RHP Matt Wisler pitched 6 2/3 innings to beat Philadelphia on Friday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven and walking two. Wisler allowed two baserunners in the third and sixth, but managed to avoid trouble after giving up a run in the first, when he said he was "throwing across (his) body" and leaving the ball up in the strike zone. "He got through that and then he got locked in," interim manager Brian Snitker said. "He was flowing. I love the fact he got things going and clicking. We needed someone to get deep in the game like that." Wisler became the first Braves pitcher to record multiple victories this season. Before Friday, Atlanta had tied a major league record by having their first 10 victories recorded by 10 different pitchers. "I feel good," Wisler said. "My stuff feels good. I have a long way to go. I'll continue the process and go to work every day."

RHP Matt Wisler will try to build on perhaps the best start of his career when he starts Tuesday against Philadelphia. In his last outing, he pitched eight shutout innings and allowed only one hit against the Mets, outpitching RHP Matt Harvey for the win. Wisler has made only one career start against the Phillies, which he lost after allowing seven runs in 4 2/3 innings on Aug. 1, 2015.

RHP Matt Wisler said his location was not sharp and he was effectively wild, but it was good enough Tuesday when he allowed a fifth-inning single to SS Asdrbual Cabrera over eight scoreless innings. Wisler made his 24th start Tuesday, and in the four he has made against the Mets, he is 3-1 with a 1.55 ERA.

RHP Matt Wisler will look to earn his first win of the season Tuesday night, when he takes the mound for the Braves in the middle game of a three-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Wisler took the loss in his most recent start April 26, when he gave up five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings as the Braves fell to the Boston Red Sox, 11-4. It was the shortest start of the season for Wisler, who lasted at least six innings in his first three starts. Wisler is 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA in three career starts against the Mets.

RHP Matt Wisler allowed just a first-inning unearned run and four hits over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday. He threw a career-high 115 pitches while striking out six and walking only one. Wisler has a 2.89 ERA in 11 home games. He was starting for the first time since April 13, but he got a save with an emergency relief appearance at Miami last Sunday.

RHP Matt Wisler was scheduled start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. But after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning on Sunday for his first career save, his start may be pushed back for a day or two. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said after Sundays' 6-5 win over Miami that he was still considering his options. If it is Wisler, at least there's this: He is 1-0 in his only career appearance against the Dodgers, beating them last year on July 20 in Atlanta. The Braves won 7-5 in that game.
Thu Apr 14 201604:26RHP Matt Wisler made start Wednesday at Washington
RHP Matt Wisler made the start Wednesday at Washington. In his second start of the year, he went six innings and gave up three runs on four hits -- but two were homers to Stephen Drew and Jayson Werth. At game time, Werth was hitting .105. "He finished so well," manager Fredi Gonzalez said of Wisler.

RHP Matt Wisler will make his season debut on Friday against the Cardinals. Wisler, acquired a year ago in the trade that sent Craig Kimbrel to the Padres, was 8-8 with a 4.71 in 20 games last year, 19 of them starts.

Wisler (7-8) surrendered five hits, an earned run and two walks over seven innings in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Nationals. He struck out four.
Wisler recorded his third consecutive quality start and has now logged back-to-back seven-inning outings. He has posted an impressive 1.93 ERA over that two-game stretch. Wisler did surrender a gopher ball for the fourth straight appearance but was otherwise sharp Tuesday, throwing 65 of 99 pitches for strikes. The 23-year-old settled down after a disastrous outing to begin September against this same Nationals squad, and lowered his ERA from 5.97 to 5.11 over his next five trips to the mound during the course of the month. Wisler figures to make his final start in the closing game of 2015 against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Wisler struck out a career-high eight Tuesday against the Mets while improving to 6-8 on the year. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
The rookie right-hander put an end to a nine-start winless drought Tuesday as he looks to finish the season strong. The Mets going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position was a big reason for his success Tuesday. Despite his 5.40 ERA, Wisler's stuff and his pedigree make him a borderline lock for a spot in the starting rotation out of camp next year. He will make his next start Tuesday against the Nationals before pitching the final game of the year at home against the Cardinals.

Wisler (5-8) gave up four runs on nine hits and a pair of walks in a loss to the Jays on Thursday. He struck out three.
The rookie served up a pair of homers, which hasn't generally been his M.O., but he again posted an ugly K:BB, which certainly has been the way of things for him this year. He still hasn't won a game since July 26, but he's given up four-plus runs five times and accumulated seven losses in that span. He'll next get a rematch with the Mets, against whom he turned in practically his only good start in the last two months last Friday.

Wisler (5-7) took the loss against the Mets on Friday, conceding two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings.
How rough has this rookie campaign been on Wisler? Friday was just his fifth quality start in 15 opportunities. Still, with Manny Banuelos shut down for the remainder of the season, Wisler will get the opportunity to remain in the rotation and build off of Friday's solid start.
Thu Sep 10 201517:11Wisler will start for Braves on Friday against Mets
Wisler will start for the Braves on Friday against the Mets, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Wisler will take the place of Manny Banuelos, who is likely shut down for the season due to elbow issues. It's unclear if he'll remain in the rotation the rest of the way, but he'll get an opportunity to make a good impression Friday. While he has started for the Braves, Wisler's last appearance came out of the bullpen, so it's possible his pitch count will be limited a bit.

Wisler was torched in his fourth straight loss, surrendering seven runs in 1.2 innings before getting pulled in Thursday's blowout loss against the Nationals.
Wisler looked like a steal for the Braves in the Craig Kimbrel trade when he started his career with a 5-1 record and 3.43 ERA, but this is the third time he has now allowed seven runs since the beginning of August. He's probably not in danger of losing his rotation spot in 2015, but he might have a tougher time in 2016 if his struggles don't end soon.
