gonzalez was on his game Friday night, allowing just one run on four hits, walking one and striking out six over seven innings of a 9-1 win against Minnesota.
Gonzalez (7-7, 3.61 ERA) was put back in the rotation when the Orioles decided to move Ubaldo Jimenez to the bullpen and he continues to justify that decision. He's not flashy, but he keeps the O's in games and they have the offense to turn that into wins. He'll take on the Reds in Camden Yards next time out.

Gonzalez surrendered six hits and two earned runs in 6.1 innings, but ultimately picked up the losing decision against the Cubs on Sunday.
Gonzalez was recalled from Double-A Bowie for Sunday's start, this coming after the Orioles decided to bump Ubaldo Jimenez from the rotation. Gonzalez was efficient in his return, needing 85 pitches to get through 6.1 innings, and he struck out three batters without allowing a walk. His next start will fall on Friday at home against Minnesota.
Sun Aug 24 201412:25Gonzalez recalled from Double-A Bowie on Sunday
Gonzalez was recalled from Double-A Bowie on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
The Orioles made the tough decision to drop Ubaldo Jimenez and his massive contract from the rotation a few days ago, paving the way for Gonzalez to rejoin the big club. On merit alone, Gonzalez certainly deserves the appointment over Jimenez. He's gone 6-6 with a 3.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 80 strikeouts over 113.2 innings with the Orioles, numbers that aren't eye-popping, but that are perfectly acceptable for a No. 5 starter. He'll take the ball Sunday against the Cubs in his return to the Orioles.
Tue Aug 19 201418:49Gonzalez will return to Orioles' rotation Sunday against Cubs
Gonzalez will return to the Orioles' rotation Sunday against the Cubs, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
The team has seemingly come to regret the decision to bump Gonzalez from the rotation in favor of Ubaldo Jimenez, as the team will turn back to Gonzalez on Sunday. Jimenez will be moved to the bullpen. Gonzalez has a 3.80 ERA and 1.41 WHIP for the season but showed significant improvement in July, with a 1.82 ERA in four outings.

Gonzalez will throw a 75-pitch simulated game Monday with Double-A Bowie and then rejoin the big league club.
The team hasn't revealed their immediate plans with Gonzalez, but he could very well replace Ubaldo Jimenez in the near future.
Fri Aug 15 201414:54Gonzalez sent to Double-A Bowie on Friday
Gonzalez was sent to Double-A Bowie on Friday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Gonzalez is set to rejoin the Orioles on Aug. 19 according to an earlier report. The reason for his move to Double-A is unclear, but doesn't appear to have an effect on his potential start.

Gonzalez will make one appearance in Triple-A Norfolk before ultimately rejoining the Orioles on Aug. 19 in Chicago, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday as he seems to be in limbo between the Orioles' rotation and Triple-A. After his appearance with Norfolk on either the 12th or 13th, he'll have an opportunity to impress in Chicago where he'll likely get the starting nod on the 19th.
Sat Aug 9 201415:55Gonzalez optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday
Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Gonzalez appears to be the odd man out of the rotation with Ubaldo Jimenez back from an ankle injury. It's unclear if this will be the long-term decision for the Orioles, but Gonzalez will definitely be the top option to return to the rotation if there is an injury.

Gonzalez tossed six strong innings to earn the win at Toronto on Thursday, allowing just four hits and one run. He issued a couple of walks and struck out four.
The only damage Gonzalez allowed came on a solo home run by Anthony Gose in the fifth inning. Gonzalez, who was strong in four July starts, rebounded from his last outing when he gave up four runs in just five innings. Overall, the 30-year old righty has performed like he has in the past, which means you can expect an ERA close to 4.00, with a below average strikeout rate. On the bright side, he does pitch for a contending team, and is no danger of losing his spot in the starting rotation. In his next start, he'll take on the Yankees at home.

Gonzalez allowed four runs on seven hits with one strikeout in five innings against the Mariners Saturday.
Gonzalez allowed all four runs on home runs to Dustin Ackley and Robinson Cano. He has pitched to contact a lot over the last two games, with just two strikeouts and three walks in 11 innings. The problem is Gonzalez has allowed 29 fly balls and 16 ground balls in the same period, so he appears bound to give up home runs.
Sun Jul 27 201420:36Gonzalez holds M's to one run in no-decision
Miguel Gonzalez allowed one run on eight hits over six innings but took a no-decision against the Mariners on Sunday.
Gonzalez had runners on base in every inning but the fifth, but he managed to hold the Mariners off the scoreboard for most of the afternoon. The right-hander has turned in four straight strong starts this month, allowing no more than two runs in any of his four turns, but he's got just one win over that span to show for it. He'll take a 5-5 record and 3.77 ERA into a rematch with the Mariners on Saturday.

Wed Jul 23 201402:14Gonzalez pitches into 8th, picks up fifth win
Miguel Gonzalez allowed just three hits and two runs in seven and two-thirds innings against the Angels on Tuesday.
While Gonzalez did walk four, he was able to keep the Angels off the board until the eighth inning, when Mike Trout launched a two-run homer. Gonzalez has made a habit of going deep into games as of late. He'd gone eight innings in each of his last two starts. This effort dropped his ERA to 3.91. If he's able to continue this recent trend, he's somebody to keep an eye on in deep AL-only leagues. Next time out he'll face the Mariners.

Fri Jul 11 201422:23Miguel Gonzalez strong in no-decision Friday
Miguel Gonzalez delivered a strong performance in Friday's no-decision against the Yankees, surrendering just two runs on six hits over eight frames.
Gonzalez racked up five strikeouts on the night without issuing a walk. The only damage against him came on a pair of solo home runs off the bats of Brian Roberts and Kelly Johnson. He finishes the first half of the season with a 4-5 record, 4.04 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 69/32 K/BB ratio over 89 innings. While he's capable of turning in strong starts on occasion, he's best served as a matchup play only in mixed leagues.
