Boris Diaw (back) will not play on Friday.

There has been no mention of Diaw's back being an issue previously, so we're guessing Gregg Popovich was looking to get Big Mac Boris a night off.

Boris Diaw had 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer on 4-of-7 shooting in 36 minutes in a start against the Bulls.

Diaw has started in eight of the last 10 games (mostly for Tim Duncan), but hadn't done much to impress until tonight. He filled the stat sheet with small numbers, and could continue to do so if Duncan sits going forward, but in the end Diaw is just too unreliable to be worth owning in most leagues.

Boris Diaw had nine points, four rebounds and three assists in a fill-in start at PF on Saturday.

Diaw even drained a 3-pointer, but fantasy owners can safely ignore him with Tim Duncan (rest) due back vs. the 76ers on Monday. Just file this away in case Duncan get hurt at some point -- Diaw has struggled with inconsistency and passivity most of the year, but his versatile game gives him a glimmer of fantasy upside.

Boris Diaw shot 7-of-10 from the field for 14 points, adding four boards, three assists and one steal in Wednesday's easy 103-82 win over Memphis.

The Spurs lead the NBA in bench points per game, so there's a good chance of one of their players turning in a nice line. Diaw hasn't really been able to string games together, so he should be left on the wire in most formats.

Boris Diaw will get a start at power forward on Saturday in place of the injured DeJuan Blair (ankle).

Diaw has been a bit Jack of all trades for the Spurs and started at small forward on Wednesday in place of Danny Green, who returned to action on Friday. Diaw and Tiago Splitter should pick up most of Blair's 17 minutes per game.

Diaw can play anywhere from shooting guard to center for the Spurs, but hasn't done enough this season to warrant a look in fantasy. Danny Green was out with a hamstring injury, forcing Diaw into the starting unit.

Danny Green will miss another game with a hamstring and Diaw is truly a multi-positional player. He started the season at center for the Spurs and could play shooting guard if necessary.

Boris Diaw could start at small forward for the banged-up Spurs on Wednesday.

The Spurs are without Stephen Jackson (pinkie) and Kawhi Leonard (quad), and with Danny Green (hamstring) listed as questionable, Diaw could be bumped into the starting five. Other options are either starting Manu Ginobili or seldom-used James Anderson at the position. Diaw is averaging 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists this season.

Boris Diaw played 38 minutes in a start on Thursday and had 12 points, six boards and one 3-pointer against the Heat.

Diaw shot 5-of-7 from the field and his 38 minutes were a team high. Diaw was playing just 24 minutes per game entering tonight's game, so he can be left on the wire in most 12-team leagues.

The Spurs want Boris Diaw to shoot the ball more often when he's open.

"When Boris plays like that, we're a different team," Tony Parker said. "A lot of times, he's like, wide open. He needs to shoot the ball." It's worth noting that Diaw has scored in double-digits in each of his last two games, but outside of extremely deep formats, owners can simply watch him from the waiver wire.

Boris Diaw scored 16 points off the bench on Monday against the Wizards, hitting 6-of-7 shots (including a three) with one rebound and two assists in 23 minutes.

The Wizards were terrible and though Diaw has two straight visible performances, tonight's result should be viewed very skeptically. Outside of very deep formats, owners can simply ignore Diaw for now.

Boris Diaw played 34 minutes in a win over the Raptors and had 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer on Sunday.

Tiago Splitter saw 21 minutes and had five points with five boards off the bench. Coach Pop is going to make this situation too messy to monitor in standard leagues.

Boris Diaw was invisible in 15 minutes on Saturday -- he finished with two assists, one turnover and no other statistics to his credit.

DeJuan Blair (knee) wasn't even active tonight, but the Spurs' rotation is too deep to rely on guys like Diaw or Tiago Splitter (six points, two rebounds in 18 minutes).

Boris Diaw posted a nice line against the Kings on Friday, scoring nine points on 3-of-5 shooting with nine rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes off the bench.

Diaw did this against a defenseless Kings squad, so owners need to take this line with a grain of salt. He is a borderline value in 12-team leagues right now, but an inconsistent role makes him better for 14-16 team formats.

Diaw was surprisingly active and his versatility is something that Coach Pop will utilize. That said, things could change quickly and Diaw isn't really an option in standard leagues. He's definitely on the radar, though.

The Spurs' coaching staff is "open" to leaving Boris Diaw in the starting frontcourt this season, alongside Tim Duncan.

DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter could also fight for the job, but Diaw appears to be the favorite after taking over the starting job in the playoffs last year. As usual, Gregg Popovich will adjust his lineups according to his whims and the performance of his players -- "We don't make any preconceived decisions on who is going to play what or how many minutes," said Pop. "If DeJuan plays better than Manu at the two guard, then he'll start at the two guard."

The Spurs and Boris Diaw have reportedly agreed on a two-year, $9 million contract.

The second year is a player option and there are incentives which could bump the total salary to $9.2 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Diaw has a great relationship with fellow Frenchman Tony Parker, and is less likely to lose focus and pack on pounds under the watchful eye of Gregg Popovich, but there may not be enough minutes for all of the Spurs' big men -- Diaw, Tim Duncan (once he re-signs), Matt Bonner, Tiago Splitter and DeJuan Blair.

Boris Diaw had seven points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer in Tuesday's Game 1 win over the Clippers.

He's starting at center and despite hitting just 3-of-9 shots tonight, looks like a much better guy to own than Tiago Splitter (four points in 12 minutes) and DeJuan Blair (1 minute).

Starting at center vs. the Jazz, Boris Diaw scored nine points on Sunday, the most points he's scored in a Spurs uniform.

Diaw made 4-of-5 FGs and grabbed five boards in 26 minutes of action, while DeJuan Blair only played nine minutes off the bench. Both guys will be leaned on heavily if Tiago Splitter's wrist injury costs him any games.

Boris Diaw started at center against the Blazers on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-5 shooting with seven rebounds, six assists, and a block in 25 minutes.

The Spurs get his old Suns squad on Wednesday, and then a workable Warriors squad on Thursday to wrap things up. Diaw doesn't match up incredibly well against either squad, but he could be relied upon as a facilitator when the Big Three are sat down. Of course, the standard Pop disclaimer applies.
