RHP Asher Wojciechowski was designated for assignment by Miami to make room for Cole Figueroa on the 40-man roster. The 27-year old Wojciechowski, who made his MLB debut last year with Houston, going 0-1 in five games, was 3-4 with a 7.89 ERA in 10 minor league starts, five since being picked up by Miami on June 19. He was ripped to the tune of a 15.95 ERA in three starts for New Orleans.

The Indians got to Wojciechowski for four runs on eight hits and two walks in four innings last week in the right-hander's first career major league start.

Wojciechowski likely has a leg up on Hernandez, however, as he's been the Astros' best starter in camp with a 1.08 spring ERA.

Wojciechowski missed all of spring training last year with a strained lat muscle, but he's healthy entering 2015 and made a solid first impression in his bid to break camp as the Astros' No. 5 starter. The 26-year-old went 4-4 with a 4.74 ERA in 15 games (14 starts) at Triple-A last season.
